Chapters 56-60

Setting: Robin & Patrick's Bedroom
(It's late in the evening. Their entire apartment is quiet. Robin is lying face down with a huge smile on her face. Patrick gingerly runs his fingers along her bare back, lulling her to an even more serene bliss.)

Patrick: You're smiling.
Robin (smiling): Yeah, you have a huge scowl on your face.
(Patrick laughs as he leans over toward Robin and softly kisses between her shoulder blades.)
Patrick: That was really amazing.
Robin: The man says modestly.
(Patrick grins widely.)
Patrick: I am never modest when it comes to us. (runs his finger down his back) Especially when we do what we just did.
(Robin blushes brightly as she buries her head in her pillow. Patrick laughs as he watches her. He found her shyness so endearing. Robin slowly turns her head slightly and peaks at him.)
Robin (softly): It felt different, right?
(Patrick turns over on his side and looks at Robin as he runs his fingers up and down her arm.)
Patrick: Good different, I'm assuming?
Robin (smiles): Closer different. (moves closer to him) Nicer different.
(Robin reaches toward Patrick and her eyes focus on an imaginary spot on his shoulder and gently trace small circles around it.)
Robin: I will always be scared for you. Always. (looks at him) But I'm scared for you every day. You're the person I love. (laughs) I'm scared when you cross the street.
(Patrick's eyes soften as he just stares back at her.)
Robin: But this… it feels so right, you know? (simply) It can't be wrong, can it?
(Patrick leans in toward Robin and kisses her tenderly.)
Patrick: Never. (Kisses her again) We are never wrong, Scorpio.
(Patrick pulls Robin toward him and she rests her head on his chest.)
Patrick: But, I could've told you that from the first day we met.
(Robin laughs into his chest.)
Patrick: Don't you ever wonder how it would've been if you just gave into your feelings the first time we met?
(Robin looks up at him.)
Robin: I don't do threesomes, my dear.
(Patrick blushes brightly as he stares up at the ceiling.)
Robin: Can you do me a favor and open your mouth as wide as possible?
Patrick: No.
Robin: Why? You'll need to since you have pretty big feet, Dr. Drake.
(Patrick and Robin both laugh loudly. Laughter that fills the entire room. Eventually once the laughter dies down, Patrick looks down at Robin.)
Patrick: Hey… do you want some ice cream?
(Robin sits up and looks at Patrick, like he's crazy, as she holds the sheet against her body.)
Robin: Are you having cravings?
Patrick (laughs): What? I just thought nice, cold ice cream would be a fitting way to top off the night.
Robin: You are a lunatic. (Kisses him) But, I'll get the ice cream.
Patrick: One carton, two spoons.
(Robin leaps off the bed and grabs one of Patrick's dress shirts. He watches her as she buttons it up. He loved the way she looked in his clothes.)
Robin: I know.
Patrick: And whipped cream.
Robin: Got it.
Patrick: Don't forget hot fudge.
Robin (rolls her eyes): Geesh! You're not picky at all, huh?
(Patrick laughs as Robin walks toward their kitchen. Once she's gone, Patrick stands up and walks over to their dresser. He sees the box that Noah packed for him from his room again. He opens the box again and stares down at it. Patrick looks up when he hears Robin's voice from the kitchen.)
Robin: Double chocolate fudge or cookies & cream?
Patrick: Double chocolate.
Robin: Cherries?
Patrick (smiles): Oh yes! And sprinkles!
Robin (laughs): Okay, you're going to have come out here and help me. I'm a small girl, remember?
(Patrick closes the box he was looking at and walks into their kitchen smiling widely.)
Patrick: So, now you think size matters?
Robin (raises her eyebrow): No, I always knew size mattered.
(Patrick laughs as he picks up the ice cream and two spoons then leans in toward Robin's ear suggestively.)
Patrick: Don't forget the cherries.
(Robin blushes as she looks down. There was something about the way he spoke to her. His voice simply made her melt. Robin reaches for the cherries, whipped cream and hot fudge then places the sprinkles in Patrick's arms.)
Robin: I hope you're hungry, Patrick… because I don't think you can handle all of this.
(Patrick smirks as he looks back at Robin.)
Patrick: Wanna make a bet?

- The Next Day
Setting: The General Hospital Locker Room
(It's early in the morning. Noah Drake is standing in front of his locker changing. He looks up surprised when his son walks into the locker room and opens the locker next to him.)

