Chapters 51-55

Setting: Wyndemere
(There's a quiet chaos throughout Wyndemere. Patrick Drake is holding Robin Scorpio firmly in his arms, not wanting to let her go as Anna Devane runs frantically around the small room looking for some sort of weapon. Nikolas takes a deep breath, glances at Alexis then walks over to his desk. He opens the draw and takes out two handguns. Alexis's eyes widen.)

Alexis: Nikolas, what are you doing with those?
(Nikolas ignores Alexis and looks at Patrick.)
Nikolas: Hey!
(Patrick looks up slowly from the crook of Robin's neck, still refusing to let her go.)
Nikolas: Take this and get home safely.
(Nikolas walks toward them offering a handgun as Robin turns around in Patrick's arms. She shakes her head.)
Robin: Nikolas, no.
Nikolas: Robin, I don't want you here, if my grandmother comes back.
Robin (strongly): I don't want your gun.
(Patrick glances slightly at Robin. Nikolas was offering her the gun – not him.)
Nikolas: We both know you can use it.
(Robin touches Nikolas's hand.)
Robin (simply): But, I won't.
(Patrick steps forward and extends his hand.)
Patrick (strongly): But, I would.
(Robin touches Patrick's hand stopping him.)
Robin (looks at him): Patrick, no.
(Patrick finally looks back at Robin. This was the first time he truly looked at her. She looked so tired. There was a large gash on her head and her entire body was covered in dirt. He hadn't even noticed any of those things before; he simply grabbed her and didn't want to let her go. Patrick gently reaches toward Robin and touches her face.)
Patrick (softly): I want to get you home and take care of you.
(Robin looks back at Patrick and feels her entire body soften. She looks toward her mother, waiting for some sort cue.)
Anna: Robin, you already fainted once.
Alexis (concerned): You fainted?
(Noah steps forward and looks at his son. They share a quiet acknowledgement as they both turn their attention back to Robin.)
Robin: I'm fine… I just got tired. I've been nauseous all day and I just got light-headed. (Looks at Patrick) Don't look at me like that; I'm fine.
Patrick (gently): Please let me take you home.
(Nikolas turns and looks at Alexis.)
Nikolas: You should go too. This. This is between my grandmother and me.
(Anna steps forward.)
Anna: And me.
(Noah steps forward and looks at Alexis.)
Noah: I can take you home, Alexis.
Alexis: Nikolas…
(Before Alexis can finish her statement, Luke Spencer walks into Wyndemere holding Helena Cassidine by her arm with Robert and Mac Scorpio, Lucky Spencer, Jason Morgan, Sonny Corinthos and Lorenzo Alcazar by his side.)
Luke: Look, who we found doing a damn good impression of a mermaid.
(Robert releases a held breath and runs toward his daughter.)
Robert (relieved): Robin!
(Robert and Robin stare at each other awkwardly for a moment. And for once, it was Robert who made the first move. He reached toward his daughter's dirt-smudged face.)
Robert: You wear dirt well.
Robin (tearfully smiles): Let me guess… I got that from your side.
Robert (smiles): Most definitely. Come here!
(Robert hugs his daughter tightly, not caring if she wants to squirm out of his arms or if she doesn't want to be there… he needed her there. Patrick watches quietly as Robin nestles into her father's arms and closes her eyes. Across the room, Nikolas walks over to his brother and Luke Spencer.)
Nikolas: Helena kidnapped both Anna and Robin.
Lucky: Her reasoning?
Alexis: She wanted the Cassidine funds in return for Robin.
(Helena rolls her eyes slightly as she attempts to squirm out of Luke's firm grip. Nikolas looks toward Sonny, Lorenzo and Jason.)
Nikolas: And they're here? Because?
Lorenzo (steps forward): Helena paid Manny Ruiz to kidnap Robin.
(Nikolas looks back at his grandmother.)
Nikolas: Sloppy.
(After reuniting with Anna and Robin, Mac walks over to Luke and Helena.)
Mac: Let's bring her to the PCPD.
(Mac is about to leave, but stops and looks at Patrick.)
Mac (loudly): Drake!
(Noah and Patrick both look up.)
Mac (to Patrick): Take my niece home and make sure she's okay.
(Patrick just nods then looks down when he suddenly feels Robin's hand slide into his. Something so simple suddenly held such meaning to him. Patrick kisses the top of Robin's head and sighs softly. Mac smiles toward them one last time then leaves with Luke and Helena. Also watching the scene in front of them is Sonny and Jason, suddenly feeling extremely out of place. Jason watches Patrick gently touch Robin's face while examining the cut on her forehead. He couldn't explain the strange feeling he suddenly felt in the pit of his stomach. And within moments, Noah appears with a first aid kit smiling. Sonny watches Robin say something to the older Drake that makes him laugh as he carefully cleans the wound then place a bandage on top of it. Much like Jason, Sonny felt an odd sense of “not belonging.” He turns and looks at his best friend.)
Sonny: We should go.
(Jason nods then follows Sonny out of Wyndemere. Nikolas walks back over to Robin and looks at her.)
Nikolas: Are you really okay?
Robin: Yeah, I just need a good shower. I'll be fine, I promise.
Nikolas: Good. (Looks at Anna) And how's your mom?
(Robin turns around slowly just in time to see her father make his way toward her mother. Patrick feels a much firmer grip on his hand from Robin. He leans in toward her.)
Patrick: Maybe we should go.
Robin (watching them): Wait…
(Anna is staring at the fireplace when she suddenly feels Robert's presence behind her. She closes her eyes.)
Anna: Walk away, Robert.
Robert (breathes): Anna…
(In one swift move, Anna turns around and punches Robert square in the jaw. Robert falls to the ground immediately as he holds his jaw. He watches her shake her hand to take the sting out of it.)
Anna: I told you to walk away, Robert!
Robert (smirks): And miss your hello kiss?
(Watching them, Robin groans inwardly as Patrick leans in toward her.)
Patrick: And you thought we'd end up like that?
Robin (sighs): I don't know… I see some resemblances.
Patrick (straightly): Yeah, you're right. (Looks at her) Want to take me home and knock me around a bit?
(Robin hits Patrick's arm as she looks back at him.)
Robin: Shut up.
(Robin turns fully toward Patrick, pulls him down toward her while standing on her tiptoes and gently kisses him, again and again. Patrick sighs contently as he pulls Robin toward him and lowers his hands to her waist, allowing her to deepen the kiss as she raises her arms and places them around his neck. He wanted to feel every single part of her. Patrick slowly runs his hands along her back and he can hear her moan subtlety against his mouth… and that just made him want her more. She was so vulnerable in his arms… so vulnerable yet so passionate. He had never been with anyone like this; felt like this with anyone. Patrick wanted her so much. He wanted everything with her – a life together, a family. A family. Patrick slowly pulls away and looks at Robin.)
Patrick (softly): Let's go home.
(Robin nods then allows Patrick to take her hand and lead her out of Wyndemere. She glances at her parents one last time bickering loudly on the floor of someone else's living room and simply shakes her head, confident that her and Patrick wouldn't end up like that.)

Setting: Robin's Apartment
(The walk back to Robin's apartment was excruciatingly silent. Patrick held onto Robin's hand so firmly that she was almost afraid to ask if he was okay. She honestly didn't know if she'd be able to handle his response. She could feel from his simple gestures how much he missed her and was worried about her. She felt his love and worry permeate from his very being. Robin could only hope that Patrick felt how much she loved him back. And when she worried that he didn't, she simply held his hand tighter as they continued to walk in silence toward her apartment. Patrick opens the door quietly for them and she steps in first. Robin freezes as she looks around her home. This was her home… the same home where she was planning to seduce Patrick Drake into moving in with her. Robin had to smile at that thought and Patrick saw her lips curving slightly and he walks over to her. He slowly wraps his arms around her waist as he leans down and kisses her neck. Patrick let his hands softly rest on her stomach. Robin had no idea the significance of that simple gesture and just leaned back softly into his arms.)

Robin: I had so many plans for us that night.
Patrick (softly): I know. (Kisses her neck) I saw the notes.
(Robin looks down.)
Patrick: Would it ruin the surprise, if I said “hell yes?”
(Robin smiles as she turns around in Patrick's arms and kisses him.)
Robin (smiling): Not in the least. When can you move in?
(Patrick moves slightly from Robin and his eyes immediately hit her medical file, still resting on the couch from where he left them the night before. He stares at them for a moment, then looks back at Robin.)
Patrick: Robin, there's something we should talk about first.
(Robin smiles as she looks back at Patrick and gently touches his face.)
Robin: I want to talk to you, but can I just do one thing first?
Patrick: Of course!
Robin: I need to take a shower. I feel like I am covered in dirt from the Middle Ages.
(Patrick smiles and nods.)
Patrick: Sure. Come on… let's start a shower.
(Patrick takes Robin's hand and leads her toward the bathroom. He quickly turns on the water then turns his attention back to Robin. He was so amazing. She watches Patrick earnestly as he slowly raises the sweater from Robin's body then leans in and kisses each of her shoulders before lowering her bra straps. He moans slightly when he feels Robin's soft fingers run through his hair as he moves his kisses to her neck while lowering the zipper of her skirt. She bites her lip softly as she leans in toward Patrick's ear.)
Robin (softly): Want to talk in the shower?
(Robin can feel the immediate smile form on Patrick's lips against her skin and she laughs. She took that as a yes and quickly went to work unbuttoning Patrick's shirt, letting the material fall behind them. It took them only mere seconds to work their way into the shower and for the hot water to surround their bodies. Robin closes her eyes as she feels Patrick's hands wash slowly and seductively every single crevice of her body. He handled her with such care. Robin loved being touched in a way that made her feel like she was the most precious thing on earth. And she was. To Patrick, she was his entire world. He closes his own eyes when he feels Robin's soft hands lather down his chest and then gingerly kiss every single inch of his body that she missed. She kissed his shoulders, his chest, his arms, his legs… everywhere and everything. There weren't any words spoken during this time. They didn't need any words, at this point. Their love and devotion was felt. They stayed in the shower for almost an hour until the hot water ran out and Patrick quickly decided to warm up a laughing Robin. They dried each other off then ran laughing the entire time back into her bedroom. Patrick immediately throws Robin's short white robe toward her as he dries his hair. She sits on the foot of her bed and moments later watches Patrick kneel in front of her with skilled expertise and place a small bandage on the cut on her forehead. He's about to stand up when Robin gently pushes him back down by pressing his shoulders. She looks directly at him with her eyes brimming with tears.)
Robin (softly): Patrick…
(Patrick just reaches toward Robin and softly caresses the side of her face.)
Patrick: I know.
Robin: Do you? Do you really?
(Patrick silently nods and Robin hugs him tightly then kisses his shoulder. She didn't even have to tell him how much she loved him and the thought of never seeing him again rocked her to the very core of her body. He already knew that.)
Robin: Thank you.
(Patrick softly runs his hands up and down Robin's back until she slowly pulls away. She looks back at him.)
Robin: Patrick, I need to feel you. Please.
(And with that, Patrick slowly raises toward her and kisses her tenderly again and again as they fall back onto the bed. Robin closes her eyes contently. She loved the touch of his hands. She could feel him slowly pushing the robe from her body. He was so warm and Robin sighs softly as she opened her eyes, wanting to see and feel everything. Patrick kissed her all over… everywhere. She could get lost in him. And she did. Time and time again, she did. Robin ran her hands along Patrick's strong back and heard him shudder somewhat unexpectedly. Robin reaches up slightly and kisses Patrick's bare shoulder as his hands explored the rest of body. He was unbelievable.)
Robin (softly): I'm home.
(Patrick moves his kisses back to Robin's mouth. They fit so perfectly together. He reached over toward the nightstand and took out their necessary protection… then as always softly kissed Robin's forehead. He watched her smile. Robin was home. She was right where she belonged. With him.)

Setting: Robin's Bedroom in her Apartment
(The entire apartment is eerily quiet. Patrick Drake is sitting up staring straight ahead while leaning on the headboard of Robin's bed as he absently runs his hand along her bare back as she lies draped across his body. He takes a deep breath then looks down toward her and watches her slow and steady breaths escape her body. Patrick decided he could spend the entire night simply watching her. He couldn't believe it was only a few hours ago, he had no idea if he'd ever see Robin again, hold her again, make love to her again – and now that he had done all three… he felt like the luckiest man on earth. And he was about to get luckier. He watches as Robin slowly stirs awake with a smile on her face and nestles closer to him.)

