- Several Days Later
Setting: Patrick Drake's Car
(It's a late August morning. Robin Scorpio quietly watches the scenery pass her as Patrick drives them back toward Port Charles from New York City. They had spent an amazing few days in the city together. After they got engaged, Patrick was committed to spending the remainder of their time making Robin fall as much in love with the city as he was. And she did. They went on picnics in Central Park and then went to the zoo afterward. Patrick loved watching Robin's excitement as they walked through each animal exhibit. There was always something about Robin when she was truly happy that made her almost child-like… and it gave Patrick a small glimpse as to what their own child will probably be like. And he loved it. Then, there was the shopping. Patrick Drake normally hated shopping, but it seemed he could never fully hate anything when he was in Robin's company. They spent hours in FAO Schwartz, had frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity's and then topped it off with a visit to Tiffany's. Robin swore up and down that she didn't need any jewelry, but there was no way that Patrick would let her leave New York City without at least one piece of jewelry from Tiffany's. They spent hours looking for the perfect piece and finally agreed on the Tiffany Hearts™ pendant. It was platinum with round brilliant diamonds on a delicate 16" chain. It was perfect. Patrick takes his eyes off of the road for a brief moment and watches Robin absently playing with the pendant with her left hand that now wore his engagement ring. He smiles widely as he reaches toward her with his right hand and gently touches her leg. Robin turns her head and looks back at Patrick smiling.)
Robin (softly): Hey…
Patrick: We're almost home.
(Robin smiles as she turns fully toward Patrick and nestles into her seat then softly kisses his hand.)
Robin: Thank you so much for coming to New York.
(Patrick smiles as he turns his attention back to the road.)
Patrick: You don't have to keep thanking me. (smirks) I got something incredible as a souvenir.
Robin (smiles): Really? And what is that? That oversized giraffe in our backseat?
Patrick: No, but I love that little guy. (he looks at her) He's adorable, don't you think?
Robin: I think he's long.
(Robin turns her head and looks at the giraffe staring back at her. She laughs slightly remembering Patrick picking it up immediately when they hit the Central Park Zoo gift shop. Of course, he loved it… it looked like him. She turns her head and looks back at Patrick.)
Robin: Yeah, but he's kinda cute.
Patrick: Thank you. (looks at her) But, that wasn't the souvenir I was referring to…
(Patrick reaches toward Robin and takes her left hand in his.)
Patrick: I was referring to my fiancée.
(Robin smiles as she closes her eyes.)
Robin: I can't wait until we tell my family.
(Patrick just nods.)
Patrick: They'll probably think it's long overdue.
Robin (opens her eyes): Why?
Patrick: Robin, you're almost three months pregnant with my kid… it's overdue.
(Robin looks down at her stomach and runs her hand over it.)
Robin: Do you think I'm going to start showing soon?
(Patrick's eyes move toward Robin.)
Patrick: You're showing.
(Robin looks back at Patrick and smiles.)
Robin: Patrick, it looks like I just ate a big meal.
(Patrick laughs as he runs his hand long her stomach as well.)
Patrick: You're showing to me. I can see the difference.
(Robin raises her eyes and looks at him.)
Robin (softly): Really?
Patrick: Last night… your body felt different.
(Robin smiles slightly as she nestles further into her seat.)
Robin: Well, one thing is for certain… I definitely need some new bras. I am falling out of these.
(Patrick smiles widely as he glances quickly toward her.)
Patrick (suggestively): I've noticed that too.
(Robin glances back at Patrick.)
Robin (dryly): Well, aren't you the observant one?
Patrick: When it comes to you and your body, you have no idea how observant.
(Robin rolls her eyes as she feels an intense blush spread over her entire face. Laughing, she covers her face and bites her bottom lip when she feels the cool platinum of her engagement ring press against her cheek. She slowly pulls her hands from her face and looks down at the ring again.)
Robin: I love this ring, Patrick.
Patrick: I'm glad.
Robin (looks at him): And your dad really didn't mind.
Patrick: He didn't. I promise. (taps her leg) Trust me on this.
Robin: I do. I do. I would just hate making Noah feel uncomfortable.
Patrick (sighs): Of course you would, as the president of his fan club.
Robin (laughs): If you keep teasing me about that, I'll give you membership as well… maybe I'll make you vice-president.
Patrick: I can't – conflict of interest.
(Patrick turns his head and looks at Robin.)
Patrick: I'm already a card-carrying member of another fan club.