Noah (surprised): Hey! I'm surprised to see you.
(Patrick turns his head and looks at his father.)
Noah: I thought for sure you and Robin would've taken the day off.
(Patrick opens up his locker and sighs.)
Patrick: Well, we thought about it, but we should keep our days for down the road.
Noah (nods): Makes sense.
(Patrick turns fully toward his father.)
Patrick: Uh… I guess, I should thank you for helping Robin move my stuff into the apartment.
Noah: Well, you know I could never deny that girl anything. (Smiles) Anyway, I got an apartment out of the deal.
(Patrick sighs as he looks back at his locker. There was an awkward silence between father and son.)
Patrick: You saw the ring, didn't you?
(Noah releases a loud breath then stares directly into his locker.)
Patrick: I wouldn't have given Robin the ring without talking to you first.
(Noah turns his head slowly and looks at his son.)
Noah: So, is there something you want to talk to me about?
(Patrick sits down on the bench in front of their lockers and releases a loud sigh as he runs his hands through his hair.)
Patrick: I don't know.
(Noah carefully sits down next to his son. Patrick stares down at his feet.)
Patrick: I got the ring from our safety deposit box the day Robin and I came back from vacation.
Noah (surprised): Before the pregnancy?
Patrick: It wasn't like it was planned. We just came back and her dad was in her apartment waiting for us. I met you for lunch and then I found myself in my car just driving. And I just drove and drove, until I ended up in the city and eventually with mom's ring in my hand.
Noah: Are you thinking about marriage?
Patrick: I'm thinking about the future – our future. (Rubs his face) She's having my kid, Dad.
Noah: But, you got the ring before you even knew about the baby.
Patrick: And if I give Robin the ring now, she will think it's just about our child and not her.
Noah: You don't know that.
Patrick: Yes, I do. (Looks at Noah) I know Robin. I have to do this on her time and at her pace.
(Noah turns fully toward his son and looks at her.)
Noah: You haven't said the words, but do you want to marry Robin?
(Patrick looks down at his hands.)
Patrick: I got mom's ring.
(Patrick looks up when he hears the sound of the locker room doors opening again. Robin and Elizabeth walk into the locker rooms talking.)
Robin: Remind me to thank Lucky again today. I wouldn't have been able to pull last night off without him.
Liz: Oh, please! You know Lucky will do anything for you. (Smiles) He's out to prove that a Scorpio and Spencer can have a healthy, adult friendship.
(Robin laughs as she looks back at Elizabeth.)
Robin: Yeah, imagine that!
Liz: Speaking of which… is your dad still here?
Robin: I don't know.
Liz: Do you even want to know?
(Robin turns the corner and stops shortly when she sees Patrick and Noah.)
Robin: Hey guys.
(Patrick stands up quickly and walks over to Robin and Liz.)
Patrick: Hey gorgeous.
(Robin smiles as Patrick leans down and kisses the top of her head. Noah walks toward them smiling.)
Noah: So, Patrick was just telling me all about your evening together.
Robin (surprised): Really?
(Robin blushes slightly as Patrick wraps his arms around her waist and leans into her.)
Patrick (whispers): Not everything.
(Robin diverts her eyes as Noah and Liz glance toward one another. Patrick, completely ignoring them, kisses Robin's cheek.)
Patrick: Do you have lunch plans, Dr. Scorpio?
(Robin smiles as she looks up at Patrick.)
Robin: Do I?
(Patrick simply raises an eyebrow and smirks as Robin blushes brightly. She finally breaks their gaze and looks back at Elizabeth and Noah. She completely forgot they were there.)
Robin: Hey, do you guys want to join us for lunch?
(Noah and Elizabeth look at each other then burst out laughing.)
Noah: I don't think so.
Liz (embarrassed): You and Patrick go off and do whatever it is you do.
Robin (looks down): Oh.
Patrick: So disappointed.
(Noah simply shakes his head.)
Noah: Have fun, guys.
(Noah leaves the locker room as Elizabeth follows him out. Once they're gone, Robin looks back at Patrick.)
Robin: That was embarrassing.
(Patrick wraps his arms tighter around Robin's waist.)
Patrick: Why?
Robin: Because they knew…
(Patrick smirks. He knew exactly where Robin was going with this.)
Patrick (coyly): Knew what?
Robin (flustered): What we're going to do…
Patrick (coyly): I have no idea what you're referring to. What are we going to do?
Robin: You know, you and me… having lunch.
Patrick: What's so embarrassing about Chinese food?
(Robin attempts to squirm from Patrick's arms.)
Robin: Oh, forget it!
(Patrick laughs as he pulls Robin back toward him.)
Patrick: Chinese food in bed.
(Robin rolls her eyes as Patrick leans down and kisses her neck.)
Patrick: Now, aren't you glad Noah and Liz turned us down?
Robin: Well, it would've made for a very awkward situation.
Patrick: And we both know that I don't do sharing very well.
(Robin reaches up and kisses Patrick tenderly again and again.)
Robin: Neither do I. (Smiles) So, I'll see you at lunch?
Patrick (points toward her): Don't be late.
(Robin laughs as she reaches up and kisses Patrick again.)
Robin: I won't be, but I gotta go.
(Patrick watches Robin start to leave the locker room as he leans on his locker.)
Patrick: You're excited about this, aren't you?
(Robin turns around and smiles.)
Robin: I'm having lunch with my guy. Of course, I'm excited.
Patrick: Why don't you bring some of that excitement back over here?
Robin: I have patients to see.
(Patrick crosses his arms over his chest and attempts to look back at Robin vulnerably.)
Patrick: And your guy?
Robin: I'll see him at lunch.
(Robin smiles as she blows Patrick a kiss and he pretends to catch it and throws himself back on his locker. Robin laughs as she shakes her head.)
Robin: Patience is a virtue.
Patrick (sighs): So, you always tell me.

- Hours Later
Setting: Robin & Patrick's Bedroom
(Robin and Patrick are sitting on their bed with tins of Chinese food surrounding them. It was the perfect afternoon. They came home from work, ordered some takeout and then enjoyed their food while enjoying each other. Robin leans back on the headboard and sighs as she pulls up the sheet that is covering her body.)

Robin: That was amazing food.
(Patrick looks back at Robin as he sticks his chopsticks into his container of brown rice.)
Patrick: You were just starving.
(Robin smiles as she leans in toward Patrick.)
Robin: Well, I did work up an appetite.
Patrick (smiles): Mmm…
(Patrick tenderly raises his hand to caress the side of her face then kisses Robin softly. As they pull apart, Robin leans back again on the headboard and places both of her hands on her still very flat stomach. She closes her eyes and a takes a deep contented breath. Patrick turns his head and watches her. She was so beautiful. His eyes lower and he studies Robin's hands resting on her belly. His child was growing in there. It left him in awe. Robin slowly reopens her eyes and notices Patrick's eyes on her and looks back at him.)
Robin (softly): Do you want to touch it?
(Patrick just looks back at her.)
Robin: I mean, it's not much to feel… but, you're more than welcome to.
(Robin smiles as she takes Patrick's hand and then gently places it over her stomach. He smiles as he looks down at their joined hands. Robin watches his eyes soften and smiles.)
Robin: Told you it wasn't much.
Patrick (quietly): No… it is.
Robin: It's crazy, isn't it?
Patrick: What?
Robin: All of this.
(Robin raises her other hand and runs her fingers through Patrick's hair.)
Robin: And you know what's crazier? How calm you are. How do you do it?
(Patrick laughs slightly.)
Patrick: You think I'm calm? Good. The façade is working.
(Robin just looks back at Patrick. He was being sarcastic. He was calm… at least compared to her.)
Robin: It's funny. I always thought… or at least always hoped that I would be the calm, rational one between the two of us.
Patrick: Don't worry. There's still plenty of time for me to have a meltdown… or two.
(Robin places her hand on top of Patrick's as it still rests on her stomach.)
Robin: I don't know. I like that you're steady. (Looks back at him) You stabilize me.
Patrick: I try to.
Robin (softly): Thank you.
(Robin moves closer to Patrick and rests her head on his shoulder. Her eyes travel down to their joined hands and smiles softly.)
Robin: You know, I feel like we've talked about a lot of stuff, but we haven't yet really talked about being actual parents.
(Patrick looks toward Robin.)
Patrick: What do you want to talk about?
Robin: I don't know. (Looks at their hands) We're going to be parents…together. (Looks at him) We're going to share a child together, Patrick. This suddenly seems so huge. We're going to be responsible for another human being. (Pauses) Have you ever even had a pet?
(Patrick suddenly bursts out laughing then kisses Robin's forehead.)
Patrick: Robin, we'll be fine. (Looks at her) At least, I know you'll be.
Robin: Me? How can you be so sure?
Patrick: Because if there was ever such a thing as a nurturing gene, you'd have it in spades.
(Robin looks down at their hands again.)
Robin: And what about us? (Looks at him) What do you think will happen to us, Patrick? So much is going to change so quickly.
(Patrick reaches toward Robin and gently touches the side of her neck as he looks back at her.)
Patrick: We'll figure it out.
Robin: It's just a lot to think about.
Patrick: Well, I'm not going anywhere, Dr. Scorpio.
Robin: I'm not worried about you abandoning our child, Patrick.
(Patrick pulls away and Robin turns toward him fully.)
Patrick: And I'm not abandoning you either. (touches her cheek) I'm in this for the duration.
(Patrick can't help but glance toward the dresser, where his mother's ring was simply sitting there.)
Patrick: You got me hook, line and sinker a long time ago.
(Robin smiles as she looks down and plays with her hands nervously. Patrick smirks then returns his gaze to Robin and lowers it to meet her eyes.)
Patrick: And I think I got you too, right?
(Robin looks back at Patrick and smiles.)
Robin: Oh, you got me. (laughs) Come here…
(Robin pulls Patrick toward her and kisses him softly. Just as his hands travel to her waist, the sound of a phone fills up their entire bedroom. Patrick groans slightly as Robin pulls away.)
Robin: It could be the hospital.
(Robin reaches for her phone on the nightstand and answers it.)
Robin: Hello? (listens) Liz! Hey!
(Patrick pounds his fist on the bed. Back to Liz interrupting them.)
Robin: Oh yes! I didn't forget. I'll be there. (laughs) Thanks! See you soon!
(Robin hangs up her phone, kisses Patrick quickly then leaps off the bed to get dressed.)
Patrick: Emergency with a patient?
(Robin continues getting dressed as Patrick watches her.)
Robin: I have a meeting with the research lab team.
(Patrick sits up fully, letting the sheet covering his body fall entirely.)
Patrick: All of them?
Robin: Yeah. Why?
(Patrick starts to get out of the bed and reaches for his clothes.)
Patrick: No reason. (Reaches for his shirt) Do you think I can sit in?
(Robin laughs as she walks toward Patrick then buttons his shirt for him.)
Robin: Why? You hate research.
(Patrick kisses Robin's nose softly then looks at her.)
Patrick: As a good neurosurgeon, I have to be up on all the latest drug treatments and research… so I can shoot them down every time.
(Robin rolls her eyes as Patrick gently places his hands on both of her hips.)
Patrick: And I don't have any other afternoon appointments.
(Robin sighs.)
Robin: Okay, if you have nothing better to do…
(Robin starts to move from Patrick's grip, but he pulls her back toward him and she falls on his lap smiling. He gently pushes back a strand of her hair.)
Patrick: And I'll get the chance to watch you do your finest work. (Kisses her neck) Outside of the bedroom.
(Robin throws her head back and laughs as Patrick continues kissing her. Today was becoming more and more interesting by the moment.)