Robin: Mmmm… was that a dream?
(Patrick smiles as he runs his long fingers up and down her arm.)
Patrick: If it was, it was an amazing one.
Robin (smiles): Mmmm…
(Robin nestles further into Patrick's body and smiles happily.)
Robin: I'm really glad you're moving in with me.
Patrick (smiles): I knew you would cave in.
(Robin turns her head and kisses Patrick's bare stomach.)
Robin: You convinced me with your powerful and seductive ways, Dr. Drake.
(Patrick laughs slightly then looks down at Robin. He had to tell her about the pregnancy. He knew he had to during the entire night, but he just wanted to be with her first and then he wanted her to rest. And now… he just wants her to know that they created a life together.)
Patrick (softly): Hey…
(Robin looks up slightly.)
Patrick: Do you think we can talk for a minute?
(Robin slowly moves away from Patrick and sits up slowly while holding the thin blanket across her body. She turns toward him.)
Robin (softly): Of course. You wanted to talk earlier, didn't you? I'm sorry.
(Patrick just shakes his head as he looks down.)
Patrick: No, no… don't apologize.
(Robin smiles as she touches Patrick's face gently.)
Robin: I just wanted to be with you so badly. I'm sorry.
(Patrick reaches toward Robin's hand touching his face and holds it in his.)
Patrick: Don't apologize. (kisses her hand) Not for that, ever.
Robin (softly): Okay. I won't. (smiles) What's up?
(Patrick lowers their joined hands and looks at them.)
Patrick: I don't…
(Patrick shakes his head and releases a held breath.)
Patrick: This is harder than I thought it would be.
(Robin looks back at Patrick confused.)
Robin (softly): What is it?
(Patrick slowly looks back at her.)
Robin: You're mad at me, aren't you?
Patrick (taken back): What in the world for?
Robin: Not listening to you. We should've gone away like you said.
(Patrick shakes his head.)
Patrick: No, you were right. You can't spend your life running.
Robin: But, still…
Patrick: None of this was your fault.
(Robin just looks down quietly. Patrick sighs as he raises his hand slowly and touches the side of her face. She looks back at him.)
Robin: Then, what is it?
(Patrick takes another deep breath.)
Patrick: Before everything got crazy… you had an appointment with my father.
Robin (remembering): Right. I'll meet with him tomorrow.
Patrick (softly): Robin…
(Robin turns toward Patrick fully and looks at him.)
Robin: What is it?
(Patrick looks down and again tries to find the right words.)
Robin: Did something come up in my tests? (searching) Was it my viral load?
(Patrick shakes his head as he looks back at Robin.)
Patrick: No. Thank God – your viral load is still undetectable and your T-cell counts are still amazingly high.
(Robin places a hand on her chest and breathes a sight of relief.)
Robin: Oh good! It's just the way you looked right now… it was like you didn't know how to tell me something. (pauses) Was it Noah? Did I scare him by not showing up?
Patrick: Yes, but… that's not…
(Patrick turns fully toward Robin and takes both of her hands in his.)
Patrick: This is absolutely crazy. Women have been doing this for years.
(Robin laughs slightly.)
Robin: Doing what? (smiles) Holding hands?
Patrick: Telling their partner, err… husband, boyfriend…
(Robin watches Patrick confused as he scratches the top of his head.)
Robin: Patrick, whatever it is – just say it. Say it and then we'll deal. (smiles) I promise… there is nothing you can tell me right now that will send me reeling.
Patrick: Are you sure about that?
Robin (smiles): Certain of it. I am with the man I love more than anything. I am alive; I am happy; I am healthy and I'm…
Patrick (blurts out): And you're pregnant.
(Robin's mouth falls slightly as she stares back at Patrick. There's an intense silence for several minutes until Robin pulls her hand away from his slowly.)
Robin: What did you say?
Patrick: Robin, you're having my baby.
(Robin shakes her head then leaps off of the bed. She grabs her robe and quickly ties it.)
Robin: That's not funny, Patrick.
(Patrick leaps off the bed as well. He grabs his boxer shorts and follows her.)
Patrick: Do you think I'm making a joke?
(Robin walks into her living room and heads directly toward her kitchen. Patrick follows her as she makes her way toward the stove and puts on her kettle for tea.)
Robin: I don't know what Noah told you, but he's mistaken. (looking at her kettle) I'm not pregnant.
(Patrick walks over to her.)
Patrick: Why not?
(Robin turns around and looks at Patrick with widened eyes.)
Robin: There are dozens of reasons why not. The test, or whatever, Noah ran was wrong.
Patrick: Robin, he ran it three times personally.
Robin: Then the labs were wrong. (strongly) I am not pregnant, Patrick.
(Patrick just watches her confused as she turns around and starts preparing a cup of tea for herself. She walks over to her cupboard, takes out a mug then digs for her favorite tea bags.)
Patrick: Robin…
Robin: Patrick I don't want to talk about this anymore. I am not pregnant.
(A frustrated Patrick runs his hands through his hair then walks over to Robin's couch. He picks up her medical folder that Noah gave him the previous night and walks back over to her, holding it. He gently places it underneath her line of vision as she stares at her empty mug.)
Patrick: The lab results are here.
(Robin simply ignores him.)
Patrick: If you don't believe me, you can read them yourself. I know you know how to.
(Robin finally turns her head and looks back at Patrick with tears in her eyes.)
Robin: I'm not pregnant, Patrick.
(Patrick lowers the folder onto her counter then holds her face in his hands. He looks directly at her.)
Patrick: Yes, you are. (She closes her eyes) You are carrying my child, Robin.
(Robin simply shakes her head, still not believing him. Patrick drops his hands and firmly places them on his hips.)
Patrick: I don't get this.
(Robin looks back at Patrick emotionally.)
Robin: What?
Patrick: I expected you to be shocked, but this… I didn't expect complete denial.
(Robin turns around and starts pouring sugar into her mug. Patrick just stares at her back.)
Patrick: Why won't you at least look at the lab results?
(Patrick waits for a response from her. Anything. When he doesn't get one, he continues.)
Patrick: This isn't going to go away, Robin. There's a life growing inside of you.
(Robin closes her eyes and Patrick can see her slowly raise her hand and wipe away her tears.)
Patrick: A life that we created together. I know… I know that it's hard to believe. We were and are so careful, but… it doesn't matter. Robin, you are pregnant.
(Robin still refuses to face him or look at the folder.)
Patrick: My father spent hours in the research library gathering everything he could find on HIV+ pregnancies. Everything is on the couch, if you want to read it… when you're ready to read it.
(Robin bites her bottom lip as more and more tears start to escape from her eyes. Patrick only can see her hand being raised to cover her mouth.)
Patrick: He thinks, I mean, we both think that the chances are extremely well for you to deliver a healthy baby.
(Robin looks down and sobs softly as Patrick continues.)
Patrick: Your viral load has been undetectable now for over ten years… that is definitely in your favor. I'm going to put a call in to one of my friends in New York to consult on your pregnancy. Dr. Lee is good, but she isn't the best. I mean, my friend Melanie graduated top of our class with honors and…
Robin: Stop! Patrick! Just stop!
(Robin finally turns around and looks at Patrick with tears streaming down her face.)
Robin: Please! Stop!
(And he does. Patrick's hands fall from his hips and he just looks back at her. She's crying.)
Robin (emotionally): Why… why are you doing this to me?
Patrick (angrily): What am I doing to you, Robin? (she looks down) What exactly am I guilty of, here? I'm struggling to understand. Is it that I got you pregnant?
(Robin slowly looks back up at him.)
Patrick: Is that it?
(Robin just stares back at Patrick speechless. And in that moment, the hurt is radiating from his eyes.)
Patrick (hurt): Is that it? (slowly) Is it that you don't want to have a child with me?
(Robin shakes her head then slowly reaches toward Patrick and touches his arm.)
Robin: It's not you, Patrick. It's never you – it's me! (crying) Don't you get it? If I am pregnant, then something went wrong. Somewhere in all of our precautions, in all our safety, I failed you. I put you at risk.
(Patrick's eyes immediately soften.)
Patrick: Robin, no…
Robin: Yes, Patrick! I could've hurt you.
(Patrick moves closer to Robin and slowly bridges the distance between them.)
Patrick: Robin, there is no possible way you could ever hurt me.
Robin: And if you have HIV because of me?
Patrick: I knew the risks. (simply) I'm a doctor, Robin. I am not some senseless punk who just wanted to get laid. (strongly) I was and am a doctor in love with his girlfriend. The risks I took were informed and they were mine to take. Your viral load is undetectable. We used a condom each and every time we made love. I do not or will I ever regret being with you.
(Robin closes her eyes and can feel the fresh tears falling from her face.)
Robin: Something went wrong, Patrick.
(Patrick gently reaches toward and wipes away her tears.)
Patrick: Or something went incredibly right.
(Robin reopens her eyes and looks at the man standing in front of her.)
Patrick: We created a life, Robin. A life. That can't be a mistake.
Robin: But…
Patrick: Unless, you don't want to have a child with me… I had hours upon hours to think about this and I don't know… when I thought I'd never see you again I couldn't think of any negatives to this.
(Robin finally reaches toward her file and picks it up.)
Robin: The negatives? Patrick, I am HIV+. Do you know what that means? Are you aware of what that really means?
Patrick: Of course I am.
Robin: No, you know the medical facts. You know how many T-cells a normal person has and how many a patient about to develop AIDS is left with. You know what drug protocols should be taken and which ones aren't as effective. And you might even know the proper ways to prevent HIV transmission. (emotionally) But you do not know what it is like to live in my head, to hear the voices that I carry with me every day! You have no idea what it is like to not know if you had more days behind you than you have in front of you! (simply) You are invincible, Patrick. You are the strong, beautiful and brilliant Patrick Drake. You have no idea what it is like to be scared.
Patrick (angrily): No idea what it's like to be scared? Try standing in my shoes, Robin! You tell me – what is it like to be in love with a person with a deadly disease in their body? Huh? What is it like to put all your hopes and dreams into one single person? And know that every day, every moment I am not with you, I am letting my heart simply walk away from me and God knows what could happen to it. (looks at her) No, I may not know what it's like to have HIV. I have no idea what it must feel like to take forty pills a day. But, I know what it's like to love you. I know what it's like to want to take away all of your pain. (she looks back at him) I know what it's like to feel powerless. I can't heal you. I can't perform some miracle procedure on you that will guarantee you being with me until were ninety. All I can do is give you what I have. I can give you my strength, my heart; Robin, I'd give you my entire soul, if you'd take it. (slowly) But, I need you to want it. I need you to want me and what I have to offer you. I need you to want our child and our future together. I can fight. I can fight until I collapse, but I can't do it alone. (takes her hands in his) I need you, Robin. I need you to fight with me. I need you to let me in. (emotionally) Please Robin. Don't shut me out. Please.
(Robin lowers her eyes then slowly removes her hands from Patrick's. She wipes her tears then turns slowly toward the counter. She looks down at her medical folder then slowly opens it. Patrick watches her as she covers her mouth with one hand and uses her other to hold up the first sheet of results.)
Robin (softly): I'm pregnant.
(Robin stares at it for another moment then slowly turns toward Patrick and looks at him.)
Robin: Patrick, what are we going to do?

Setting: Robin's Living Room
(It's late in the night. Robin's entire apartment is eerily silent. The never speechless Patrick Drake is simply staring down at his hands as Robin stares straight ahead. Finally she breaks the silence surrounding them.)