Robin (laughs): Yeah, I know… the Patrick Drake one.
(Patrick looks at her sincerely.)
Patrick: Yes, and I carry that card proudly… but I am also the president of another one. (kisses her hand) The Robin Scorpio fan club.
(Robin laughs as she shakes her head.)
Robin: And what membership perks does this club have?
(Patrick eyes her entire body.)
Patrick: Oh, there's lots of perkiness.
(Robin covers her face again.)
Robin (groans): Patrick!
Setting: General Hospital
(Noah Drake walks toward the Nurses' Station and smiles politely toward Maxie as he hands her a folder.)
Noah: Hey Maxie. Would you mind making sure Dr. Monahan gets these files?
(Maxie looks down at the folder and nods.)
Maxie: This was one of Patrick's patients, right? Have you heard from him?
(Noah sighs as he leans on the Nurses' Station.)
Noah: My son called this morning. Him and Robin are on their way back to Port Charles.
(Maxie leans in and looks directly at Noah.)
Maxie: And they're okay?
Noah: They seemed very okay.
Maxie (whispers): And Robin's feeling okay?
Noah (smiles): I think she's feeling fine.
(Maxie sighs as she nods relieved.)
Maxie: Good. Good. (looks down) When my sister told me what Carly said to Robin, I wanted to…
(Noah stops Maxie by gently covering her hand with his.)
Noah: Me too.
(Maxie looks back at Noah and smiles.)
Maxie: But, she's okay?
Noah: I'm sure she is. (smiles) My son wouldn't have it any other way.
Maxie (softly): Thank you, Noah.
Noah: Anytime.
Setting: Robin & Patrick's Apartment
(Patrick opens the door to their apartment and Robin follows him quietly. She looks around their home and smiles widely as he lowers their bags next to the door.)
Robin: Home sweet home.
(Patrick smiles as he kisses the top of Robin's head.)
Patrick: I'll check our messages.
(Robin nods as she skims through their mail and Patrick walks toward their answering machine and presses ‘play.' Robin flips through several letters and junk mail then stops suddenly when she hears her father's voice throughout their living room from their answering machine.)
Robert's Voice: Robin, it's your father. I wanted to let you know that after our last conversation, I decided to stay in town.
(Patrick looks up when he hears the mail fall from Robin's hands and scatter across their floor.)
Robert's Voice: I'm staying with Luke at the Quartermaine's and I'm working with him at the Haunted Star… if you'd like to see me. (pauses) And I hope you will.
(Robin releases a loud breath and moves toward Patrick as the machine clicks off.)
Robin: Wow.
Patrick (looks at her): You didn't know he was staying?
Robin: Well, Maxie said she saw him on the docks... but I had no idea what that meant.
(Patrick gently leads her toward their couch. They sit down on it and she stares straight ahead. They sit in complete silence. Patrick, without any words, reaches over for Robin's hand and takes it in his. She looks down at their joined hands and sighs.)
Robin: What if he is just staying because I'm pregnant?
Patrick: Well, he's still staying.
(Robin nods and looks down toward her stomach. He was right earlier. Robin is showing slightly… very slightly. No one else would probably notice it beside them.)
Robin (emotionally): And what if he stays just long enough for me to fall in love with him all over again and this child, our child, falls just as much in love with him and he picks up and runs off? (looks at Patrick) Can I put our child through that? Because I can tell you, having my father's love is an amazing thing… it was the best feeling I ever felt. (pauses) I felt safe; I felt secured. He made me feel so protected, but the moment that love was gone… all those feelings went with it and they were replaced by such painful ones.
Patrick (softly): It's not the same this time.
(Patrick turns fully toward Robin and looks at her.)
Patrick: Your child, OUR child, will have us. And your father can't hurt our child... we won't let him.
(Robin looks down and nods. Patrick tilts his head and meets her eyes then softly wipes the tears from under them.)
Patrick (softly): You want to trust him, though, don't you?
(Robin looks back at Patrick and nods slowly.)
Robin (emotionally): He's my dad. (pauses) I pushed you to reconnect with your dad so hard because I wished I could connect with my own. I just had no idea that he was actually out there.
(Patrick leans back on the couch and brings Robin with him.)
Patrick: You know, your dad isn't all bad. I watched him during the outbreak. He loves you, Robin.
(Robin absently runs her hand along her stomach again.)