Setting: The General Hospital Conference Room
(Patrick Drake opens the door to the conference room. The first sound that hits him is excited chatter. The entire GH research team was present – all ten of them. None of them notice when Patrick walks into the room which wasn't too surprising since he would NEVER go to a “research” meeting. Patrick looks around the room and wonders why the entire research team consisted of men… all men that Maxie Jones hinted have a crush on Robin. Patrick Drake glances down at the agenda of the meeting and looks up slightly when he hears two of the researchers talking.)

Lab Guy #1: So, did you see what Dr. Pretty is wearing today?
Lab Guy #2: Don't tell me it's the white blouse?
Lab Guy #1 (smiles): The one and only.
(Patrick glares at the two “lab geeks.” They could not be referring to Robin.)
Lab Guy #2: Did you see she had her hair up too?
Lab Guy #1: And her freckles were in full-force.
(Patrick clears his throat loudly causing the two men to look up. They hadn't noticed Patrick there. It was a rare day to see a surgeon in a research meeting, even one moderated by Dr. Scorpio. The only surgeon that had been to one in the past was Noah Drake… and that was just because Noah wanted to rest and he joked that Robin's soothing voice was able to lull him into a dream state. Robin would have been offended if Noah hadn't just had a liver transplant, but she let him sit in the back of the room and just hoped that he didn't snore. He didn't. He actually stayed awake and took notes. Noah was impressed… and now it was his son's turn. Patrick looks up when the door to the conference room opens revealing Robin wearing a fitted white blouse with a simple black skirt and her hair pulled up in a loose bun. She looked beautiful. And they were right – her freckles were in full force. Robin smiles as she makes her way into the room.)
Robin: Hey guys, sorry I'm late. (smiles) But! I bought snacks to make up for it.
(Robin reveals individual brown bags for each researcher and hands them out one by one. Her last one was for Patrick and she smiles sweetly as she looks back at him.)
Robin: Hope you're hungry.
(Patrick opens his bag and smiles. He pulls out a cup of iced tea from Kelly's and then three cookies. No wonder they all liked her. Patrick is about to close the bag when he notices a small handwritten note at the bottom of the bag. He reads it to himself: “Thank you for an amazing afternoon. Hope I'm able to keep you awake. I love you.” Patrick smiles as he takes the note, folds it and places it into the pocket of his medical jacket. He looks around the room. No one else got notes from Dr. Pretty. Patrick smiles arrogantly and looks toward the front of the conference room and at Robin. She was amazing. It simply left him awe to see her brilliance as she commanded the room. He watched her for the entire hour as she updated the research team on her latest findings, things they should look out for and things she was hoping to find herself. And she did it all with ease. She would insert a joke here and there; retell a funny anecdote… and they would laugh with her. And he found himself laughing too. She seemed so much lighter and that made Patrick happy. He looked around the small conference room and realized that everyone else looked happy as well. Sure, most of the men looked like they were ogling her half the time… and of course, she had no idea. After about an hour, the meeting ends and the researchers thank her. Patrick stands in the back of the room and watches her as she looks over various research notes and suggests different techniques for each researcher to take. He waits patiently for the lab guys to finally leave and hears more than one refer to Robin as “Doc Pretty.” Once they're alone, Patrick walks up to the front of the conference room and wraps his arms around her waist as she puts her papers together.)
Patrick: Can I have a moment alone with you, Dr. Scorpio?
(Robin smiles as she leans into his body.)
Robin: I think that could be arranged. (sweetly) Do you have research notes you would like me to look over?
(Robin turns around in Patrick's arms. He smiles then leans down and kisses her tenderly. When he pulls away, he gently picks her up and places her on top of the conference room table. Patrick stands in front of Robin and gently pushes back a strand of her hair.)
Patrick: Do you know what this little meeting taught me?
Robin (smiles): What?
Patrick (leans in): Our kid is going to be crazy smart.
(Robin laughs as Patrick places his hands on her legs and with ease, she places hers on his hips.)
Patrick: I'm serious. Can you imagine our brains combined?
(Robin shakes her head as Patrick raises his forefinger to emphasis his next point.)
Patrick: And! Our kid is going to amazingly gorgeous.
Robin: And what enlightened you?
Patrick: Watching you up there. (touches her face) You are so beautiful.
Robin (laughs): Whatever.
Patrick: You really don't notice how those lab guys look at you?
(Robin looks back at Patrick like he's crazy.)
Robin: What are you talking about?
Patrick: That guy, Owen, you didn't see him practically salivating?
Robin: I saw him taking notes.
Patrick: Yeah, that I'm sure if you leaned close enough to read, it'd say “Robin & Owen forever.”
(Robin throws her head back and laughs.)
Patrick: You find this funny?
(Robin looks back at him.)
Robin: You being jealous is funny.
Patrick: You think I'm jealous?
(Robin throws her arms around Patrick's neck.)
Robin: No, I know you're jealous.
(Patrick nods.)
Patrick: Okay, so I'm jealous. (smiles) You should make me feel better.
Robin: And how could I do that?
Patrick: Let me take you out tonight.
Robin (smiles): You want to take me out?
Patrick: Just me and you… somewhere amazing.
Robin: What's the occasion?
Patrick: I have a beautiful girlfriend that I want to show off.
(Robin smiles as she leans in closer to Patrick.)
Robin: Well, in that case… I'd love to.
(She kisses him tenderly then slowly jumps off of the conference room table. She kisses him again quickly then looks at him.)
Robin: Don't forget to finish the snacks I got you. (smiles) The oatmeal cookies are my fave!
(Patrick laughs as Robin speeds out to her next appointment. Once he's alone, Patrick reaches toward the desk phone and calls the Nurses' Station.)
Patrick: Do you know where Noah Drake is?