Robin (softly): You have to get tested.
(Patrick simply nods.)
Patrick: I will.
Robin: Do you think…
(Patrick turns his head and looks back at Robin.)
Robin: Do you think we can wait on telling people?
(Patrick takes a deep breath then nods quietly, looking back at his folded hands again. Robin turns her head and bites her lip awkwardly. She can tell that Patrick was hurt. Robin was hurting him without even trying. But, she didn't want to hurt him. She never wanted to hurt him. Robin sighs softly then slowly raises her hand and touches the back of his head.)
Robin (softly): It isn't you.
(Patrick still doesn't look back at her.)
Robin: I want to have your baby, Patrick.
(Patrick tenses up slightly and looks down again.)
Patrick: Why do I feel like a “but” is coming on?
(Robin turns fully and faces Patrick.)
Robin (honestly): I'm scared.
(Patrick turns toward Robin as well and looks back at her as he reaches for her hand.)
Patrick: Well, let's talk about this then. What are you scared of?
(Robin laughs emotionally.)
Robin: You want a list?
Patrick: How about this? You admit a fear, and then I'll admit one of mine.
(Robin tilts her head and looks back at Patrick.)
Robin: I don't know.
Patrick: Come on! Think of it as a bonding moment. (lightly) Years from now, we could look back at this night and say that this was when our relationship completely changed.
(Robin leans back on one of the arms of her couch and stares back at Patrick.)
Robin: You say that jokingly, but Patrick… our relationship has completely changed. (looks down at her hands) And that is one of my fears. I'm afraid that this is all too much too soon. (honestly) I'm afraid we're not ready for this.
(Patrick nods as he settles back onto the other arm of couch, completely facing her.)
Patrick: I'm afraid that you think I'm not ready for this.
(Robin looks up at him with widened eyes. She starts to object, but Patrick stops by raising one of his fingers.)
Patrick: No explanations or defenses. Let's just get the fears out there.
Robin (nods): Okay… then, I'm afraid that I gave you HIV.
(Patrick looks down at his hands resting on his lap.)
Patrick: That's ironic… because I'm afraid that you'll be too scared to have sex with me again, because something wasn't fool-proof once.
(Robin just looks up at the ceiling and Patrick can clearly see the tears brimming from her eyes as he slowly raises his head to look at her. She was scared of that. He releases a loud breath then swallows the lump of air in his throat.)
Patrick (hoarsely): Your turn.
(Robin, still staring at the ceiling, wipes her cheeks.)
Robin: I'm afraid that I won't be able to forget that I endangered you. I love being with you, Patrick.
(Robin lowers her eyes finally and looks back at Patrick.)
Robin: And it's not just a physical thing. I mean, yeah it is, somewhat… but to feel that close to you. (looks down) It's the best feeling I know, and I am terrified that I won't allow myself to…
(Patrick closes his eyes and can surprisingly feel a slight moistness forming on his cheeks. He wipes it away quickly then looks back at her.)
Patrick: I'm afraid of failing you. (they stare at each other) And not being enough for you.
(Robin shakes her head and looks down.)
Robin (softly): I never think I'm enough for you.
(Patrick moves toward Robin and takes both of her hands in his.)
Patrick: How could you say that? How could you even think that?
(Robin looks back at him.)
Robin: Patrick, I'm HIV+!
Patrick: Fine! You're HIV+. I get it, Robin, I do… I promise you that I do. I am not belittling it. But it infuriates me how you let this disease run your life.
(Robin opens her mouth to say something, but Patrick simply ignores her and continues.)
Patrick: I'm the first relationship you had in years, not that I necessarily mind, but I know for a fact that it had to be because you thought no one else would want to get close to you. I find it extremely hard to believe that no other man has noticed you since Jason Morgan. The only thing I do believe is that I was the most persistent one. (she shakes her head) You are a brilliant doctor, but I know as well as you – that you could've been an amazing surgeon. You have remarkable instincts in the O.R… the best I've ever seen, sometimes even better than mine, but you chose research because deep down I know you thought that patients wouldn't want to be treated by a HIV+ surgeon.
(Robin starts to protest, but Patrick doesn't allow her to.)
Patrick: And before we got together, you shut your body off. You are a sexual, beautiful woman, Robin… and I know, no I am certain that I've finally been able to make some headway with you. I watch you while we make love. You've let your guard down. You've finally allowed yourself to enjoy sex… to enjoy me and the pleasure I can give you, and now because of this, you are thinking about shutting that part of your body off again.
(Robin closes her eyes.)
Patrick: And while this all infuriates me – do you know what infuriates me the most? That you are letting this disease lessen what could be the most amazing thing that has ever happened to either one of us.
(Robin slowly reopens her eyes.)
Patrick: Robin, we created a life together. And I don't know, maybe it's having hours upon hours imagining what my life would be like without you… but I want this.
(Patrick reaches toward Robin and takes her hand in his.)
Patrick (strongly): I want this with you. I want our child. (she looks back at him) I want this more than I've ever wanted anything. Robin, I want to be connected to you. (simply) We could have a real family.
Robin (emotionally): But, aren't you scared? Patrick, I could be a horrible mother!
Patrick: That's not even possible. (touches her face) You are the most amazing woman I've ever met. (sighs) Want the honest truth? Robin, I've spent about half of my life praying every time I put on a condom that it would be fool-proof. (she looks down) I didn't pray for that with you. It didn't cross my mind, either way. (she looks back at him) I know that you're scared – scared of motherhood, scared of infecting me, scared of having sex with me again. Robin, I know each and every single one of your fears… but I just need to you know, please just tell me you know that no matter what happens I will love you and I will love our child, to the best of my ability and with everything I have. Please just tell me you know that.
(Robin leaps toward Patrick and hugs him tightly. He releases a deep breath as he feels the warmth of her body in his arms. As much as Robin needed to be comforted, he didn't realize how much he needed her… until she reached out to him. Patrick can feel her tears on his shoulder and he simply just holds her tighter. They sit like this for several moments until finally Robin breaks the silence.)
Robin (emotionally): I didn't tell you one of my fears.
(Patrick watches Robin slowly pull away from him and he wipes her eyes softly.)
Patrick: What?
Robin (emotionally): That I'm a bad person for wanting this. (looks at him) I want your baby, Patrick. I've wanted your baby. (pauses) I didn't believe you when you first told me because I couldn't believe you. I couldn't believe that something I only had the courage to think about in my dreams would come true. And then I felt guilty for wanting it. Like, what if I willed this to happen…
Patrick (smirks): You're a powerful little thing, huh?
(Robin finally smiles slightly as Patrick caresses her cheek with his thumb.)
Robin: You don't know how badly I wanted this with you. (pauses) I mean, maybe I thought further down the road or… (looks down) I just need you to know that no matter what happens, I want this child. (looks at him) And I want this child with you.
(Patrick looks down.)
Patrick (simply): Thank you.
(Robin runs her hand behind Patrick's neck as she looks at him.)
Robin: This must've been so hard for you. I'm so sorry that you had to deal with this on your own. To have me missing and then you find out that I'm pregnant. I can't even imagine, Patrick…
(Patrick looks back at her.)
Patrick: I would've given anything to have you back with me, Robin. I can't… I don't think I would be able to go through something like that again. Not knowing where you were, it felt like my entire world shifted on its axis. Everything I thought I knew seemed false. I didn't like being in a world where I wasn't with you. (kisses her hand) I love you, Robin. And I don't just love you; I really and truly like you. (she smiles) You know, I love having sex with you, that's needless to say, but as cheesy as it sounds, the best part of my night most of the times is afterward.
(Robin smiles as Patrick pulls her toward him and she rests her head on his bare chest, simply listening to the simple sound of his heartbeat.)
Patrick: You know, right afterward… when your eyes have that glassy, very pleased look and your skin is so warm that it makes me just want to touch it all over. And I do… at least as much as I can since I'm usually spent.
(Robin blushes slightly.)
Patrick: And then you lazily reach toward me, kiss me softly while murmuring something breathlessly, that way you do across my lips then with such a ease, move back down my body and rest your head right on my chest. Just like you are now. And I can feel your soft breath on my skin, and you tell me all about some boring research article you read or some silly play that I would never even dream of seeing… and I listen to you all the same. The most mundane thing that would normally send me to dreamland keeps me up with you. (Kisses the top of her head) I didn't realize until you were gone how much I depended on you. You keep me in balance; you make my world seem right.
(Patrick runs his hand along her bare arm.)
Patrick: And not to sound like a complete freak, you pleasure me in a way that I never even imagined possible. (Looks down at her) And I think I can confidently say that I do the same for you.
(Robin rolls her eyes slightly.)
Patrick: We fit so well together, Robin. It's like we were made for one another. When we're together, I can't even tell where I start and you begin; it all becomes one fluid motion, one solid being. (He kisses her head again) I don't want you to be scared with me, Robin, ever, in any situation. I won't pressure you, I promise.
Robin: You're not. (Softly) You don't. You never did. Even with all your relentless flirting and lame come-ons… I never felt dirty or cheap. You treat me like I'm precious to you… even before you said that you loved me, I felt it by the way you touched me, protected me. Your heart is so much bigger than you think. I know that you are going to be an amazing father, Patrick.
(Robin looks down again at her hands.)
Robin (hesitates): Tonight… when we made love… did you think about something going wrong?
Patrick: No. I told you, I never think about that. The only thing I think about is you. (Touches her arm) And how beautiful you are, how soft your skin feels and how it feels to be connected to you… feeling you all around me, knowing that I'm the man you love. I don't think of anything else.
Robin: I never did either. (Looks up at him) All those things you said before… about me and the HIV. You were right. And I don't… I don't want to lose our intimacy. (Tearfully) I can't imagine never making love to you again. It physically hurts me. (Pauses) But, I also can't imagine putting you further at risk. Patrick, I can't do that to you.
(Patrick just looks down.)
Robin: I just need to… I just need to let all of this digest. (Looks at him) Patrick, I'm not pushing you away. I need you. I need you now more than ever.
(Patrick smirks slowly as he raises his head and looks back at the woman he loves more than anything.)
Patrick: Well, I'm here.
Robin (sighs): Good. Because we need to figure this out together.
(Robin moves from Patrick and stands up. She walks over to her kitchen counter and picks up a notepad. He watches her and smiles. It was in that simple moment, he knew she would be okay. This was his sometimes neurotic girlfriend at her finest. She was making one of her infamous lists.)
Robin: Okay, tomorrow – I have to meet with a doctor.
Patrick: I want to go too.
Robin: Fine. I guess, for now I'll meet with Noah until we decide who will be our primary physician.
Patrick: Like I said, my old friend Melanie is the best, but I have a whole list of specialists.
Robin: Good. (Writes on her list) Next… I have to see Kevin Collins.
Patrick: Who's he?
Robin: An old friend. He use to practice at GH. (Looks at him) He's a psychiatrist. (Sighs) He helped me a lot when I was first diagnosed and later on when I decided to go on the protocol. Kevin is an amazing man. I feel like he might be able to help me figure out some things.
Patrick: Okay… whatever it takes.
Robin (looks at him): Good! I was hoping you'd say that. (Smiles) Patrick, you're next on my list.
(Patrick smiles as he leans in toward her.)
Patrick: Your list of things to do, I hope.
(Robin smiles as she shakes her head. She simply turns toward him and wraps her arms around his neck as she looks back at him.)
Robin: I have to think of ways to show you how much I love you and how grateful I am to have you in my life. (Smiles) Got any ideas?
(Patrick starts to say something then stops suddenly. He thinks for a moment then smiles.)
Patrick: I do, actually.
Robin: Care to share?
Patrick: When can I move my stuff into the bigger closet?
(Robin's mouth falls as she shakes her head.)
Robin: Sorry Patrick, but I get the bigger closet. I have more, well I would hope, that I have more clothes than you… and besides, in a few months, I will have to buy a whole new wardrobe. You, my genius boyfriend, get the smaller closet. (Smiles) Next request?
Patrick: Okay… I get to choose the next movie for movie night.
(Robin pretends to think for a moment as she places her finger on her lips.)
Robin: Okay, I can go for that.
(Patrick sighs as he walks toward the refrigerator.)
Patrick: Thank goodness, because if I had to sit through Goonies one more time.
Robin (rolls her eyes): Okay… just because I do not salivate when George Lucas comes out with another Star Wars does not mean that I have bad taste in movies.
(Robin turns around and watches him dig in her fridge for milk.)
Patrick: You are totally stuck in the eighties.
Robin: Just because I don't go gah-gah over prequels to classic movies that were better left alone?
Patrick: No, simply because a good movie to you needs two things – one of the two Coreys or Molly Ringwald.
Robin: Hey… don't knock the Breakfast Club or Stand by Me.
(Patrick opens up a carton of milk and drinks directly from the carton. Robin watches him. She wants to say something so badly… but he looked so sexy in that moment. Standing in the light of her fridge in only his boxer shorts. She so loved this man!)
Robin: Those movies are classics.
Patrick: If you're stuck in the eighties…
Robin: Dirty Dancing?
Patrick: Good movie, but not a classic.
(Robin walks over to the fridge and reaches around him for a bottle of water.)
Robin: Raiders of the Lost Ark?
Patrick: Harrison Ford at his finest.
Robin: Shocker! We agree on something.
(Patrick lowers the carton of milk onto the counter then pulls Robin toward him.)
Patrick: Maybe there's hope for us yet.
(Robin laughs as Patrick leans down and gently kisses her. There was hope for them. And a lot of it. Patrick pulls away and looks back at Robin smiling then closes the refrigerator.)
Patrick: You know, I was right about something earlier.
Robin (smiling): What?
Patrick: I really do like you, Scorpio.
Robin: Good… because I like you too. A lot.

- The Next Day
Setting: The Bedroom in Robin's Apartment
(It's a quiet late summer morning. Robin is standing in front of her closet trying to decide what she should wear. Patrick insisted that Robin took a few days off… so instead of arguing with him, she took a few days off. Over by the bed, Patrick slowly starts to wake up and instinctively starts to reach for Robin. His eyes shoot open when he feels nothing but emptiness next to him, then sits shooting up. Patrick sighs somewhat relieved when he spots Robin standing in front of her closet staring absently into it. He continues to quietly watch her as she finally reaches toward a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. He loved watching her. With subtle ease, Robin removes the nightshirt she was wearing, revealing her entire body and Patrick continues to simply watch her. She was so breathtakingly beautiful. She had no idea. Patrick scoots up in the bed and clears his throat. Hearing him, Robin turns around and smiles.)

Robin: Good morning.
Patrick: It is now.
(Patrick extends his hands and opens them toward her.)
Patrick: Come here.
(Robin looks down, smiling then walks over to him. She runs her hands along Patrick's bare arms then leans in and kisses him tenderly again and again. When she pulls away, Robin looks back at him simply as she puts on her bra then steps into her underwear.)
Robin (softly): I called Noah and told him that we would meet him at GH later in the morning.
(Patrick rubs his eyes as he wakes himself up.)
Patrick: I'll just hop into the shower.
Robin (watches him): Okay… maybe I'll make us some breakfast.
(Patrick looks down at Robin as he stands up.)
Patrick: Are you hungry?
Robin: No, but I thought you might be.
(Patrick leans down and kisses Robin's forehead then looks at her.)
Patrick: We could just grab something at Kelly's. You don't need to cook.
(Robin smiles as she takes both of Patrick's hands and looks back at him.)
Robin (smiles): I really don't mind. I can cook something.
Patrick: I know you can… but I mind. (Touches her face) Let's just eat out.
(Robin smirks as she diverts her eyes.)
Robin: You are going to an overprotective pain for the next nine months, aren't you?
(Patrick smiles as he starts toward the bathroom.)
Patrick: Not at all. (Smiles wider) I was aiming for much longer than nine months.
(Robin laughs as she hears Patrick close the door to their bathroom. She watches him then sighs as she sits down on the bed bringing her clothes with her. For the first time, Robin looks down at her very flat stomach and hesitantly touches it. She awkwardly opens her mouth then stops. Without making any noise, Patrick opens the door to the bathroom after realizing he forgot a towel. He stops short when he sees Robin staring down at her flat stomach with her hand resting on it. Robin sighs slightly then finally finds her voice.)
Robin: Hey there, little pal. Your daddy and I…
(Robin releases a loud breath as Patrick's eyes widen slightly. “Your daddy and I.”)
Robin (softly): We're going to go see your grandpa Noah and he's going to… (Emotionally) I probably shouldn't even be doing this yet.
(Patrick starts to step forward then stops. Robin needed to do this by herself and he knew that.)
Robin: I just wanted to let you know that I will do everything in my power to protect you. Your father and I both will, I promise.

Setting: General Hospital
(The hospital is busy today. Nurse Elizabeth Spencer is filing behind the nurses' station when the elevator doors open revealing Robin Scorpio and Patrick Drake. She sighs relieved as she leaps from behind the desk. She immediately runs toward Robin and hugs her.)