Patrick: And just as much as you missed him, I imagine that he missed you. (looks at her) I mean, how could he not? (pauses) But, you're right – he could disappoint you… but, you'll never know. Just like I would've never known how my father would've come through for not only me, but for the both of us in a big way. I would've never seen that coming.
Robin: Maybe. (plays with the buttons of his shirt) But, my father is nothing like Noah.
Patrick: I don't know… I might see some similarities there. They both have massive egos.
Robin: Yeah, but your dad's ego compared to mine is with a lower-case ‘e.'
Patrick (laughs): Maybe.
(Robin sits up slowly and looks at Patrick.)
Robin: You know what? I don't want to talk about my dad.
(Robin smiles as she continues to play with the buttons of Patrick's shirt.)
Robin: We just got engaged and I feel like we need a proper celebration.
(Patrick laughs as he reaches toward Robin and pulls her gently toward him.)
Patrick: I thought we already “celebrated” several times.
(Robin laughs as she leans in toward Patrick's neck.)
Robin: Yes, but we haven't “celebrated” in our own bed. (kisses his neck) In our own shower. (kisses his chin) In our own living room. (kisses the side of his mouth) In our kitchen.
(Robin pulls away slightly and looks back at Patrick.)
Robin: Am I forgetting any rooms?
Patrick: Uh… if you are, I'm sure they'll come to me.
(And in an instance, Patrick leaps from the couch with a laughing Robin in his arms and carries her toward their bedroom. They would deal with everything else later… right now was for them.)
- Hours Later
Setting: Robin & Patrick's Kitchen
(It's much later in the day. The entire apartment is darkened by the rainstorm that decided to travel through Port Charles. Robin is standing in front of the stove wearing one of Patrick's dress shirts. After they “celebrated” their engagement several times, Patrick and Robin fell into a deep sleep, but she was the first to wake up when her stomach was growling with hunger. Robin found herself in the kitchen making them some pasta for whenever Patrick decided to wake up. She liked to cook. Robin always found cooking relaxing. She even took several cooking classes in the past. The ironic part was Robin never actually ever thought she'd be cooking for someone else… or for a family. Her family. Robin reaches for a wooden spoon and begins to slowly stir her sauce. She looks up when suddenly she hears Patrick clearing his throat from behind her. He's leaning on the wall wearing only his pajama bottoms with his arms crossed against his chest.)
Patrick: I missed you.
(Robin looks up and smiles.)
Robin: I was hungry.
(Patrick slowly walks over to Robin. He stands behind her and with a natural ease wraps his arms around her waist and kisses her neck tenderly.)
Patrick: Mmmm… this smells amazing.
(Robin leans slightly into Patrick's arms smiling.)
Robin: I'm making pasta bolognaise.
(Patrick kisses her cheek.)
Patrick: That smells good too.
(Robin laughs as Patrick lowers his kisses to her chin then return to her neck.)
Patrick: Have I told you how much I love it when you wear my shirts?
Robin (smiles): You like the easy access.
(Patrick smiles against her neck as his very able fingers find their way to the front buttons of his shirt.)
Patrick: Just an added bonus.
(Robin reaches for the wooden spoon next to her and begins to stir the pot in front of her again. She slowly takes out the spoon then turns around in Patrick's arms and offers it to him.)
Robin: How does it taste?
(Robin gently touches the side of Patrick's face as he leans in and tastes the sweet sauce. He smiles as he pulls back from her.)
Patrick: Amazing.
Robin (smiles): Good. I added a little more basil this time.
(Patrick pulls away from Robin slowly then starts setting their small table.)
Patrick: You know, I was thinking…
Robin (laughs): You just woke up.
Patrick: It doesn't take me long to conjure up a thought or two.
Robin (smiles): Okay. Go on.
Patrick: Anyway, I was thinking… this wedding thing… it should probably happen soon, right?
(Patrick can hear the wooden spoon fall from Robin's hand and plop loudly into the pot in front of her. He smiles as she turns toward him.)
Robin: Soon?
Patrick: Not like tomorrow, but soon.
Robin: How soon?
Patrick: I don't know – a month, maybe two?
(Robin turns back around and stares down at the sauce in front of her.)
Robin: I don't want to rush our wedding, Patrick. (Softly) I want it to be perfect.
Patrick (smirks): And you don't think we could create perfection in two months? (Simply) It didn't take us long to create the perfection growing inside you.
(Robin smiles as she turns back around and looks at Patrick.)
Robin: That was an amazing line.
(Patrick laughs as he walks back over to Robin and stands in front of her. He absently plays with the buttons of his shirt that she's wearing while staring at his fingers.)