Setting: Research Library
(Patrick Drake opens up the door to the General Hospital research library. He sees his father sitting at one of the desks with several books and journals spread out in front of him. Noah looks up at the sound of his son's footsteps.)

Noah: Hey Sport!
(Patrick walks toward his father and notices several journals discussing HIV pregnancies and treatments. It was during moments like this that Patrick was grateful to have his father back in his life. He sits down across from Noah.)
Patrick: I've been looking for you.
Noah: You found me.
(Patrick nods then looks down at his, now folded, hands.)
Patrick: You're doing research?
(Noah looks at the papers in front of him.)
Noah: This is my grandchild too.
Patrick (hoarsely): Thank you. (looks around the desk) It's a lot of stuff to read, huh?
Noah: You should know. You've been here during every break you've had for the last few weeks.
(Patrick nods.)
Patrick: You've noticed?
Noah: We sign out the same articles.
Patrick: Maybe we should compare notes.
Noah: I'll be happy to. (looks at him) So, what's going on?
(Patrick sighs again then takes a deep breath.)
Patrick: Well, I promised you that I'd talk to you before I did anything and…
(Noah nods.)
Noah: You want to talk?
(Patrick nods again then looks back at his father.)
Patrick: I want to talk.

Setting: General Hospital Locker Room
(Robin opens the door of the locker room and walks toward the second row of lockers. She just finished her last appointment and was ready to end this day and start her evening with Patrick. However, just as she turns the corner leading to her row of lockers, a wave of nausea washes over Robin and she covers her mouth in an attempt to ease her stomach. She closes her eyes for a moment then slowly sits down on the bench in front of the lockers. Robin runs her hands through her hair as she leans over her knees taking deep breaths. She doesn't even notice when the doors to the locker room open again revealing Maxie. She rushes toward the second row of lockers and stops short at the sight of Robin doubled over with nausea.)

Maxie (terrified): ROBIN!
(Maxie runs toward Robin and kneels down in front of her.)
Maxie: Talk to me… are you okay?
(Robin looks back at Maxie and shakes her head as she sits up slowly.)
Robin: I'm fine, Maxie. I'm absolutely fine.
Maxie: What's wrong?
Robin: Nothing. Nothing.
(Maxie studies Robin's face carefully.)
Maxie: Are you sure?
Robin: I'm sure. (sighs) Now, come up here and talk to me.
(Maxie sits down next to Robin.)
Maxie: I'm not overreacting, Robin.
(Robin smiles as she pats Maxie's hand.)
Robin: You were raised by Uncle Mac; I wouldn't expect less from you.
Maxie: Very true. He taught us how to freak out over you very well.
Robin (sighs): Good to know. (looks at her) So, distract me – how's school?
Maxie: Sucks. (softly) Hey… I didn't know if I should say anything to you, but I saw your dad on the docks this morning.
(And just like that, Robin covers her mouth and runs toward the bathroom. Maxie leaps to her feet and runs toward the bathroom. She can hear her getting sick.)
Maxie: I'm getting you help! Don't move!
(And with that, Maxie runs out from the locker room. She runs toward the Nurses' Station then sighs relieved when she sees Noah and Patrick getting off the elevator. The Drake men watch Maxie concerned as she runs toward them and grabs their arms.)
Maxie: I've never been so happy to see you both! I need your help right now!
Noah (concerned): What is it? What's wrong?
Maxie: It's Robin. We we're in the locker room and…
(And that was all Maxie was able to get out, Patrick and Noah had already ran past her and toward the locker room. Patrick forcefully opens the door and calls out her name. When he doesn't hear anything, Patrick runs toward the back as Maxie follows them in.)
Maxie: She's in the bathroom.
(Patrick swings open the door to the bathroom and sighs a loud sigh of relief when he sees Robin standing in front of the sink brushing her teeth.)
Patrick: Robin?
(Robin rinses out her mouth and looks at three of them looking back at her extremely concerned.)
Robin: It was just nausea. I'm sorry for freaking you out.
(Patrick's entire body slumps with relief as he runs his hand through his hair. Maxie leaps toward Robin and pulls her toward her.)
Maxie: Robin, maybe you should go home and rest.
Robin: I'm fine, Maxie. I really am.
Maxie: Or maybe you can get Patrick to take over your cases.
(Maxie turns around and looks at Patrick with eyes filled with concern.)
Maxie: You'd take over her cases, right?
(Patrick looks toward Robin.)
Patrick: I'd do anything for her. She's knows that.
(Maxie looks back at Robin.)
Maxie (worried): So, will you let him?
(Robin moves toward Maxie and gently touches both of her shoulders.)
Robin: I am fine, Maxie.
Maxie: Robin, you usually don't walk around projectile vomiting!
Robin: How did I ever forget how blunt you could be?
Maxie: So, are you going to tell me what's going on?
(Robin sighs then sits down on the bench next to them. Maxie follows her.)
Robin: Okay. I'll tell you.
(Robin looks up at Patrick and Noah, then back at Maxie.)
Robin: Maxie, Patrick and I…
(Robin stops as Maxie stares back at her.)
Maxie: Patrick and you…
Robin: Patrick and I…
Maxie: Okay Robin, we got that part down brilliantly. We can like go on tour. Do you want to finish the sentence?
(Robin closes her eyes and releases a loud breath.)
Robin: We're having a baby. (looks at her) I'm pregnant, Maxie.
(And at that, Maxie's mouth falls in shock. She stares at Robin for several long seconds then looks toward Patrick then goes back to Robin.)
Maxie: How?
(Now it was Robin's turn – her mouth falls slightly.)
Maxie: I mean, I know how… but does Uncle Mac know?
Robin: How it happened?
Maxie No! About the pregnancy! The baby!
(Robin shakes her head.)
Robin: No. I haven't told anyone yet, really. Patrick and I are still feeling our way around and…
Maxie (holds up her hand): Say no more! I will not say a word. (sighs) Wow! Uncle Mac is going to flip out and your mom… and your dad! Your dad, Robin! Do you think that's why he's back?
(Robin opens her mouth to say something then stops. She shakes her head.)
Robin (softly): I don't know.
(Maxie suddenly smiles then hugs Robin tightly.)
Maxie: I can care less about him. (sincerely) I am so happy for you, Robin.
Robin: Thank you, Maxie.
(Maxie leaps up and hugs Patrick.)
Maxie: Congratulations, Dr. Hottie.
(Patrick just smiles as Maxie pulls away then looks at Noah.)
Maxie (laughs): And you too, grandpa!
(Noah laughs as Maxie turns around and looks at Robin again.)
Maxie: Dr. Pretty and Dr. Hottie are having a kid. (smiles) It's perfect.
(Maxie smiles one last time, then leaves the locker room. Once Maxie's gone, Patrick walks over to Robin.)
Patrick: Are you okay?
Robin (softly): Yeah.
(Noah walks over to Robin as well and touches her shoulder.)
Noah: The nausea?
Robin: It's fine. It passed. I've been pretty good with morning sickness… up until evening sickness, I guess.
(Robin turns fully and looks at Patrick.)
Robin: Hey… do you think we can go out tomorrow night?
(Patrick nods as Noah rubs the back of his neck.)
Patrick: Of course.
Robin: I have to tell my mom, Mac and Felicia about the baby.
Patrick: Of course.
Robin: And if my dad is back and he tells someone before I get the chance to, I…
(Patrick touches the back of Robin's head as he looks at her.)
Patrick: Robin, it's fine.
(Noah discretely leaves the locker room. He wanted to give Robin and Patrick some privacy.)
Robin (looks at Patrick): Do you want to come with me tonight?
(Patrick sighs and takes Robin's hand in his.)
Patrick: If you think you need me, I'll go with you… but I think you should do this alone.
(Robin looks down at their hands.)
Robin: Okay.
(Patrick gently rubs Robin's back as he looks toward her.)
Patrick: Are you really okay?
(Robin turns her head and looks at Patrick.)
Robin: It was just nausea. I'm fine.
Patrick: When Maxie came running out of the locker room… my heart was in my throat.
Robin: I'm sorry.
Patrick: No, I'm just glad you're okay.
Robin: Maxie moves fast, huh?
Patrick: She just cares about you.
(Robin turns toward Patrick.)
Robin: Maybe I can tell Uncle Mac tomorrow and we can still have our plans tonight.
Patrick: No, no! Go see your family tonight and then tomorrow, we'll do our thing.
(Robin leans in toward Patrick.)
Robin: I am sorry I freaked you out.
(Patrick wraps his arm around Robin and brings her toward his chest.)
Patrick: Are you nervous about telling your family?
(Robin releases a breath.)
Robin: I know Uncle Mac will be happy for me. (looks up at him) Once he sees that I'm happy, he'll be fine.
Patrick: But?
Robin: Uncle Mac is Uncle Mac. He's going to flip out first and I'll have to calm him down.
Patrick: So, should I not answer the door if he sends Lucky over to arrest me?
(Robin laughs as she plays with the buttons on Patrick's shirt.)
Robin: Don't worry. I always carry extra bail money… just in case.
Patrick (laughs): That is so reassuring.
Robin (smiles): I try.
(Robin turns her head and kisses Patrick's chest then sits up.)
Robin: Thank you for coming to my rescue before.
(Patrick leans in toward Robin and kisses her forehead tenderly.)
Patrick: Always.
(Robin turns slightly and looks at Patrick.)
Robin (softly): Hey… who's Dr. Pretty?