Liz: Thank God, you're okay.
(Robin smiles as she pulls away from her friend.)
Robin: I'm fine. Absolutely fine.
Liz: Lucky filled me in on everything. Are you really okay? And your mom?
Robin: She's fine, too. She's staying at the Metro Court for now.
Liz: And your dad is staying on Luke's boat?
Robin: For now, I guess.
Liz: Wow! (Looks at Patrick) And you're okay too?
(Patrick smirks as he looks back at Liz.)
Patrick: Nurse Spencer, is that concern I hear in your voice?
Liz: I have concern for you as Robin's boyfriend – that's all. (Genuinely) But, you're okay?
(Patrick nods then wraps his arm around Robin's waist.)
Patrick: I'm perfectly fine.
Liz (relieved): Good. (Looks at Robin) You're not here for work, are you? I thought for sure you'd take a few days off.
Robin: Actually, I'm just here to see Noah.
Liz: Oh, okay. He's in exam room #4, I think.
Robin (smiles): Thanks, Liz.
(Robin glances toward Patrick and smiles, then starts toward the empty hospital room. She knocks nervously on the door then opens it slowly. Noah looks up from the file he was reading then smiles brightly at the sight of his son and the girl he truly grew to care about. He stands up and opens his arms.)
Noah: Robin.
(Robin smiles as she walks into Noah's welcoming arms and hugs him tightly. He looks at her as they pull apart.)
Noah: How are you feeling?
(Robin runs her hands along her face and sighs tiredly.)
Robin: Physically? I'm fine.
(Noah looks directly at her.)
Noah: And everything else?
Robin: Honestly?
Noah: Always.
Robin: Overwhelmed.
(Patrick looks down as Noah glances toward his son then back at Robin.)
Noah: Maybe today we can ease some of your fears. (Looks at Patrick) Both of your fears.
(Noah carefully looks at Robin and sighs.)
Noah: Have you been feeling any discomfort?
(Robin just looks back at Noah, somewhat confused.)
Robin: Discomfort?
Noah: Like cramping or…
Robin: Oh. (Looks at Patrick) The baby? (Shakes her head) No.
Noah (nods): Good. (Looks at Patrick) Patrick, I called your friend, Melanie, and consulted with her briefly. She thinks that it might not be too soon to have a preliminary ultrasound. (Looks at Robin) That is, if you're up for it.
(Robin stares back at Patrick, somewhat speechless.)
Robin: Ultrasou… but why? It's too soon!
Noah: You were under a lot of stress, Robin. You were kidnapped. (Simply) We honestly probably won't see anything, but if you'd like… we can make sure everything is okay.
(Robin looks back at Patrick again, still at a loss for words.)
Patrick: I think it's too soon, Dad.
(Robin looks back at Noah.)
Robin (flustered): It's just… it's just too soon.
(Noah carefully moves toward Robin.)
Noah: I know. It won't put you or your child in danger, I promise. (Looks at Patrick) I promise, Patrick. (Looks at Robin) This test will really just insure that everything is okay.
(Robin closes her eyes for a moment and releases a shaky, held breath. Patrick starts to walk toward her, but stops once she opens her eyes and looks at him.)
Robin: I'll do it.
Noah: Thank you.
(Without any words, Patrick simply walks over to Robin and tenderly kisses the top of her head.)
Patrick (softly): I love you.
Robin: I know.
(Noah walks over to the ultrasound machine and starts setting it up. Patrick helps Robin onto the table. He watches without words as she lies back on the exam table. This was becoming realer by the moment for them. Patrick looks up when he suddenly feels his father next to him.)
Noah: Again, we probably won't see anything.
(Robin just nods as Patrick stands silently next to her. He closes his eyes for a moment then suddenly feels her hand grip his and in that moment, Patrick simply reopened his eyes and raised their joined hands and kissed hers. Robin closes her eyes as Noah slowly begins examining her with Patrick next to them. He was right. They really couldn't see anything, but they could see something. Patrick gasps slightly and tugs on Robin's hand.)
Patrick: Sweetie, look.
(Robin opens her eyes slowly and turns her head.)
Patrick: I think that's your uterus.
(Robin groans loudly as Noah laughs slightly.)
Noah: Give the neurosurgeon a gold star.
(Noah continues to examine Robin. He points toward the screen.)
Noah: It looks like you're about five or six weeks pregnant, if I had to make a guess.
(Patrick glances at Robin and they share a secret recognition. Their first night of vacation, most likely.)
Noah: Do you see your gestational sac?
Robin: That's the black area inside the white circled area, right?
Noah: Yep.
Patrick: And the yolk sac…
Noah: Is that small white circle at upper right of sac.
Robin (nervously): Everything looks okay, right?
Noah: Everything looks perfect.
Patrick: And it's too soon to see anything, right?
Noah: Yes, but we got to see what we needed to. Everything is developing as should be.
(Robin sighs a sigh of relief as Patrick nods as well. Noah starts to shut down the machine.)
Noah: You know, you two have to start thinking of who's going to be your doctor for this.
Patrick: We will.
Robin: We just wanted to make sure everything was okay since the last few days have been crazy.
Noah: No, I understand.
(Patrick awkwardly runs his hand across his neck as Robin sits up slowly and fixes her clothing.)
Patrick: About that… Dad, we would like to tell people about this on our own, so do you think you can keep this to yourself, for now?
Noah: Doctor, patient confidentiality.
(Robin looks back at Noah.)
Robin: Thank you. (Smiles) Oh! And thank you for the research folder. I went through them this morning. You were very thorough.
Noah: Of course, I was. This is my grandchild we're talking about, here. (Smiles) The last chance for some good to come out of the Drake gene pool
(Patrick laughs as he hits his father.)
Patrick: Thanks, Dad.
Noah: Anytime.
(Noah pauses for a minute then looks at Patrick.)
Noah: Patrick… before you two run, we need to draw some blood from you.
(Robin looks up and swallows the lump in her throat. Blood for an HIV test. Robin suddenly felt sick to her stomach. Patrick simply nods, nonchalantly, as he rolls up his sleeve.)
Patrick (easily): Not a problem.
(Robin watches Noah move toward Patrick and in a simple gesture begin taking his blood. As hard as she tried, Robin couldn't take her eyes off of the needle. She stared at the red fluid slowly filling up vile after vile. Patrick's blood. Patrick's blood that she may have infected. She absolutely felt sick to her stomach. Robin could feel her insides easing up her throat.)
Robin: Oh God!
(Patrick and Noah both turn their heads simultaneously, just in time to see Robin leap off the exam table and flee the room covering her mouth. Patrick attempts to jerk from his father's grasp to follow her, but Noah holds him in place.)
Noah: I'm almost done.
Patrick: Dad!
Noah (sternly): I'm almost done, Patrick!
(Patrick groans loudly, completely frustrated. He glares back at his father.)
Patrick: We should've done this in private. You should've done this without her in the room.
Noah: Patrick, she knows you had to get tested.
Patrick: But, did she have to literally see it? (Angrily) She doesn't need to see this!
Noah: Like you didn't need to see her ultrasound? (Looks at his son) I watched you, Patrick; you couldn't take your eyes off the screen. (Simply) That was real. (Looks at his son's arm) This, unfortunately, is also real.
(Noah removes the needle.)
Noah: You're done.
Patrick: I need to find Robin.
(Patrick flies from the exam room and immediately runs toward the Nurses' Station to see if anyone's seen her. Meanwhile, in the ladies room, Robin is standing over the sink, gripping the sides of it tightly while attempting to take deep and cleansing breaths. This wasn't working. Robin quickly turns the faucet for the cold water then splashes her face. She lets the cold water soak into her skin and hopes that it can take away the sick feeling in the pit of her stomach. It was working… only slightly. Robin softly pats her face dry and lowers the towel slowly when the door to the bathroom opens revealing Patrick. She looks at him apologetically.)
Robin: Patrick, I'm so sorry.
(Patrick shakes his head and moves over to her.)
Patrick: No need to apologize.
Robin: I can't do this. I can't freak out every five minutes. (Emotionally) I can't do this, Patrick.
(Patrick gently touches the side of her face.)
Patrick: Yes, you can. You are. (Genuinely) You've been amazing, Robin.
(Robin shakes her head.)
Robin: No, I had three meltdowns in the last twenty-four hours. (Frustrated) This isn't “being amazing,” Patrick!
Patrick (softly): Robin…
(Robin looks down and shakes her head.)
Robin (emotionally): Patrick, seeing your blood… watching it being drawn by your father… I just…
(Robin closes her eyes and covers her face with her hands.)
Robin: The idea of infecting you is killing me, Patrick.
(Patrick looks down as well.)
Patrick: I know.
(Robin uncovers her face and looks at Patrick slowly.)
Robin: I'm paralyzed by fear and I don't know what to do.
(Patrick takes Robin's hands and wraps them around him.)
Patrick: Just hold on to me. Come on.
(Robin sighs as she buries her head in Patrick's chest.)
Robin: This is the only time I feel safe.
(Patrick kisses the top of Robin's head.)
Patrick: Good, because I'm not going anywhere.
Robin (softly): I'm sorry that I need you so much.
(Patrick laughs, almost flabbergasted then pulls away and looks down at her sincerely.)
Patrick: Hey… (He lifts her chin) I'm holding on to you just as tight.
(Robin's entire heart melts in that moment as she stares back at him with wide, tear-filled eyes.)
Patrick: I asked my father to put a rush on the test.
Robin: Thank you.
(Patrick touches the side of her face again. He couldn't stop touching her.)
Patrick: So, what do you say? We pick up your prenatal vitamins then we head home?
(Robin looks down and shakes her head.)
Robin: Actually… no.
(Patrick looks back at Robin somewhat concerned.)
Robin (awkwardly): I have to see someone.
Patrick: Okay.
Robin: He's an old friend, a trusted friend. (Sighs) I need to see Kevin Collins. And I think I need to see him as soon as possible.
Patrick (nods quietly): Okay. (Pauses) Can I at least walk you out?
(Robin smiles and takes Patrick's hand into hers.)
Robin: I wouldn't expect less.
(Patrick kisses Robin's hand then they slowly walk out of the ladies' room. Once they leave the bathroom, Robin looks up at him.)
Robin: Hey… you were aware that you came barging into the ladies' room, right?
(Patrick smirks as they walk toward the elevators.)
Patrick: Wasn't a first.
Robin (rolls her eyes): Why am I not surprised?
Patrick (laughs): I don't think anything about me surprises you anymore, Scorpio.
Robin: You say that like it's a bad thing.
(Robin leans into Patrick's chest and sighs.)
Robin: Knowing you is sometimes the only thing that grounds me.
(Patrick kisses the top of Robin's head and rubs her arm.)
Patrick: Then you should feel very grounded… because I don't think anyone has ever known me as well as you do. (Smiles) And you know what they say…
(Robin pulls away laughing.)
Robin: Don't say it.
Patrick (laughing): I'm going to.
Robin (laughing): Please don't!
Patrick & Robin (simultaneously): To know me is to love me!

Setting: Kelly's Diner
(It's in the middle of the day. Patrick Drake opens the door to Kelly's and walks slowly inside the diner. He didn't know where he was going. And that bothered him. For the first time in his entire life, he felt like he was directionless. The only thing he was certain of was who he wanted to travel with, but everything else… everything else was left to question. After leaving the hospital with Robin, he let her have the car, so she can see her old friend Kevin, and he decided to just walk around Port Charles. He somehow ended up here. Patrick walks up to the counter and sits down slowly. He looks up when suddenly Georgie Jones-Hornsby comes flying toward him.)