Patrick: So, what do you think?
(Robin lifts Patrick's face slowly and looks at him.)
Robin: I think we can create perfection in mere minutes. (Kisses him softly) Creating it in a few months will be a piece of cake.
Patrick: Really?
(Robin reaches next to her and finds her day planner resting on the kitchen counter.)
Robin: Let's look at the calendar.
(Patrick leaps next to Robin as she opens the small black book.)
Robin: Let's see… August is almost over.
Patrick: And you're due in February.
(Robin sighs.)
Robin: Wow. Time is moving fast, huh?
(Patrick kisses Robin's shoulder.)
Patrick: How about October?
Robin (nods): I like October.
Patrick: Of course, you would… it's your birthday month.
Robin: And Maxie's. (Thinking) October's a good month. (Excited) Oh! And then we'll be married by the holidays!
Patrick: Then, October it is.
(Robin turns around in Patrick's arms and looks back at him.)
Robin: We're really doing this, aren't we?
Patrick (kisses her quickly): I'm making an honest woman out of you, Dr. Scorpio.
(Patrick can feel Robin laugh under his mouth and pulls away smirking.)
Robin (laughs): More like making an honest man out of you.
(Patrick kisses Robin again then pulls her toward their small table. He sits down and with a simple ease, pulls her down onto his lap. Robin stares back at Patrick as he pushes back a strand of her hair.)
Robin: I have to tell my mom tomorrow.
Patrick (nods): And I'll tell my dad.
Robin (thinks): You know… we can tell them together at the same time. (Pauses) Maybe invite them both over for lunch. (Looks at him) My mom hasn't seen our place yet and…
(Patrick stops Robin by gently kissing her.)
Patrick: Sounds good.
(Patrick can feel Robin's smile underneath his lips as he pulls away.)
Patrick: You want my dad to balance out your mom, don't you?
(Robin covers her face somewhat embarrassed.)
Robin: What gave me away?
Patrick (kisses her shoulder): It's fine. (Kisses her neck) My dad has enough enthusiasm for the both of them.
(Robin smiles as she nestles further in Patrick's arms.)
Robin: Patrick, we need to eat.
Patrick: Do we?
(Patrick pushes her hair to the side and leans in to kiss her neck again. He absolutely loved the way she tasted. Robin laughs as she feels his hands move toward her stomach.)
Robin: That tickles.
(Patrick slowly pulls away and tenderly kisses her nose.)
Patrick: You're hungry?
Robin: Famished.
(Patrick nods.)
Patrick: Come on – I'll fix you a plate.
(Robin watches Patrick curiously as he carefully stands up and carries her over toward their couch then gently places her on it. She had to admit – her curiosity was piqued. Robin watches Patrick easily saunter toward their kitchen. He was amazingly beautiful. And Robin always knew that. She had known that from the first time she had ever seen him. Sometimes she couldn't even believe that she was with someone so handsome. It sounded silly; Robin knew that. Stone was absolutely gorgeous, as was Jason. Robin Scorpio was blessed with very good looking boyfriends, but there was something different about Patrick. He was definitely less modest than the other men she had been with. He had no problem walking around shirtless, like he was at this very moment. And he was definitely more arrogant. Patrick falling in love with Robin made him no less cocky. Yes, it had made him somewhat vulnerable, but he was still Patrick Drake. He was as proud as ever of his prowess in the bedroom as well as the operating room. And Robin did love his confidence. It made her feel safe. She knew that he would never let anything happen to her. And most importantly, she knew that he would never let her go. And just like that, Robin knew what was different about Patrick Drake – he was the father of her child. He was the man that promised to spend the rest of his life with her. Stone had wanted to do that, but wasn't able to. Jason said he would do that, but in the end… he really didn't want to. And then there was Patrick. He was going to be her husband. Robin releases a deep breath and slowly looks down at her left hand. This was really happening. She had waited her entire life to find someone like Patrick and to find the happiness that was finally at her grasp. Robin smiles softly – she was waiting an entire lifetime for Patrick. She looks up when he slowly walks toward her holding two bowls of pasta then watches him as he carefully places a towel on her lap then hands her a full bowl of pasta.)
Patrick: It might be a little hot.
(Robin laughs as Patrick sits down next to her.)
Robin (smiles): Are you going to blow on it for me?
(Patrick turns his head and looks at her.)
Patrick: Don't start with me, Scorpio.
(Robin laughs as she stirs her pasta.)