Setting: Scorpio-Jones House
(It's later in the evening. Robin is standing by the window looking out toward the backyard. She looks up when she sees Maxie's reflection in the window and smiles.)

Robin (softly): Hey.
Maxie: How are you feeling?
(Robin turns around and looks at Maxie.)
Robin: Better. Thank you.
Maxie: You look nice.
(Robin laughs slightly as she looks down at herself. She's wearing a simple pink summer dress.)
Robin (laughs): Thanks.
Maxie: So… Mac thinks you're here to tell him that Patrick moved in with you.
(Robin looks back up at Maxie with widened eyes.)
Robin: I thought Uncle Mac knew that already.
Maxie (laughs): Yeah… from Lucky.
(Robin covers her face and laughs.)
Robin: Oh man! I forgot to tell Uncle Mac that Patrick moved in with me!
(Maxie has to laugh herself. Both women know that Robin has something monumentally bigger to tell Mac than just Patrick was sharing her closet space.)
Robin (groans): Why do I feel like I'm seventeen all over again?
(Maxie leans over Robin's shoulder and smiles.)
Maxie: It's the house.
Robin (sighs): Maybe I should've done this at the Metro Court.
(And just as Robin says that, Mac appears carrying a tray of sandwiches with Felicia and Anna behind him.)
Anna: Did Patrick have to work tonight?
Robin: No, I just thought I'd visit you guys alone.
Felicia: Is it strange dating a doctor?
(Mac rolls his eyes as he places their food on the table.)
Mac: She is a doctor, Felicia.
Felicia: I know that, Mac! I'm just saying… it must be so interesting to be with someone who is out there saving lives and has all the same interests as you.
Mac: Compared to taking lives and being the polar opposite?
(Maxie leans in toward Robin.)
Maxie: Glad to see Mac is holding no animosity toward your prior boyfriend.
(Robin clears her throat and moves toward her family.)
Robin: Why don't we eat?
(They all take their respective seats. Once everyone is situated, Anna looks up at her daughter.)
Anna: So… Robin, is there a reason you called us together?
(Robin looks down at the napkin on her lap. Maxie was right. It was the house that made her like this. She takes a deep breath then looks back at her family.)
Robin: Yes!
(Robin can feel Maxie's hand on her leg for support and smiles appreciatively. She opens her mouth to speak and just as she starts, Dillon and Georgie come flying through the living room.)
Georgie: So sorry we're late.
Dillon: Man, the natives were hungry at Kelly's tonight.
(Dillon plops down at the table as Georgie follows him.)
Dillon: I mean, how long does it take for someone to decide if they want apple or peach pie? We're not saving the world here, you know?
(Robin politely smiles back at Dillon.)
Georgie: So, what did we miss? Anything good?
Felicia: I think Robin was about to tell us something.
Dillon: Oh… sorry to interrupt. Carry on.
(Robin nods then clears her throat. It was so the house. She can look just a few inches from Felicia and instantly go back to their “sex talk” on the couch; looking back at Mac, she is instantly taken back to their tender goodbye before she went to Yale; and her mom… she can see them putting up the Christmas tree or her teasing her about Roger Hollander. There were too many memories within these four walls. Robin takes another deep breath.)
Robin: Well, as you know Patrick and I…
Georgie: Oh, where is he? Is he here? I didn't see him.
Felicia: Where did you say he was, Robin?
Maxie (snaps): Mom! Georgie! Does it really matter where Patrick is right now? Robin is trying to speak! Can't you all let her!?!?
Felicia: Sorry, go on…
Robin: Thank you. (nervously) Anyway… Patrick and I…
(Robin sighs. She really wished she brought Patrick with her. Maybe she could text message him. Robin laughs to herself. She was being ridiculous. This was her family. Just her family.)
Robin: We found out a few weeks ago... that we're… that I'm… I'm pregnant.
(And with that, the sound of five forks crash onto their plates.)