Georgie (enthusiastically): Patrick!
(Maybe this wasn't the best idea. Patrick smiles awkwardly toward the young woman.)
Patrick: Hi.
(Patrick wasn't as acquainted with the younger Jones sister. He was use to seeing Maxie around the hospital since she was a volunteer. The only times he saw the younger Jones girl was when she was having some sort of crisis – her boyfriend was dying, so they need a quickie wedding; her friend Diego is getting shot at, so she was getting scolded publicly at the hospital. Even though Patrick didn't know her, he knew she was important to Robin… so he smiles politely toward her.)
Patrick: How are you? (Awkwardly) Uh… how's married life?
Georgie (quickly): Great. How's Robin?
(Patrick takes a deep breath and looks down at the menu underneath his fingertips.)
Patrick: She's good.
Georgie (relieved): Thank goodness! I was going crazy not knowing what was going on with her! And Maxie! She was flipping out, because she saw Manny leaving GH! It was horrible, Patrick! Just horrible!
(Patrick nods then looks back up at her.)
Patrick: She's safe now.
Georgie: I know. Thank you for taking care of her. (Smiles) Just so you know, Mac said that you would take good care of her.
(Patrick looks up and smirks slightly.)
Patrick (curiously): He did?
Georgie: And that's high praise coming from Mac, trust me. (Pauses) Maxie, Dillon and I were going to drop by, but we figured Robin might want some time to herself.
Patrick (quietly): Yeah… thank you.
Georgie: Especially with her parents being back and all.
(Her parents. Patrick almost completely forgot that Robin's parents were even back in Port Charles. He had been so wrapped up in THEM becoming parents, he had forgotten all about hers.)
Georgie: Robin must be so psyched! (Looks at him) Is she?
(Patrick opens his mouth to respond and just as he does, Maxie flies up to the counter with her cell phone in one hand and a notepad in the other.)
Maxie: Awesome news! She got an earlier flight!
(At that news, Georgie yelps happily and jumps. Patrick watches confused as the two sisters clap while jumping.)
Patrick (confused): Am I missing something?
(With quickness, Maxie turns toward Patrick and points her cell phone at him.)
Maxie: And you! You can't tell Robin a thing.
Patrick: Okay… that should be easy, since I don't have the faintest idea what you're talking about.
(Georgie looks at Maxie.)
Georgie: Oh, you can tell him – he's safe.
Maxie: You think?
Georgie: Well, it does involve him too!
Patrick (suspiciously): It does?
(Maxie leans in toward Patrick.)
Maxie: Okay… my mom is coming back from Texas!
(Patrick just stares back at Maxie. He had no idea why this would cause such a stir.)
Patrick (awkwardly): That's great, guys.
Georgie: No, you don't get it – my mom is coming back to surprise Robin and her parents! She wants to throw a huge Scorpio reunion party!
Patrick (slowly): Party?
Maxie: More like a barbecue! And we're inviting all of their old friends! Robin's going to be so excited, right!?!?
Georgie: You cannot tell her!
Maxie: Not a word, Dr. Drake. (Smiles) I happen to know where you work.
(Patrick smirks as he looks back at Maxie.)
Patrick: And what do you think you can do to me as a volunteer, Ms. Jones?
(Maxie taps her mouth thinking then smiles widely.)
Maxie (excited): I can tell that guy down in labs that you and Robin broke up!
(Patrick's eyes darken as he sits up straighter.)
Patrick: What guy in labs?
Maxie: The one with the glasses. You know… the one that falls apart every time Robin walks into a room.
(Patrick just stares back at the young woman.)
Patrick: Owen? The lab geek?
Maxie: Hey, remove the glasses and Owen could be some serious competition for you, Dr. Drake.
Patrick (scoffs): Please! I seriously doubt that.
Georgie (teasingly): Hey… is Owen that guy Robin said she felt bad for the other day?
Maxie (trying not to laugh): Oh, she told you about that too?
(Patrick clenches his fists slightly.)
Patrick: Told you what, Georgie?
Georgie: You know… the cups of tea he makes for her.
Maxie: Oh, and how he sorts her lab reports for her.
Patrick (angrily): SORTS HER LAB REPORTS?!?! What the hell!?!?
(Georgie and Maxie burst out laughing as Patrick stares back at them. He was ready to storm back to GH and rip this stupid lab geek's head off for even looking at Robin.)
Georgie: I'm sorry, I couldn't help it. (Looks at Patrick) If you could only see what you look like right now.
Maxie (laughing): And they say that you never lose your cool!
Georgie: “Dr. I don't get jealous.”
(Patrick's head snaps slightly and he looks at Georgie. She was throwing his own words back at him.)
Georgie (laughing): Sorry.
Maxie (laughing): Yeah, so sorry.
Patrick (looks at Maxie): So, Owen doesn't have a crush on Robin?
Maxie: Oh no! He definitely does, but I think every lab guy does. (Simply) Come on, Patrick! Robin is a lab geek's dream girl. She is so smart.
Georgie: And beautiful.
Maxie: She actually likes research.
Georgie: And can understand it.
Maxie: And she's funny.
Georgie: So incredibly funny.
(Patrick looks down, his mind obviously calculating ways to put these lab geeks in their place and remind them that Robin is off limits. He breaks out of his thoughts when Maxie leans in toward him.)
Maxie: So, you're going to make sure Robin comes to my mom's barbecue, right?
(Patrick looks back at her.)
Georgie: And you won't tell her that my mom is back and she's inviting everyone, right? It means a lot to her that this is a surprise for everyone.
(Patrick just looks back at the two girls. He wasn't sure if that was a promise he could keep. Robin was going through so much right now. The last thing she needed was to be bombarded with her entire family at once.)

Setting: The Lighthouse
(Robin Scorpio slowly walks up to Kevin Collin's Lighthouse. She hadn't been there in so long. Actually, the last time she was there was when she struggled with starting her HIV protocol. Kevin helped her then. Kevin always helped her. He helped Stone; he helped Mac; he even helped Sonny when he needed it. And for all those reasons, she simply adored Kevin Collins and always will. Robin smiles when the door finally opens revealing Lucy Coe. And in that moment, Robin felt like she was officially back in Port Charles. She yelps slightly as Lucy pulls her into her arms and hugs her tightly.)

Lucy (happily): ROBIN!
(Lucy pulls Robin further into the Penthouse.)
Lucy: Doc told me you were on your way over! How are you?!?!
Robin: I'm good. How are you? How was New York?
(Lucy pulls Robin onto the couch next to her.)
Lucy: New York City was great. Kevin loved teaching at NYU and I loved, loved, loved working at Jax Cosmetics NY! But, it wasn't Port Charles. We missed our friends. We missed being here, so when Doc got the call about the teaching job at PCU… there wasn't even a moment of hesitation.
(Robin smiles.)
Robin: Well, I can't even begin to tell you how much everyone missed you.
Lucy: And I missed all of you! Speaking of which, how is my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Felicia Jones?
(Robin smiles. She sincerely missed Lucy Coe.)
Robin: Felicia's good. She's in Texas taking care of Mariah.
(Lucy pouts slightly as she crosses her arms over her chest.)
Lucy: I was hoping she'd be back by now.
(Suddenly Lucy's entire face brightens up and she looks back at Robin.)
Lucy (excited): WAIT! Speaking of being back?!?! Is it true that your parents are back?
(Robin looks down and nods.)
Robin: Yes, it is.
(Lucy settles down a bit.)
Lucy: From the dead? Wow. (looks at her) You must be thrilled, right?
(Robin looks back up at Lucy and smiles awkwardly.)
Robin: Of course.
Lucy (babbling): I always loved Robert and Anna. (thinking) I don't know if they necessarily loved me, but I thought they were great… with all their adventures and romance. (looks at Robin) Are they still together?
(Robin starts to say something then shakes her head slightly.)
Robin (awkwardly): No.
(Lucy sighs slightly just as Kevin appears from the kitchen wiping his hands on his pants.)
Kevin (happily): ROBIN!
(Robin smiles as she stands up and hugs Kevin tightly.)
Kevin (pulling away): I thought I heard your voice. Sorry, I didn't hear the door.
Lucy (to Kevin): Do not even worry about it! Robin and I were doing some very necessary catching up.
Kevin (curiously): Really?
(Kevin sits down in the armchair next to his couch and watches as Lucy leaps right back into interrogation mode.)
Lucy: Robin was just telling me about her parents. (comes to a realization) Hey! How about you? Are you seeing anyone special?
(Robin awkwardly starts to speak, but before she can… Lucy is already on her next question.)
Lucy: And what is this I hear about Emily Quartermaine and Sonny Corinthos? (makes a face) Can you just say, “eww!”
(Robin is forced to laugh a bit.)
Robin: It is a strange pairing. One I never really saw coming.
Kevin: I bet.
Lucy: And Jason! He must be flipping out! (looks at Robin) Is he flipping out?
(Robin awkwardly looks down at her hands.)
Robin: I really wouldn't know.
(Lucy looks at Robin then at Kevin.)
Lucy: Oh. (mouths to Kevin) Sorry.
(Robin looks back up at Lucy and waves her hands. She could immediately tell that Lucy misinterpreted something.)
Robin: No, no! Jason and I are fine. I mean, we're not fine, like as in together, but we're okay.
(Kevin clears his throat as he stands up while looking at his girlfriend.)
Kevin: Lucy, didn't you have some errands to run today?
Lucy (thinking): Not really. I wanted to see Felicia, but she's obviously not here. And Luke is supposedly working on some boat and I kind of get seasick and…
(Lucy suddenly notices Kevin glaring at her and nods politely toward Robin.)
Lucy: Apple picking.
Robin (confused): Apple picking?
(Kevin holds the side of his head.)
Kevin: Don't ask. Lucy wants to learn how to bake fresh apple pies.
(Robin looks back at Lucy surprised.)
Robin: Really?
Lucy: Fresh apple pies! (looks at her) I can so do this! (looks at her watch) I better go. (looks at Robin) Do you know if there is like a peak apple picking time?
Robin: I don't think so.
Lucy: Good.
(Lucy walks over to Kevin and kisses him quickly.)
Lucy: See you soon, Doc.
(Kevin laughs slightly as Lucy turns around and looks at Robin again.)
Lucy: And you! It is so good to see you! We must do lunch! You know, maybe a day at the spa… mani, pedi, facial!
(Lucy hugs Robin again.)
Lucy: I get so happy when I see you. (looks at Kevin) Don't you, Doc?
Kevin (tiredly): Yes I do, Lucy.
Lucy: Okay, I'll leave now! (runs toward the door) Ta!
(The very moment the door closes, Robin doubles over in laughter. She starts laughing so hard that pure tears of laughter being rolling down her face.)
Robin: Oh my goodness, I so needed that!

Setting: Kelly's Diner
(Patrick Drake stands up from the counter and throws down a fifty dollar bill. Georgie runs out from the kitchen and quickly wipes up the counter as Patrick places his wallet back in his pocket. She looks down at the fifty dollar bill then back at him.)

Georgie: Wait, Patrick! You need change.
Patrick (waves toward her): Keep it. (smiles) Put it toward a honeymoon.
(Georgie smiles then places the bill in her apron. Patrick glances down at his watch then starts toward the door of the diner. He stops short when Lucky Spencer and Nikolas Cassidine walk through the same door. There's still a distinct sense of dislike between Nikolas and Patrick. Both men glare at each other for quite some time until Lucky steps forward, clearing his throat.)
Lucky: Hey Patrick.
(Patrick simply nods as he shoves his hands into his jean pockets.)
Lucky: How's Robin?
Patrick: She's good. Thank you.
Nikolas (looks at him): So, is that why you're not with her, right now?
(The temperature just dropped about twenty degrees between the three men. Lucky awkwardly clears his throat and attempts to subtlety make his way to stand between Patrick and Nikolas.)
Lucky: Patrick, I just came from seeing my dad. I thought I should give you a head's up. Robert is leaving town tomorrow.
(Patrick's entire face falls slightly with disappointment.)
Patrick (shocked): Tomorrow?
(Lucky shrugs his shoulders.)
Lucky: I just happened to be there when the call came in.
Patrick (angrily): Did Robert even mention his daughter at all?
Lucky: Patrick, I'm just the messenger.
Patrick (annoyed): He is aware that he has a daughter who might need him, right? She's going through a lot of things right now and he decides to up and leave?!?!
Nikolas (sarcastically): Hmmm… Robin seems to have the honor of only having the best of men in her life.
(Nikolas walks past Patrick and Lucky. Patrick's eyes follow Nikolas to the counter. He was seriously ready to knock the prince into next week. Lucky steps forward and touches Patrick's arm.)
Lucky: Don't pay him any mind.
(Patrick looks back at Lucky.)
Patrick: Really?
Lucky: Nikolas was very close to Robin when she was with Jason. That's just residual anger.
Patrick: Hey! That's cool. He can hate Jason all he wants, but until I turn my scalpel in for a hand gun, get blue contacts, dye my hair blonde and lose the ability to speak… he needs to seriously step off. (extremely frustrated) I'm really not in the mood for his attitude right now.
Lucky (taken back): Whoa! Okay. Again, I just thought maybe you could give Robin a head's up.
Patrick (angrily): She shouldn't have to keep continuously getting these head's ups! (frustrated) Doesn't anyone else see the pressure she is under? Does anyone even care? Of course not! As long as she's there to heal the city of Port Charles, no one gives a… (runs his hand through his hair) I'm not doing this with you. I have to go!

Setting: The Lighthouse
(Robin Scorpio and Kevin Collins are sitting on his couch, both holding cups of tea in their hands.)