Robin: You just don't want me to burn my tongue.
Patrick (smirks): Well, I am particularly fond of your tongue… so yes, I am looking out for it.
(Robin throws her head back as she laughs heartily. Patrick smiles. He loved that laugh.)
Robin: I am starving. (Looks at him) I don't know… for the last two weeks, I have been ravenous.
Patrick: Well, you are eating for two.
(Robin smiles as she looks back at Patrick.)
Robin: And what's your excuse?
Patrick (smiles): I have to keep up my energy for you.
(Robin looks back at Patrick as he turns his attention back to his pasta and smiles emotionally. She bites her bottom lip softly then leans in toward Patrick and kisses him tenderly. Patrick moans softly as she pulls away slowly looking directly at him.)
Robin (softly): I can't wait to be your wife.
Patrick: Really?
(Patrick lowers his bowl of pasta onto the coffee table in front of him and gently caresses the side of her face.)
Patrick: You really can't wait?
(Robin smiles again. She moves her bowl next to Patrick's on the coffee table then inches closer to him.)
Robin: Want to see how badly I can't wait?
(Patrick smiles widely as he leans back on the couch and closes his eyes while opening his arms, waiting for her to fill them. Robin looks back at him and laughs to herself. He thought she was propositioning him! As tempted as she was, Robin simply reaches over Patrick's waiting body and picks up their phone. She glances at him one last time and shakes her head. His confidence definitely is not lacking… that was until his eyes fly open at the sound of Robin's voice. She's on the phone!)
Robin: Hey Brenda. It's me. How fast can you be in Port Charles? I need your help. (Smiles toward Patrick) I'm planning a wedding.
- The Next Day
Setting: The Docks
(It's early in the morning. Robin Scorpio is walking down the docks holding several bouquets of flowers for her apartment. Her mother should be arriving in about an hour as should Noah Drake. Robin and Patrick woke up in a complete panic once they realized that they absolutely had no groceries in their house... well, Robin panicked; Patrick just smirked. They had been out of town longer than they expected and the food that didn't go bad, Robin ended up eating the previous night while talking to Brenda on the phone. Robin loved catching up with Brenda. She filled her in on how her pregnancy was going, told her all about her engagement to Patrick, their time in New York and for the remainder of their conversation… talked about Patrick. She didn't set out to talk about Patrick for hours, but it just happened naturally. He had been waiting for Robin to get off the phone with Brenda, but when the odds of that happening started seeming slimmer and slimmer, Patrick decided to rest his eyes. Robin had to laugh as he plopped his head down on her lap and moments later fell into a deep sleep. But that was her perfect Patrick… her perfect tired Patrick. Robin found herself running her fingers through his unruly locks for hours while she told Brenda all about how he followed her to New York, how he proposed to her with his mother's ring, gave her his own personal tour of the city and then went on for excruciating detail about how this was the happiest she'd ever been. Brenda could hear the happiness in her voice and that made her truly happy. All Brenda ever wanted for her best friend was happiness… and she had finally found it. Now, all Robin had to do was tell her mother. Before doing that, however, she had to buy food to feed her… because a happy Anna was a well-fed one. Robin sighs as she looks around the docks for her fiancée. Her and Patrick agreed to meet when they finished their respective errands on the docks. He was supposed to buy the food and she was in charge of the ambiance. Robin laughs slightly thinking of Patrick. She really hoped he bought more than corndogs. She smiles when she finally hears footsteps approach her and spins around. However, Robin freezes slightly when she sees Jason Morgan staring back at her.)
Robin (taken back): Jason.
(It had been quite some time since she's seen Jason. Thinking back on it, the last time she had seen him was when she had been “rescued” from Wyndemere. Robin had remembered seeing Jason and Sonny there briefly. She meant to thank Jason for all of his help, but she found out she was pregnant right after that and quite frankly, all thoughts of Jason had left her mind… until now when he was standing directly in front of her.)
Robin (softly): Hey…
(He was staring at her. Robin simply looked back at him trying to figure out what was wrong. She could tell something was on his mind, but what it was… she had no idea. Robin moves slightly closer to him.)
Robin: Jason, what is it?
(Jason finally breaks her gaze and looks down at his feet.)
Jason: Carly told me.
(Robin releases a soft breath and nods.)
Robin: I can't say I'm surprised.
(Jason slowly looks back up at Robin. She opens her mouth to speak, but for some reason… no words were coming out. He looks away from her and shakes his head.)