Setting: Robin & Patrick's Apartment
(Patrick Drake had been home for the entire night alone. He couldn't even remember the last time he had spent a night home alone. Maybe when he was in junior high school. Patrick had to laugh. He was so friggin' whipped. Patrick laughs again. Robin would love to know that he came to that realization. Truth be told, he didn't want to go out. Robin was telling her family that she was carrying his child. Carrying his child. Those three words still rocked him. The mere fact that there was something growing inside of Robin that he helped create simply rocked him to the core. He leans back on his couch and runs his hands through his hair. Just as Patrick closes his eyes, there's a slight knocking on the front door. It was too early for Robin to be back. Patrick stands up and walks toward the door, rubbing the back of his neck, and sighs at the sight of his father holding a pizza.)

Noah: I'm assuming pepperoni is still your favorite.
(Patrick steps aside and lets his father walk into the apartment.)
Patrick: With root beer?
Noah: The only beer my body can handle.
(Patrick takes the pizza pie from his father's hands and places it on the kitchen counter. He opens it quickly and grabs a slice as Noah opens up the two bottles of root beer.)
Noah: So, Robin is still with her family?
(Patrick just nods.)
Noah: Was she nervous?
(Patrick looks down at his pizza.)
Patrick: A little.
(Noah grabs his own slice then looks back at his son.)
Noah: Were you?
(Patrick reaches for his root beer and laughs.)
Patrick: Oh, why would I be? Just because her entire family is armed and is trained in causing the greatest amount of physical pain with the smallest amount of exertion? (takes a gulp) Is that reason to fear my life? Oh, not at all.

Setting: The Scorpio-Jones House
(Robin stares back at her entire family looking back at her… each one talking simultaneously.)

Mac (numbly): Pregnant?
Anna: Where's Patrick again tonight?
Dillon: I was SO not expecting that. (he looks at Georgie) Were you?
(Georgie simply shrugs her shoulders then looks at her older sister.)
Georgie: You're not surprised. Why aren't you surprised?
Felicia (smiles): Well, she works with them… she'd be the first to know.
Mac (numbly): Pregnant?
Anna: Is Patrick with a patient?
Dillon: Are you going to videotape your pregnancy?
(Georgie hits Dillon causing him to jump.)
Georgie: DILLON!
Dillon: I meant, like a video journal.
(Felicia leans in and looks toward Robin smiling.)
Felicia: That could be cool, Robin! It's something your child could have forever.
Mac (numbly): Pregnant?
Anna: Is Patrick with his father?
(Georgie leans further in toward her sister.)
Georgie (to Maxie): How long have you known?
Dillon: You know, Robin, I have a camera you could borrow if you like.
Felicia: Oh! I could help you write diary entries. You do remember that I helped Lila with her memoirs, right?
Mac (numbly): Pregnant?
Anna: Is Patrick out with friends?
(Robin rubs her hands over her face as their words begin spinning around her. All she can hear is her uncle repeating the word ‘pregnant' over and over again, her mother naming every place in Port Charles she remembers trying to figure out where Patrick is tonight, Dillon telling her something about video testimonials similar to the Real World confessionals, Georgie grilling Maxie about how long she knew and Felicia rambling about Lila's rose garden. Robin finally places both of her hands on the table in front of her and clears her throat.)
Robin: Patrick is home.
(Those three words suddenly silenced the group surrounding her.)
Anna (curiously): Home? Why?
Robin: We thought… I thought it would be best if I told you all alone.
Mac: Why?
Robin: I just thought it'd be easier.
Mac: In case we turned violent?
(Dillon laughs loudly.)
Dillon: I wonder what gave Robin that impression?
(Georgie hits Dillon as Mac looks back at his niece.)
Mac: What type of group do you take us for?
Anna: I wouldn't have physically harmed him… yet.
Robin: I wasn't afraid of violence… really. (simply) I just wanted to tell you all myself.
Dillon: It makes sense.
Georgie: It does?
Dillon: Well, we are her family.
(Robin smiles. She liked Dillon.)
Robin: Thank you, Dillon.
Dillon: No problem. (smiles) So, what do you think about the video confessional idea?
(Robin starts to say something then stops. Her attention is shifted back to her mother once she starts talking again.)
Anna: So, Patrick's been good?
Robin: He's been amazing.
Mac: Amazing?
Robin: He actually found out before I did.
Dillon (laughs): How does that work? I mean, I know the man is supposedly a genius… but come on!
Georgie: Dillon! Shush! (looks at Robin) Go on.
Robin: The day Manny took me, I had met with Noah for my checkup.
Felicia: And he told Patrick?
Mac: You were okay with that?
Robin (looks at Mac): He is the father, Uncle Mac.
(Mac tiredly rubs his hand across his face.)
Anna: And he's been completely supportive?
(Robin looks back at her mother. This was about the tenth time she's asked about Patrick's behavior.)
Robin (tensely): Mom, he's been perfect.
Anna: And is this why you decided to move in together?
Robin: About that… I meant to tell you guys about that earlier. I'm sorry. We decided to move in together when we went away on vacation.
(Anna nods quietly as Mac looks away. Robin doesn't exactly know how to read her uncle or mother.)
Felicia: Well, I think it was a good idea that you and Patrick kept the pregnancy to yourselves for a while.
(Felicia reaches toward Robin and takes her hand in hers.)
Felicia: This is such a special time for you both. (simply) A time you won't be able to ever get back… so treasure it.
(Robin smiles. She looks toward her mother and Mac again. She still couldn't read them. Maxie senses Robin's discomfort and chimes in.)
Maxie: Oh, they are! Patrick has been so supportive of Robin! (looks at Mac) More than ever! (looks at Anna) He never leaves her side at the hospital! He's been great! (looks at Felicia) Everyone can see his commitment to her.
(Anna just nods again as she reaches for a napkin.)
Anna: Really?
(Robin turns toward her mother.)
Robin: Okay. Mom, is there something you want to say?
Anna: Robin, I don't want to step out of line.
Robin: When have you ever been concerned about stepping out of line?
Mac: She has a point, Anna.
(Robin sighs.)
Robin: Mom, I can handle whatever it is you have to say.
Anna: You're right. (simply) Robin, I don't want you to think I'm not happy for you.
(Robin looks down and nods.)
Mac: We're just not sure if you realize what having a child means. (reaches toward her) You will be tied to Patrick Drake for the rest of your life.
(Robin sighs as she looks back up at her uncle.)
Robin: That's not a bad thing, Uncle Mac.
Anna: Robin, Patrick Drake will own a piece of your heart forever. Are you prepared for that?
(Robin simply sighs again as she runs her hands against her bare arms.)
Robin: He already does.
(Anna leaps from the table and shakes her head.)
Anna: Not like this. Robin, you have no idea what it will be like. (looks at her) You created a life together. Do you see the enormity of that?
Robin: I think we do.
Mac: You “think”? Robin, you'll need to do more than “think” and you'll need to be certain that Patrick is dependable.
Robin (tiredly): He is, Uncle Mac.
(Felicia sighs as she leans in toward Robin.)
Felicia: Robin, I think your mother and uncle are trying to figure out how permanent you and Patrick are.
(Robin looks toward her mother and then back at Mac.)
Robin: Permanent?
(Dillon leans in toward Robin.)
Dillon: Let me help you out here, Robin. Your uncle and mom are not-so-subtlety trying to figure out when you and Patrick are going to join Georgie and me in the newlywed club.