Kevin: I was surprised to get your call.
Robin: Really?
Kevin: Not surprised that you wanted to catch up.
Robin (looks up): More surprised that I wanted a session?
Kevin: I missed our talks, Robin.
(Robin nods as she lowers her mug onto Kevin's coffee table.)
Robin: Me too. More than you know.
Kevin: So, Lucy asked you about your parents. How's that coming along?
(Robin smiles as she looks back at Kevin.)
Robin: That is a very polite way of asking how we're getting along. (sighs) Has Uncle Mac said anything to you?
Kevin: Between several grunts and colorful expletives, sure he's said tons.
Robin: My father… (looks down) He let me believe that he was brutally murdered. (pauses) I'm struggling with that.
Kevin: And you don't feel like you should be?
(Robin looks back at Kevin and sighs.)
Robin: No, I feel like my anger is justified. I guess, I'm more struggling with merging the man I grew up idolizing and the man he is now. They're two different people in my mind.
Kevin: Do you think that's possible? Or do you think that person who your father is now was always there, but you just chose not to see it?
Robin: That's possible. I mean, I was only 13 when he left. (looks down) But even though I was young… I knew my father. I knew who he was.
Kevin: Who was he?
Robin: My hero. My role model. He taught me everything about honesty, integrity, security. (tearfully) He was one of the good guys and I was so proud of him.
Kevin: And was he proud of you?
Robin: Back then? (softly) Yeah. (laughs) We were so much alike and we use to fight… so much.
Kevin: I get the impression the fights weren't hurtful.
Robin: Back then? No. It was more of a power struggle. I wanted to be treated as an adult and he wanted me to be his little girl.
(Robin looks down at her hands.)
Robin: And now he wants me to be… I have no idea what he wants me to be. (looks at Kevin) My father is a stranger to me and it hurts.
Kevin: How has he explained his absence?
Robin: He said that I was in danger and that he wanted me to remember the father I had – not who he had become. (thinks) I can't really knock him for that now seeing who he is, can I?
Kevin: Is there anything your father could do that would make you see a glimmer of who he use to be?
Robin: Show me that I matter. (looks down emotionally) My Dad… he was an amazing father. There was never a time, growing up, that I doubted my importance to him.
Kevin: And now?
Robin (laughs): The only thing I don't doubt is my last name.
Kevin: And where does your mother fall in this?
Robin (sighs): My mom. She's been back for a few years, but she was presumed dead as well. She's in the middle of this all. She's angry on my behalf, I guess.
Kevin: And you? Are you angry with her?
Robin: It wasn't her fault she was missing. She had amnesia.
Kevin: But were you angry with her?
(Robin nods while looking down.)
Robin (softly): A little. Yeah. (plays with her skirt) You know, when Stone died, when things fell to the wayside with Jason… I needed my mom. (looks at Kevin) You were there. I was drowning, Kevin. I was dealing with things a seventeen year old should never have to deal with… and to know that they were out there. It blows me away. I mean, shouldn't they have felt it?
Kevin: Felt your need?
(Robin leans in toward Kevin.)
Robin: As a parent, aren't you connected to your child?
Kevin: Depends. Wouldn't you say you're connected to Mac?
Robin: Definitely. Without a doubt. I mean, I was in Paris and he would know when to call me.
Kevin: So, connections are then possible?
Robin (nodding): I guess they are.
(Kevin shifts on the couch slightly.)
Kevin: So, how are you otherwise?
Robin (sighs): Otherwise?
Kevin: I might've heard grumblings from your uncle about you having a boyfriend.
(Robin smiles as she blushes slightly.)
Robin: Uncle Mac said that?
Kevin: He said more like, “Robin has a new boyfriend that drives me crazy in a whole other way.”
Robin: Dare I ask how?
Kevin: He said it's the way he looks at you.
(Robin covers her face embarrassed and shakes her head.)
Robin (groans): Forget I asked!
Kevin (laughs): Hey! I'm just repeating what your concerned uncle said. (seriously) Honestly, Robin he seems to like your new guy… as much as Mac ever could.
Robin (softly): I hope so. (looks down at her hands) It would mean a lot to me if he did.
Kevin: Why is that?
Robin (looks at him): Because it's Uncle Mac. I always wanted his approval. I know that may be a shocker to you, considering some of my past decisions – you know, with Stone and Jason. But Uncle Mac eventually accepted Stone and that made the world of difference for me.
Kevin: And Jason?
Robin (laughs): There is nothing Jason could ever do that would have Uncle Mac even remotely like him.
Kevin: How does that make you feel?
Robin (shrugs): Indifferent. (sighs) Maybe not. It makes me feel proud to be his niece. He makes me feel protected. (looks down) The way a guardian should, I guess.
Kevin: Do you still consider Mac your guardian?
(Robin looks up at Kevin and laughs.)
Robin: Oh! Uncle Mac would love if I said “yes” right now! (smiles) But, no… I know I'm a supposed grownup. I just… I like knowing Uncle Mac is there for me.
(Robin looks down and tearfully sighs. Kevin watches her quietly then leans in toward her.)
Kevin: Robin, is there something else on your mind?
Robin: I don't know if I'm going to be a good parent.
(Robin looks back at Kevin and nods.)
Robin: There I said it! I think my parents screwed me up so much that I don't know how good of a mom I'd be.
Kevin: And why are you thinking about this now?
Robin: Because I'm pregnant. (simply) I'm going to be someone's mom… and now it's all I can think about.

Setting: The Haunted Star
(Luke is wiping down the bar as Robert lines up a row of shot glasses. From behind the bar, Luke looks up when Lucy Coe appears at the entrance holding… a basket of apples.)

Luke: Now, I know I'm dreaming.
Lucy: Hey handsome!
(Luke walks around the bar and hugs Lucy tightly. As they pull apart, Lucy smiles toward Robert.)
Lucy: And hello to you, stranger.
Robert (nods): Hello Ms. Coe.
(Lucy smiles as she sits down next to Robert at the bar and plops down her basket filled with apples.)
Lucy: You'll never believe who I saw today.
Luke: Johnny Appleseed?
(Lucy rolls her eyes then looks directly at Robert.)
Lucy: None other than Robin Scorpio. (smiles) It's like a whole Scorpio reunion in Port Charles, huh? Where's Anna hiding out?
(Robert looks down for a moment then back at Lucy.)
Robert: How was she?
Lucy (confused): Anna?
Robert: Robin!
Lucy: Oh! She was perfect! (shrugs) She was Robin, you know!
(Robert just nods. Before he can say anything else, Patrick Drake bursts into the Haunted Star and walks directly toward Robert.)
Patrick (angrily): Let me ask you – do you even care about your daughter at all?
(Robert stands up annoyed.)
Patrick: Does she even come up on your radar in the slightest?!?!
(Lucy turns and looks at Luke.)
Lucy: Let me guess – this is Robin's new boyfriend!
Luke: Give the lady a dirty martini. (leans in) Emphasis on dirty!
(Meanwhile, Patrick points toward Robert fuming.)
Patrick: We need to talk!
Robert (appalled): WE need to talk?!?!
Patrick: Yes, we do. Me and you.
Robert: Fine. Follow me… on the deck.
(Robert walks out of the bar and Patrick follows him, with both fists clenched. Once they're gone, Lucy turns and looks at Luke.)
Lucy: Wow! No wonder Robin's forgotten all about Jason.
(Luke raises his shot glass and looks at Lucy.)
Luke: Let's just hope Junior Drake knows how to swim!

Setting: The Lighthouse
(Robin is sitting on Kevin's couch staring at the hem of her skirt. She looks up when Kevin reappears from the kitchen holding another cup of tea. He hands it to Robin as he sits down across from her.)

Kevin: So, how do you feel about your pregnancy?
Robin: I have so many things running through my mind, Kevin.
Kevin: Well, just give me some of those thoughts.
Robin: My first instinct is pure happiness. I love Patrick and love the idea of having a child with him. (softly) And I always wanted to be a mom.
Kevin: But…
Robin: But, I could've infected the man I love with HIV and that's something I'm struggling with.
Kevin: How's your viral load?
Robin: Undetectable.
Kevin (nods): That's hopeful, right?
Robin: It is. (strongly) I know that it is.
Kevin: And how's Patrick dealing with it?
Robin: He's been perfect. (looks down) He has to be scared. He just doesn't say anything.
Kevin: What would you want him to say?
(Robin looks back at Kevin.)
Robin: I don't know.
Kevin: Okay, can I speak to you as a doctor? (simply) There is always a slight chance that you transmitted HIV to Patrick. There is always that chance; I won't deny that. However, your viral load is undetectable. There is a very good chance that Patrick is fine. And I think you know that.
(Robin nods quietly.)
Kevin: Robin, I know how hard this must be for you. (leans in) I, of all people, know how hard this must be for you. (she looks back at him) I had many similar conversations with Stone.
(Robin releases a held breath and wipes her eyes as she leans back on the couch.)
Kevin: But, your case isn't Stone's. And you and Patrick didn't repeatedly have unprotected sex.
(Robin looks down and nods. She was hearing him.)
Kevin: Robin, did you ever regret being with Stone?
(Robin's head shoots up.)
Robin: No. Never! The only regret I had, we both had, was that we weren't smarter, but the act of being with him… no.
(Kevin nods then gently touches Robin's hand.)
Kevin: So, why would Patrick? (simply) You were smart; you were informed. Robin, you used protection each and every time.
Robin: I just… HIV was supposed to be my deal – not Patrick's and certainly not an innocent child's.
Kevin: Robin, you are talking about “what-if's.”
Robin: But…
Kevin: Okay, so what do you intend to do for the next 6 months? Hold your breath until Patrick's test results come back?
(Robin starts to talk but then stops.)
Kevin: You would miss out on two-thirds of your pregnancy. (looks at her) And what are you going to do after that? Wait another 6 months? (simply) Robin, you can't spend the next year and a half waiting for a test result that may never come.
(Robin emotionally nods.)
Kevin: And I think you already know that. (softly) Because you lived it. You were able to put your fears aside and spend an amazing moment of time with Stone. (sighs) You're going to have to do that again.
(Robin looks back at Kevin and wipes her eyes.)
Robin: You're no longer talking to me as a psychiatrist, are you?
Kevin: No. I'm talking to you as your friend. Robin, you will have regrets if you spend your entire pregnancy in fear. And you will have even more regrets if you push Patrick away because of those fears. (strongly) You are absolutely right. I am not talking to you as a professional. I am not being impartial. Robin, I am terrified for you… because I've seen you shut down, but I've also seen you live your life to the fullest. I am asking you to choose the latter. I'm begging you to, Robin.
Robin (emotionally): I want to. (breathes) I do.
(Kevin reaches toward Robin and takes her hands in his.)
Kevin: Then do it. You are so much stronger than you give yourself credit for. (smiles) And you're pregnant, Robin!
(Robin laughs emotionally.)
Kevin (enthusiastically): You're pregnant! (happily) Come on! You're pregnant!
(Robin laughs again and for the first time her laughter is genuine as Kevin pulls her into his arms.)
Kevin: This is amazing! And you want it! So, enjoy it. Okay? (she nods) And in case I didn't say it – congratulations.

Setting: The Deck of the Haunted Star
(Patrick Drake is gripping onto the railing of the boat. Gripping so hard that his knuckles are becoming white. Robert Scorpio leans over and glances at them.)

Robert: Don't you need circulation as a surgeon?
(Patrick flips around and looks at Robert.)
Patrick: Why did you tell Robin that we wouldn't last?
(Robert sighs loudly.)
Robert: I guess, my daughter told you that I wasn't fond of you.
Patrick (angrily): You told her we'd end up badly.
Robert: Correct.
Patrick: Where do you get off saying that?
Robert: Are you saying you won't?
Patrick (angrily): You don't know me! And you sure as hell don't know your daughter!
Robert: How can you say that?!?!
Patrick: Because if you knew her, you wouldn't leave her. (strongly) You would never leave her!
Robert: Patrick, my daughter and I…
Patrick: Your daughter?!?! Do you hear yourself?!?! This is your daughter! She is your child. Your flesh and blood. How can you just turn your back on her?
Robert: Robin is a grown woman, a fact that she's told me more than once.
Patrick: Was she a grown woman when you abandoned her before? She was thirteen years old! Thirteen! (softly) How? How could you do it?
(Robert just looks down.)
Robert (softly): She's no longer thirteen, Dr. Drake.
Patrick: And you think that makes her need you any less? (steps toward him) She will always need you. Robin is stubborn. (runs his hand behind his neck) I know she is stubborn. She's the most stubborn woman I've ever met, but you have to keep coming back. You have to keep pushing down her walls!
(Robert shakes his head.)
Robert: You talk about her like I don't how stubborn she is. (simply) She is my daughter, Dr. Drake. Who do you think gave her that stubbornness?
Patrick: Then, you more than anyone should know that she needs you more than ever. (simply) You can't run off again without making peace with her. She needs to make peace with you.
Robert: Peace? You honestly think Robin and I will ever come to peace?
Patrick: I don't know. (sighs) But you have to try. (desperately) You have to! A child always needs their parent. It doesn't matter how old they are, how big… she is a part of you. The best part of you. (softly) The flawless parts of you.
(Robert looks back at Patrick curiously. Something was different about the younger Drake today.)
Robert: What's going on with you and my daughter? What's changed between the two of you?

Setting: The Lighthouse
(Kevin is helping Robin gather up her things. They both look up when suddenly Kevin's answering machine clicks on and Felicia Jones' voice fills the room.)

Felicia: Hi Kevin! Hi Lucy! It's Felicia! I'm home!
(Robin looks at Kevin with widened eyes.)
Felicia: I'm calling because tonight I'm throwing a barbecue for Robin and her uncle. It's a surprise.
(Robin looks at Kevin.)
Felicia: I'm inviting all their friends… and of course Robin's parents! It's going to be great! Hope you can come!
(And before Robin can say anything, her cell phone rings as well and she answers it.)
Robin: Hello? (listens) Maxie. Hey. (listens) Tonight? Sure. (listens) I'll invite Patrick and Noah. Okay. Talk to you later. Bye Maxie.
(Robin closes her cell phone and sighs as she looks back at Kevin.)
Robin: Surprise family gathering.
Kevin: Robin, what we discussed here will stay here.
Robin: I know.
Kevin: And when you decide to tell everyone about the pregnancy is up to you. No pressure.
Robin (smiles): I know that too.
(Robin hugs Kevin tightly.)
Robin: Thank you for everything, Kevin. You are an amazing man. (smiles) And a decent shrink.
Kevin (laughs): I try. (genuinely) It was good seeing you, Dr. Scorpio.
(Robin smiles tearfully then leave the lighthouse. She stops directly outside the door and smiles. Dr. Scorpio. For some reason, hearing those two words come from Kevin's mouth meant the world to her in that moment. She was a doctor. One of her dreams came true. Without realizing it, Robin lowers her hand and touches her stomach… so was another one.)

Setting: Robin's Apartment
(Robin slowly opens the door to her apartment and stops short at the sight of Patrick walking out from her bedroom in only a pair of jeans. She still had to get use to him staying with her. She smiles as she closes the door behind her. He was absolutely gorgeous. Without any words, Robin walks over to Patrick, tenderly touches his heart then kisses him. He smiles as she pulls away.)

Patrick: What was that for?
Robin (smiles): Being shirtless.
(Patrick laughs as he covers Robin's hand, that's resting over his heart, and with his other hand touches the side of her face.)
Patrick: How was your meeting with Kevin Collins?
Robin (nods): It helped. It helped a lot. He actually reminded me of a lot of things.
(Patrick takes Robin's hand and leads her toward the couch. He sits down slowly and instinctively pulls her on his lap. Patrick looks up at her and gently pushes back a strand of her hair.)
Patrick: Like what?
(Robin looks down at her hands.)
Robin: That I can't live in fear and that I'm stronger than I think I am.
(Patrick nods.)
Patrick: That sounds strangely familiar.
(Robin turns her head and looks at Patrick. She smirks slightly.)
Robin: You're biased when you say those things.
Patrick (laughs): Biased? How?
Robin: You love me. (smiling) You have to think those things.
Patrick: No, I don't.
Robin: Oh, so you would be in love with a scared weakling?
Patrick: I wouldn't know. (pushes back another strand of her hair) I've only been in love with one woman. And she's the bravest person I ever met in the world.
Robin (lightly): Wow! In the world?
(Patrick stares at Robin's mouth. He loved her mouth. He loved the way her lips curled when she laughed or the way she bit her bottom lip whenever she was nervous.)
Patrick (softly): In the world.
(Patrick slowly raises his eyes from Robin's mouth then looks directly into her eyes. He loved her eyes; the way they looked vulnerable yet strong all at once. He reaches toward her slowly and caresses the side of her face in his hand.)
Patrick: You are so beautiful, Robin.
(Robin just looks down.)
Patrick: Have I told you lately how happy I am?
(Robin looks back at Patrick tearfully.)
Patrick: And not just because you're safe after all that craziness with Nikolas's grandmother, but even before then when we were away on vacation. (simply) I was genuinely happy. (pushes back her hair) And it's because of you.
Robin (laughs): And nothing to do with yourself?
(Patrick looks back at her.)
Patrick (smiling): Excuse me?
Robin (lightly): I know you must be so PLEASED with yourself.
(Patrick laughs slightly as he pulls her closer to him.)
Robin: You finally broke down Dr. Sourpuss.
Patrick: Well, now that you say it – I am pretty proud of myself.
(Robin rolls her eyes as she rests her head on Patrick's shoulder and nestles further into his arms. He smiles, feeling her ease into his body. It sometimes amazed him how easily they fit together.)
Patrick: You were a hard nut to crack.
Robin: Should I be offended that you're referring to me as a nut?
Patrick (laughs): You referred to me as much worse.
(Robin laughs as she plays with Patrick's hands.)
Robin: True. (looks down at their hands) My uncle is having a barbecue at his house tonight.
(Patrick sighs.)
Patrick: About that… I saw Maxie and Georgie at Kelly's today and they mentioned that their mom is coming back. It's supposed to be a surprise, but I don't want you to feel overwhelmed.
(Robin smiles and tenderly kisses Patrick's cheek.)
Robin: Thank you. It was supposed to be a surprise, but I was at Kevin's when Felicia called.
Patrick: So, are you close to your uncle's wife?
Robin (nods): Very close. She was like a mom to me after my parents disappeared. (looks down) She was the one that gave me my first sex talk. The one who helped me get ready for the prom. Felicia's been there for me through everything.
(Patrick looks down at his and Robin's interlocked hands.)
Patrick: I… (sighs) I saw your father today.
(Robin looks up slightly.)
Robin: Oh.
Patrick: I actually sought him out.
Robin: Oh.
Patrick: Lucky told me that he was leaving soon.
(Robin sighs and looks down at their hands again.)
Robin (softly): Oh.
Patrick: I asked him to stay.
(Robin simply shakes her head.)
Robin: You shouldn't have.
Patrick: Why not?
(Robin turns around in Patrick's arms and looks at him.)
Robin: A parent should never be forced to love their child. (looks down between them) I mean, I've only known about our baby for days… and already I could never imagine just abandoning it.
(Robin slowly looks back at Patrick and touches the corners of his eyes.)
Robin: And neither could you. (simply) I see it in your eyes.
(Robin stands up carefully.)
Robin: I love you for trying to convince my father to have some sort of relationship with me, but… he has to want me on his own. (pauses) No one can force you to be a parent… or should have to.
(Patrick stands up slowly and starts to follow her.)
Robin: I'll hop in the shower and get ready. (smiles slightly) We have a Scorpio reunion to attend.

Setting: Scorpio-Jones House
(It's a beautiful August night. Robin Scorpio and Patrick Drake slowly step out of his car. Robin sighs as she looks at her childhood home. Patrick notices Robin's hand grip tightly onto his as she gazes toward the window of the room that use to be hers. He turns his head and looks at her.)

Patrick: We can go home.
(Robin shakes her head.)
Robin: No, I can do this. (simply) It's just my family, right?
(Patrick leans in and kisses the side of Robin's head. They both look up when Dillon suddenly appears carrying a rather large watermelon.)
Dillon (smiles): Hey guys! The party is just getting started.
Robin (laughs): Nice watermelon, Dillon.
(Dillon smiles widely.)
Dillon: Any respectable Dirty Dancing fan understands the importance of carrying a watermelon into an awkward situation.
(Robin bursts out laughing as Patrick looks back at her dumbfounded.)
Patrick: How many people did you subject to that movie?
(Robin laughs.)
Robin: Dillon, Georgie and I use to have movie nights when I first came back to Port Charles.
Patrick: And you chose that?
(Robin lifts her hand to stop Patrick from talking.)
Robin: Not a word.
(Patrick laughs as he pulls Robin toward him.)
Patrick: Then, stop me.
(Robin smiles as Patrick leans down and kisses her tenderly. She smiles as she feels his hand gently rest on her waist and touch the small patch of skin between her jeans and buttoned-down blouse. Patrick sighs softly into her mouth at the feel her warmth. He had to get his emotions in check. He wanted her so badly… and he was only mere feet away from her entire family. Patrick pulls away slowly when he hears a cleared throat. Robin smiles widely at the sight of Felicia (played by Kristina Wagner, of course) and immediately runs into her arms.)
Robin (happily): Felicia!
Felicia: Robin! (smiles) Surprise!
(Robin laughs as she pulls away from Felicia.)
Robin: Thank you for this. (smiles) And for coming home.
(Felicia takes Robin's hand and looks at her.)
Felicia: I had to! The chance to see your mom again. (pauses) And your dad.
(And with that, Robin looks down… which doesn't go unnoticed by Felicia. She looks up curiously when Patrick moves forward and touches the small of her Robin's back. Felicia smiles.)
Felicia: You must be Patrick.
(Patrick nods.)
Patrick: Hi.
Robin: I'm sorry. Felicia, this is Patrick… (Blushing) my boyfriend.
(Patrick laughs as Robin covers her face embarrassed. It was insane the things that embarrassed her. Felicia steps forward and smiles.)
Felicia: It's a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Drake.
Patrick: Thank you.
Felicia: You guys should go into the backyard. Mac is grilling and Kevin bought his records. (Smiles) Everyone's here. I'm just going to grab some stuff from inside the house, but you guys should go on ahead.
(Felicia disappears as Robin looks up at Patrick and sighs. She extends her hand toward him and he takes it firmly.)
Robin: Shall we?
(Patrick kisses Robin's hand and they walk toward the back of the house. They see Mac immediately by the barbecue grille. Robin stops and simply watches her uncle for a moment. It amazed her how much she loved him. She leans up and whispers to Patrick that she just wanted to say hello to her uncle quickly. He nods and watches as she surprises her uncle by standing behind him and hugging him tightly. Patrick watches a huge smile appear on Mac's face as he turns around into his niece's arms and hugs her. Patrick had to smile. It was interesting seeing the police commissioner turn into a big pile of mush at the sight of his petite niece. And it was always interesting watching Robin interacting with other people. When they first met, he use to watch with envy. Envy how she smiled at everyone else; laughed with everyone else. And then one day… she slowly started smiling toward him and then started laughing with him. Patrick breathes softly as his mind goes back to a conversation he had with Mac while his father was in surgery months ago.)
Mac: You know, Robin once told me that when she met Noah… she saw herself in his eyes. I don't know. It just made sense somewhat. Noah, from what I heard, was lost. He was living in the past, mourning a love that he couldn't save but wanted to. He once defined greatness. (Looked at him) Robin always had the most beautiful eyes, but a light went out of them a while ago. I didn't realize how much until I saw that light come back.
(Mac reached toward Patrick and patted his shoulder.)
Mac: When Robin asked me to check on you, I came because you brought that light back… not just because she asked me to. (Looked at him) I am grateful to you, Dr. Drake.
(In the present moment, Patrick sighs loudly. He jumps slightly when he sees a bottle of beer appear in front of him.)
Anna: Thought you could use one.
(Patrick nods and takes the cold bottle from Anna's hands.)
Patrick: Thank you.
(Anna turns fully and watches the young man that her daughter was in love with. She didn't know much about Patrick Drake. She only knew what her daughter had told her when they were held captive in the basement of Wyndemere. But, she wanted to get to know him, herself. Patrick takes a large gulp of beer, never taking his eyes off of Robin and Mac.)
Anna: I should be thanking you.
(Patrick turns toward Anna somewhat confused.)
Anna: For bringing her here. (simply) I know she really wasn't up for this.
(Patrick just stares back at Anna. He had no idea what she knew. Did she know Robin was pregnant with his child? Did she know that Robin just spent her entire afternoon on a shrink's couch? And he should probably be lying on one himself? With Anna Devane, there was never any way to know what exactly she knew or what she was thinking. And that unsettled Patrick slightly, but also comforted him. This is where Robin gets her strength from.)
Anna: Robin had successfully distanced herself from a life filled with danger. (Looks toward Robin) I never wanted my life choices to ever touch my daughter. I was extremely naïve to believe that they never would. (Looks at Patrick) How is she?
(Patrick folds his arms across his chest and breathes.)
Patrick: She's Robin.
(Anna nods.)
Anna: Isn't it funny how that one statement can say everything?
(Anna and Patrick both turn toward one another.)
Anna: You know, you helped get us out of those tunnels back at Wyndemere.
(Patrick just looks back at her, not knowing what to say. That entire time he had felt so powerless.)
Anna: There were quite a few times when I didn't think we'd make it out. The air was getting so thick, we couldn't breathe… (He looks back at her) and I asked her to tell me about you. She said some very interesting things.
(Patrick finally smirks.)
Patrick: Should I be scared?
(Anna smiles widely… a smile that makes Patrick look back at her skeptically.)
Anna: Well, is your throat tightening up yet?
(Patrick looks down at the bottle of cold beer in his hands.)
Anna: Then no, I don't think you should be too scared.
(Patrick swallows hard as he looks back at Anna.)
Anna (smiles): My daughter actually likes you a lot. (Leans in toward him) So, I'll at least wait until the next time I meet you before I slip the arsenic or better yet… truth serum in your drink.
(Patrick coughs slightly as Robin walks over to them. She hugs her mom tightly then looks back at her as she pulls away from her.)
Robin: You two never formally met, huh?
(Anna smiles toward her daughter.)
Anna: Besides you telling me that he drives you absolutely crazy and is extremely cocky.
(Robin immediately blushes as she covers her face. Patrick raises an eyebrow and stares back at his girlfriend smirking. Anna, loving this, continues.)
Anna: And how you accept it because he has every reason to be.
(Robin looks back at her mother extremely flustered.)
Robin (embarrassed): I don't remember all that.
Anna: Oh, does saying that he's the smartest man you ever met as well as the most charismatic, ring a bell? How about not being able to imagining living your life without…
(Before Anna can say anything else, Robin leaps toward her mother and covers her mouth laughing.)
Robin: It was the lack of air in the tunnels.
(Robin turns toward a smirking Patrick, still covering her mother's mouth, laughing herself.)
Robin: I was highly delusional.
Patrick (laughs): Right…
(Robin lowers her hand from her mother's mouth and glares at her.)
Robin: So, Mom… any other embarrassing stories you wish to share with Patrick?
Anna (laughs): No, that's good! For now, anyway.
(Robin shakes her head as Patrick leans in toward them.)
Patrick: I'm always up for a good Robin story.
(Robin looks up at him and smiles.)
Robin: I bet you are.
(Anna laughs then looks back at her daughter seriously. She pushes back her hair and looks directly into her eyes.)
Anna: Are you really okay?
(Robin nods.)
Robin: I'm fine, mom – I promise.
Anna: And the cut on your head?
Robin: Superficial.
Anna: The fainting?
(Robin looks down for a moment then back at her mother.)
Robin: Just exhaustion.
(Robin and Patrick both knew she probably fainted due to her pregnancy, but it could've very well been just exhaustion. Patrick watches the two women next to him and his mind starts to wander back to when Robin was missing. She was absolutely right. He was extremely cocky. And he was the smartest man on this earth. Patrick Drake knew all of these things. He was certain of all those things. However, when Robin was missing – he didn't feel any of those things. He didn't feel confident, in the least; he certainly didn't feel smart. And even now, with all the madness going on around him and Robin… he still didn't feel the confidence he use to have. And it wasn't until he watched Robin with her family that he realized why. He never had a weakness before. There was never anything in his life, besides his career, that could be taken from him that would make a significant difference. But, now he had Robin in his life. Everything changed. The mere idea of her not being in his life, made him weak. It made him vulnerable. It made him insecure about his entire life. Patrick suddenly looks at Robin and Anna.)
Patrick: Uh… I forgot my cell phone in the car. I'll be right back.
(Robin watches Patrick run from the backyard and looks at her mother suspiciously.)
Robin: Okay, what did you do to scare him off?
(Meanwhile, Patrick finally stops when he reaches the front of the Scorpio-Jones house. He covers his face and for the first time actually lets the fear wash over him. He has been doing so well, saying all the right things to Robin and for Robin; he hadn't been able to think clearly for himself. Not only was he completely in love with someone besides himself, Patrick was going to become a father. This wasn't the life he ever saw for himself. When he thought of his life, Patrick always saw himself as having an amazing career, an apartment in New York, maybe another one in L.A or London… and beautiful girlfriends, no not girlfriends – lovers, in each city waiting for him on bated breath. He would never settle down. He would never tie himself down to one woman. The thought of that alone use to make him laugh. Women simply bored him. Each and every single one he had ever met would hold his interest for a while… not long. Patrick never had a long attention span. His old college buddy, Michael McBain, use to joke around that Patrick never even needed “a little black book” because by the time he would write down their number, his interest would already have waned off. Michael McBain wasn't that far off. Before Robin, his longest relationship, if one could even call it that, was a fling he had during Spring Break '97 in Cancun with some waitress that worked at dingy bar… and honestly, he just liked her for the free alcohol. Patrick Drake swore to never do relationships. And he swore to never do fatherhood. Fast-forward almost ten years later and he was doing both. And the part that killed him… the part that brought him to his knees and had him fleeing a Scorpio family barbecue, was that he couldn't picture his life now any other way. He couldn't see his life without Robin in it. He needed her much more than he ever thought he would need anyone. And that terrified him… because now for the first time in years, Patrick Drake had something to lose. Patrick takes a deep breath and squeezes the bridge of his nose, attempting to get his emotions and thoughts in check. He jumps from his thoughts when he suddenly feels a hand on his shoulder. Patrick turns around.)
Noah (concerned): Son?
(Patrick quickly stands up. He didn't even realize that he was sitting on the front lawn of the Scorpio-Jones house. Patrick brushes off his jeans.)
Noah: Is everything okay?
Patrick (nonchalantly): Yeah, yeah.
(Noah smiles back at his son.)
Noah: So, did the Scorpio's disown you already?
(Patrick is forced to laugh a bit as he shakes his head.)
Patrick: No, no… I just needed some fresh air.
Noah: Fresh air? I thought it was an outdoor barbecue?
(Patrick looks back at his father.)
Patrick (pointedly): Don't press this, Dad. Okay?
(Noah backs off slightly and holds up his hands.)
Noah: I won't. (Looks around) Is Robin around? I was hoping to grab you both for a moment in private.
(Before Patrick can respond, his cell phone rings and he reaches into his jeans pocket to take it out.)
Robin (smiling): Okay, if you're choosing to run off… I have to tell you, now is a really bad time since half of my family is armed.
(Patrick smiles widely at the sound of Robin's voice and Noah watches his son's entire demeanor change as body becomes more at ease.)
Patrick (lightly): And I was just about to cross the Canadian border.
(Robin laughs as she walks from the back of the house and finds Patrick and Noah on the front lawn.)
Robin: Then, I guess I called you just in time. (Smiles) I'd hate to see you get dragged back here by an angry ex-government agent and an overprotective gun-toting uncle.
(Patrick opens his arms and Robin easily walks into them. He kisses the top of her head softly.)
Patrick: So, I may have to keep you around. (She looks up at him smiling) As a means of protection, of course.
(Robin laughs as Patrick closes his cell phone and shoves it back into his pockets. She turns around in Patrick's arms and looks at Noah.)
Robin: I think my family scared him off.
Noah (laughs): No, it'll make more than that to scare off a Drake. (Smiles) Us, Drakes, have very thick skins and hard heads.
Robin (laughs): Really? (Looks up at Patrick) I haven't noticed that, in the least.
Patrick (smirks): Hey…
(Noah sighs.)
Noah: I'm sorry I'm late.
Robin: Don't worry about it. You didn't miss anything.
Noah: Good. (Pauses) I just hung around the hospital for a while longer after my shift ended. (Looks at them) I just wanted to give you both some information I know you were waiting for.
(Patrick suddenly feels Robin hold onto his waist tighter.)
Robin: Is it Patrick? His test results?
Noah: It came back negative.
(Robin closes her eyes and releases a held breath. Patrick feels her fall slightly in his arms and holds her up.)
Noah: You're HIV-, Patrick.
(Patrick nods and looks directly at his father.)
Patrick: Thank you, Dad.
Noah: I'll give you guys some time alone. (Smiles) And I'll go grab a hotdog.
(Noah discretely walks toward the back of the house. Once they're alone, Robin reaches up and hugs Patrick tightly.)
Robin: Thank God.
(Patrick kisses Robin's shoulder.)
Patrick: I told you not to worry.
Robin: I have to worry, Patrick. (She pulls away and looks at him) You're the man I love. I will always worry.
(Patrick releases a soft breath then simply holds Robin in his arms. Truer words were never spoken. It was funny how Robin was always able to express what he couldn't with such ease. Patrick knew that he will always worry about Robin. She was the woman he loved. And for the first time since all of this began, Patrick truly understood Robin's fears. Just like she was his, he was her weakness. He was her one thing that could be taken from her, that would paralyze her. Patrick closes his eyes. So, this was what love felt like.)