- Hours Later
Setting: Robin & Patrick's Apartment
(It's later in the night. Robin slowly walks toward the apartment she shares with Patrick. She sighs tiredly as she approaches their door. It had been yet another interesting evening with the Scorpio family. After several intense conversations and interrogations, the night ended the way Robin always expected it to. The end of the night found Robin, Mac and Anna sitting on the front steps of the Scorpio-Jones house. As Robin stands in front of her current home, she closes her eyes and remembers her last conversation at her childhood one. Anna looked over at her daughter and pushed back her hair tenderly.)

Anna: How are you feeling?
Robin: Physically? I'm fine. I've been pretty lucky with morning sickness.
Mac: Except for the time with Maxie?
Robin (nodded): Except for that.
Anna: Good.
(Anna reached over for Robin's hand and took it into hers.)
Anna: And how are you feeling emotionally?
(Robin looked down at her mother's hand in hers and sighed.)
Robin (tearfully laughed): Sometimes a little all over the place.
(Anna took a deep breath then turned fully toward Robin and looked at her.)
Anna: Robin, you know that I love you, right? And you know that I would do anything for you?
Robin: Of course.
Anna: I just worry about you, that's all.
Robin: I know… but Patrick isn't like dad.
(Anna sighed as she looked down again.)
Anna: I just don't want you to be disappointed like that ever again.
Robin (softly): I won't be.
(Anna and Robin looked back at each other. They shared a silent acknowledgement in that moment. Anna believed in Robin. And Robin believed in Patrick… so somehow it meant that Anna believed in Patrick.)
Anna (sighed): Okay, then… so tell me, how about your protocol? What have the doctors said?
Robin: They switched up my protocol a bit. Patrick and I have been doing a lot of research.
Mac: It's nice to see that this boyfriend can actually hold an informed, educated discussion.
(Robin rolled her eyes. Mac was clearly making a dig toward Jason, but getting in an argument about him wasn't even worth it right now.)
Mac (laughed): Now, let's just hope that his perfect surgeon hands are good at changing diapers and making bottles. (lightly) Especially at 2AM.
(Robin laughed as she leaned in toward her uncle.)
Mac: You know, Robin your child will be surrounded by unconditional love. It will grow up so loved and worshipped. (looked down at her) I promise you that.
(Robin nodded as Mac leaned in toward her and kissed the side of her head. And in that moment, she felt like everything would be okay. She had her family's support and love… not that she ever doubted for a moment that she wouldn't get either. In the current moment, Robin is about to open the door to her apartment when suddenly the door flies open revealing Noah Drake. Robin takes a step back as Noah smiles back toward her surprised.)
Noah: And I didn't think I'd get to see you tonight. (smiles) It's a pleasant surprise.
Robin (smiles): Likewise.
Noah: How did everything go with your family?
(Before Robin can respond, Patrick appears next to his father wearing a pair of jeans and an old worn T-shirt.)
Patrick: Hey… I thought I heard your voice.
(Patrick reaches toward Robin and gently touches her arm.)
Patrick: Are you okay?
Robin: Yeah. Yeah. I'm just tired.
(Noah looks at Robin.)
Noah: Then, fill me in tomorrow. (Kisses the top of her head) Have a good night and take good care of my grandkid.
(Robin smiles as Noah disappears down the hallway. She looks back at Patrick as she walks into their apartment.)
Robin: I really do think he wins the award for most enthusiasm about this pregnancy.
(Patrick follows Robin inside the apartment.)
Patrick: Well, you've given him a second chance.
(Robin sits down on the couch and looks back at Patrick as he sits down next to her.)
Robin: You think?
(Patrick reaches toward Robin then pulls her toward him. She sighs as she rests her head on his chest.)
Patrick: My dad and I lost a lot of time together. (Sighs) But he was an amazing father up until I was eighteen, so I can confidently say that he will be an amazing grandfather up until our kid moves out of our house.
(Robin laughs softly. Our house. Patrick probably didn't even realize he had said that. Would they still be living together almost nineteen years from now? Robin rests her hand on Patrick's chest and sighs softly. He looks down toward her.)
Patrick: Want to tell me about your family?
Robin: It was what I expected.
(Patrick closes his eyes.)
Patrick: It was that bad?
(Robin moves away from Patrick then looks back at him.)
Robin: No, it was fine… in the end.
Patrick: So, how bad does your mother want to kick my ass?
(Robin laughs as she moves back into Patrick's arms.)
Robin: She's just worried about me, that's all.
Patrick (softly): What is she scared about?
(That you're going to abandon me. Robin sighs. She couldn't say that to him, so instead she simply plays with the hem of Patrick's T-shirt.)
Robin: How long was your dad here for?
(She wanted to change the subject. He nods.)
Patrick: He brought over some pizza. (Looks toward the kitchen) We have some left over if you want some.
(Robin just shakes her head.)
Robin: No thanks. (She pulls away) I think I'm going to get ready for bed.
Patrick: I'll clean up the kitchen.
(Robin and Patrick both stand up. She watches him for a moment then tugs on Patrick's wrist. He stops and turns toward her.)
Robin (softly): Hey…
(Patrick moves toward Robin and gently caresses the side of her face.)
Patrick: What is it?
Robin (simply): It can wait until tomorrow.
(Robin moves toward Patrick and kisses him tenderly then looks at him.)
Robin: Come to bed with me.
(Patrick leans in and kisses Robin's forehead softly.)
Patrick: You know you never have to ask me twice.