Setting: Scorpio-Jones Backyard
(The night is slowly winding down. At one of the tables, Robin is sitting on Patrick's lap as they laugh with Noah and Anna. Robin loved this. There was a quiet calmness about sitting with the man she loved and their parents. It was refreshingly normal. Robin, Patrick and Noah were filling Anna in on all the happenings of Port Charles she's missed out on. She listened with great pride and interest as Noah went on for way too long about her daughter's brilliance when she saved his life with her assistance in his liver transplant. Anna actually really liked Noah Drake. And it just wasn't that he adored her daughter, which was blatantly obvious… but Noah Drake actually had a great sense of humor and had the same amount of charm as his son. Anna was pleased that her daughter was able to help save his life. She was also pleased that her daughter looked so happy with Patrick Drake. She would glance over at the young couple and watch as he would whisper something into her neck and she would blush for a moment then giggle. Robin looked happy. Genuinely happy. And that made Anna happy… because all she ever wanted for her daughter was safety and happiness. And the way Patrick Drake held onto her daughter, she had the safety part down… and the way her entire body would soften when Patrick played with her fingers, the happiness part was also in tact. Anna was happy. She relaxes slightly as she reaches for another beer and just as she's about to open it, her eyes widen and a coldness washes over them. Patrick is the first to notice the change in her demeanor and instinctively grips onto Robin tighter as he turns around to see what caused this sudden change. He should've known. Robert Scorpio. Oblivious to the recent addition, Robin continues telling Noah about one of her cases and he listens intently offering his own words of wisdom. She turns toward Patrick to get his opinion on something and notices his attention is elsewhere. She follows his eyes as well and takes a deep breath when she sees her father. Robin leans in toward Patrick.)

Robin (softly): It's okay.
(Patrick turns and looks back at Robin.)
Robin: It is.
(Robin touches Patrick's face tenderly then looks up when she sees Felicia fly toward Robert and hug him tightly. Instinctively Mac walks over to where his niece is sitting with Patrick, Anna and Noah. Felicia smiles tearfully at Robert.)
Felicia: It's so good to see you!
Robert: You too. (Pauses) Thank you for the invite.
Felicia: I didn't think you'd come.
Robert: I wasn't going to.
(Robert looks out toward the crowd and finally sees his daughter.)
Robert: But, I wanted to speak to my daughter.
(Felicia turns her head and glances toward Robin.)
Felicia: It seems like she's heavily surrounded.
Robert: Do you think you can get her for me?
Felicia: Robert…
Robert: Please Felicia.
(Felicia releases a sigh, shakes her head then walks toward Robin and her group of bodyguards. Robert watches pensively as Anna immediately starts raving and Mac shakes his head madly. Robin softly speaks to her concerned family members then slowly and carefully removes herself from Patrick's lap. They watch her as she walks toward her father quietly.)
Robin: You wanted to see me?
Robert: Can we do this inside?
(Robin nods then follows Robert inside the house. She watches her father freeze the moment they enter the kitchen. This was once their home. As much as Mac and Felicia redecorated over the years, this was still the Scorpio kitchen. Robin watched her father carefully. He was bombarded with as many memories as she was. At that table was where he helped her with her school election campaign; at that very stove was where Robert burned his hands the one time he tried to make her chicken soup when she was home sick from school… and then proceeded to let his daughter tend to his burnt limbs. Robin quietly walked over to the kitchen table and sat down at it. She watched her father look around the room one last time and then finally face her.)
Robert (breathes): Robin…
(Robin looks down at her hands.)
Robin: You're leaving again, aren't you?
(There was an intense silence, until Robert sits down slowly and carefully across from her.)
Robert: Your boyfriend seems to think you still need me. Do you?
(Robin finally raises her eyes and looks at her father.)
Robin: Do you want me to?
Robert: I don't know.
(Robin nods.)
Robin: Well, we're in agreement about that, because I don't know if I want to need you either.
(Robert places his hands in front of him.)
Robert: I don't know if I remember how to do the father thing, anymore.
Robin: I wasn't aware that was a skill you had to relearn.
Robert: What I'm trying to say, Robin, is that I'm not sure if I can be who you need or give you what you want.
(Robin emotionally wipes her eyes and nods.)
Robin: No, I get it. I know what you're saying. But Dad… I don't need you to wake me up for school every morning. I don't need you to listen about my day or help me with my homework.
Robert: Then, what do you need, Robin?
(Robin looks away for a moment and her eyes suddenly catch a magnet that is resting on the refrigerator. It was so stupid, actually. It was a picture of her and Mac from a Halloween party several years ago. He was dressed up as a bumble bee and she was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. She remembered taking that picture with Mac; Stone had taken it. Robin stares at that picture magnet for several minutes, waiting for an answer to her father's question. She slowly lowers her eyes then looks back at him.)
Robin: I need you to remind me that I matter to you and that you weren't a complete lie. (Looks down) I don't need you to hold my hand when my world gets crazy. I don't even need you to check in with me every single week. I have plenty of other people for that. I just need you to acknowledge me as your daughter. (Emotionally) You were my first love, daddy. (Wipes her eyes) And… I will always need you somewhat, but I'll be okay without you. (Looks at him) But I won't be okay if I continue thinking that I never mattered to you.
(Robert reaches toward his daughter and takes her hands in his.)
Robert: You do matter to me. (Softly) You always will, Robin.
(Robin sighs and she looks down at her and her father's joined hands.)
Robin: These last few days, I've been thinking a lot about being a parent and what makes a good one. (Emotionally) I thought I had most of the answers, but I realized that I don't.
(They both look up at one another.)
Robin: Becoming a parent doesn't make you fearless. It doesn't give you a boundless wealth of knowledge… or even good judgment. (Thinking) I mean, you would like to think it does. You would like to think it changes everything. But you still are who you were before this child came into your life. You still have the same fears. The same insecurities. (Sighs) Now, you just have to learn how to deal with them… if that makes sense.
(Robert looks at their hands again then back at her.)
Robert: You're pregnant, aren't you?
(Robin pulls her hands away from her father and wipes her eyes. She looks down at the table underneath her.)
Robin: No one knows besides Patrick and Noah.
(Robert nods.)
Robert: It makes sense now.
(Robin looks back at Robert.)
Robin: What?
Robert: Patrick was pretty passionate about my failures being a father; much more passionate than he should've been. (Looks at her) How far along are you?
Robin: Not far. I just found out. (Pauses) I didn't tell mom or anyone else yet.
(Robert's entire demeanor changes as he reaches toward his daughter.)
Robert (softly): I missed so many years with you. (She looks back at him) You're having a child, Robin.
(Robin smiles tearfully and nods.)
Robin: Yeah.
Robert: And Patrick is good about this?
Robin: Patrick has been amazing. He's been extremely supportive. (Looks at him) I couldn't do any of this without him.
Robert: I was supposed to leave town tomorrow, to go back to the agency. Patrick asked me to stay. Robin, do you want me to?
(Robin sighs softly and shakes her head.)
Robin: That's the one thing this whole experience has taught me. (Tearfully) Dad, it's not about what I want or need, not anymore. It's about you. You're going to want to have a relationship with me. You're going to have to want to get to know me. (Looks down) I can't force you to love me. (Simply) I shouldn't have to.
(And with that, Robin stands up and walks over to her father. She kisses him tenderly on his cheek then looks at him.)
Robin: Whatever you decide… I will be forever grateful that you left me with an amazing person. The only thing you will never have to doubt was that I didn't have love while you were gone. I had Uncle Mac. And with him, I felt like I had the world. (Tearfully laughs) A sometimes angry world, but he was amazing. So… thank you for giving me him.
(Robin smiles one last time then starts toward the door. She stops one last time before leaving and looks at her father.)
Robin: Take care, Dad.
(Robert watches his daughter leave then closes his eyes. His own baby was having a baby. Robert stands up slowly from the table and for the first time feels every bit his age. He ached. He ached like he had never ached before. Robert takes a deep breath then walks out of the kitchen and heads toward the living room. He was going to walk out the front door – not the back. The moment Robin walks out of the house, Patrick, Mac and Anna run toward her.)
Patrick: Are you okay?
Robin: I'm fine. (Looks at Mac) Absolutely fine.
Anna: Where is he, Robin?
Robin: Dad? I left him in the kitchen, but he probably left.
Mac: He had some nerve showing up here.
(Robin smiles tearfully.)
Robin: No, he actually didn't. We got to say a lot of things that needed to be said. I'm glad he came. (Emotionally) I got to thank him for something I've been meaning to… so it all worked out.
Mac: What the hell for?
(Robin smiles, then shakes her head as she hugs her uncle tightly.)
Robin: You. (Simply) I thanked him