- The Next Day
Setting: General Hospital
(Robin Scorpio walks down the hallway of General Hospital with Alan Quartermaine by her side. It felt odd not telling Alan she was pregnant yet, but she and Patrick decided to wait until they were past the first trimester before telling anyone at work. However, Robin knew Alan just wasn't anyone at work. He was Alan. He was her doctor for so many years. He had been away traveling for several weeks at various medical conferences, so they hadn't had the chance to properly catch up and that made it easier for Robin not to tell him immediately. She was about to tell Alan this morning when he had asked her to attend a medical conference in New York City. Robin happily agreed to and decided that she'll tell Alan when she returns. Once they approach the Nurses' Station, Alan and Robin separate and they individually go about their way. She walks toward Liz Spencer and smiles.)

Robin: Hey Liz… do you know if Patrick is still in surgery?
(Elizabeth looks down at the surgical schedule and nods.)
Liz: He should almost be done with his first one.
Robin (sighs): Okay… if you should see him before I do, can you ask him to page me?
Liz: Not a problem.
(Robin sighs and looks around. Today had been a quiet day for Robin. It was rare that she found some down time while at work, so she decided that she should take advantage of it. It was about lunch time, so Robin decided that perhaps she would eat lunch in the sunroom at General Hospital. Robin walked toward the locker room, gathered up her lunch that she packed for herself and some reading material then made her way down toward the sun room. It was a beautiful late August afternoon. Robin finds a corner table and quickly settles down at it. She sits there for several moments simply eating her salad while flipping through “What to Expect When You're Expecting.” Patrick had bought Robin that book shortly after she found out she was pregnant. She had originally thought it was somewhat silly since they are both well-educated doctors, but even Robin had to admit… they weren't experts. It was somewhat soothing to actually see in writing the changes going on in her body as she's about to enter her eighth week of pregnancy. She sits in amazement as she reads that, everything that is present in an adult human is now present in the small embryo growing inside of her. The ears are continuing to form externally and internally; the bones are beginning to form and the muscles can contract; fingers and toes are webbed but are growing longer; the facial features continue to mature; the tip of the nose is present and the eyelids are now more developed. And the embryo is at the end of the embryonic period and begins the fetal period. Robin still couldn't believe how real this was. She had a child growing inside of her, even though the embryo may only be about an inch long and is approximately the size of a bean. Patrick was right. This book was worth reading. Robin turns toward her purse and takes out her pad of post-it notes. She would tab this page for Patrick to read tonight. Just as she's about to lower the sticky onto the page, she hears a familiar voice above her.)
Carly: You are unfreakinbelievable.
(Robin closes her eyes and groans inwardly. Of all people, why would she have to see Carly right now?)
Carly: You're planning to trap Patrick, aren't you?
(Robin reopens her eyes and slowly pushes back her hair.)
Robin (tiredly): Carly, please just drop this.
(Of course, Carly wouldn't.)
Carly: You don't think I've noticed the change in Patrick?
(Robin just looks back at her.)
Carly: I can't believe you're willing to put Patrick's life at risk, just to hold onto him.
(And with that, Robin stands up and begins to gather her things.)
Carly: So, are you going to even tell him that you want to get pregnant? Or are you just going to trap him and have an “accidental” one?
(Robin takes a deep breath and attempts to continue to ignore Carly.)
Carly: Sweet angelic Robin. (snidely) I will always see you for what you are. You manipulative…
(Robin finally turns toward Carly.)
Robin: Will you just shut up?!?!
(Carly moves closer into Robin's face.)
Carly: You are such a hypocrite! You walk around here like some martyr being the HIV+ doctor and go on tours talking about HIV prevention and then you willingly put a man at risk, just so you could feel complete?
(Robin swallows back the tears forming and the anger about to rage out of her.)
Carly: And even without your HIV, to trap a man like Patrick into becoming some domesticated animal, is just plain manipulative. (Laughs) And you use to say I was the manipulative one?
(Robin clenches her fists angrily as Carly simply continues.)
Carly: You don't think I remember how you use to walk around acting like you made ALL these sacrifices to be with Jason. You had to change your morals, your standards and beliefs. (Looks at her) Guess what, angel? That's exactly what you're doing to Patrick.
(Robin looks away. She would not cry in front of Carly. That is the one thing Robin swore never to do.)
Robin: Shut up, Carly.
Carly: To be with you, to be worthy of you, Patrick has to change who he is. He was a man, Robin. A real man who was sexual and…
(Robin snaps her head back and looks at Carly.)
Robin (angrily): You have no idea who Patrick is or what Patrick wants!
Carly: Are you going to tell me that the Patrick you're with now is the same man you met? Robin, you completely made him change just so he could be in your enlightened presence. And the funny part is – you don't even see it! Or maybe you do and just don't care. (leans in toward her) And you know why you don't care? Because all you care about is that you're not alone.
(Robin shakes her head.)
Robin: Your venom is sickening.
Carly: I'm not the one who's going to try and get pregnant just to trap a man.
Robin: You are an ignorant bitch.
Carly (simply): At least I'm not a lonely one.
(And with that, Robin grabs her belongings and storms out of the sunroom. She walks directly toward the Nurses' Station and looks at Liz.)
Robin: I have to leave for the day. I'll reschedule my appointments for when I come back from New York City.
Liz: Sure… Robin, is everything okay?
(She doesn't respond. Elizabeth just watches Robin as she quickly walks toward the elevator and within moments is gone. Once inside the privacy of the elevator, the contents from Robin's hands fall around her and she immediately covers her face with her hands and sobs violently into them. Gut wrenching, painful sobs that rock her entire body. That is the first sound that Nikolas Cassidine hears when the elevator doors open at the lobby of General Hospital. Not even thinking twice, he leaps toward her and quickly attempts to steady her.)
Nikolas (concerned): Robin, what happened?
(Robin just looks back up at Nikolas with tears streaming down her face and then without any words, hugs him tightly. He sighs somewhat confused and lost… but simply runs his hand up and down her back.)
Nikolas (soothingly): Ssh… I'm here. Ssh… I'm here. You're not alone.
(And those last three words brought on another round of sobs. Nikolas slowly pulls away from Robin and looks directly at her.)
Nikolas: What happened? Talk to me. Is it Patrick? Did he do something?
(Robin just shakes her head.)
Nikolas: Is it you? Just talk to me, Robin.
(Nikolas's eyes lower and he looks at the spilled contents that were just in Robin's arms moments ago. His eyes widen slowly as his eyes focus on her book then he looks back at her.)
Nikolas: Robin, you're pregnant.
(Robin just closes her eyes and Nikolas, without any words, walks around her and slowly picks up each and every item that she dropped. Once he's gathered everything, he looks at her again.)
Nikolas: Let me take you home.
(Robin just nods and lets Nikolas guide her out of the elevator. They walk in silence for several moments, until Robin breaks it. She simply looks back at Nikolas.)
Robin (emotionally): What you saw… it's not Patrick. He didn't make me upset. He's been perfect about all of this.
(Nikolas just nods.)
Nikolas: Good… because I was about to go all medieval Cassidine on him after dropping you off.
(And that made Robin laugh... somewhat.)