Jason (emotionally): What am I supposed to say?
(Robin looks down slightly.)
Robin (softly): Congratulations, maybe?
(Jason turns his head and looks back at Robin. She can feel his eyes suddenly scan her entire body and it made her feel uncomfortable. Robin knew what he was doing – he was looking to see how her body changed. And it was in that moment, Patrick Drake turns the corner of the docks with his arms filled with groceries and stops short at the sight of Robin and Jason. Instinctively, his eyes first went to her and then to him. And they froze on him. Patrick's eyes narrow in anger. He was checking her out! Jason friggin' Morgan was checking out his fiancée! His pregnant fiancée, nonetheless! Robin looks up with widened eyes as suddenly Patrick appears next to her and without any hesitation interlocks her hand with his. Robin grimaces slightly. He was in possessive mode.)
Patrick (annoyed): Hanging out on the docks?
(Jason turns his attention to Patrick and stares back at him.)
Jason: Is it safe for Robin to be out here by herself… in her condition?
(In her condition. Robin grimaces again. Jason was letting Patrick know he knew she was pregnant.)
Patrick: You mean, the condition I got her in?
(And Patrick was letting Jason know he got her pregnant. Robin clears her throat slightly. She knew this was going to get ugly.)
Robin: Jason was just stopping to say hi. (Looks at Patrick) Why don't we head home? We have a lot to prepare for.
Jason: Home? (Shocked) You're living with him?
(Robin closes her eyes. She honestly thought telling her mother and Noah she was engaged to marry Patrick would be the challenge of her day, a good challenge, but a challenge. However, she suddenly felt the current one in front of her in a leather jacket would be the one to leave her speechless. And of course, she was wrong… it was the man next to her that would without a doubt leave her speechless, as always. Robin suddenly feels her left hand being raised and watches in pure shock as Patrick points to the diamond ring on her finger with a look of determination mixed with confidence and his normal arrogance.)
Patrick: Living with me? (Looks at him) She's marrying me.
(Robin sighs again. She's so glad Patrick Drake wasn't the jealous type.)
Setting: Robin & Patrick's Apartment
(It's later in the afternoon. The beautiful August sun is shining through their entire apartment. Robin is standing by the counter wearing a simple yellow summer dress cutting vegetables while Patrick sets the table. He looks up when Robin suddenly bursts out laughing.)
Patrick: Am I missing the punch line, here?
(Robin shakes her head and continues to look down at her vegetables.)
Robin (smiling): No… just thinking.
(Patrick lowers one of the place settings and turns fully toward Robin with his hands on his hips.)
Patrick: You're laughing at my expense, aren't you?
Robin (laughing): I didn't say that!
Patrick: You didn't have to. I can hear it in your voice.
(Robin bites her bottom lip as she shakes her head. She was laughing at him.)
Patrick: You think what happened with Jason on the docks was funny?
(Robin looks up and stares straight ahead.)
Robin (softly): Maybe a little.
(Patrick smirks. It wasn't funny. He walks over to Robin and with a gentle ease wraps his arms around her waist. Robin smiles as he leans into her neck.)
Patrick (kisses her): You thought that was funny?
Robin: Patrick, you nearly poked his eye out with my engagement ring!
(Patrick laughs gently against her shoulder.)
Patrick: Well, he needed to know.
(Robin laughs as she leans further into Patrick's arms.)
Robin (laughs): Know what?
Patrick (fumbling): That… you know… you're getting married.
Robin: To you?
Patrick: Yes, to me.
(Robin laughs again as she covers his hands with hers.)
Patrick: I can't believe you find this funny.
Robin (sighs): It's not you that I'm laughing at, really. (Smiles) Okay, maybe a little.
(Robin turns around in Patrick's arms and looks back at him.)
Robin: You… (Touches his face) once said that you never get jealous.
(Patrick smiles as he lowers his head and nods.)
Patrick: Oh that?
(Robin lowers her eyes to meet his.)
Robin: You were jealous.
(Patrick looks back at her.)
Patrick: Did you see the way he was looking at you?
(Robin softly plays with the buttons of Patrick's shirt.)
Robin: Can't say I noticed.
Patrick: Of course you didn't! You never see how guys look at you.
(Robin rolls her eyes as she leans back on the counter behind her.)
Patrick: You don't think they do? I can tell you, Robin… they do.
Robin: Okay, maybe… but you don't think women notice you? I see them.
(Patrick holds up a finger as if to emphasis his next point.)
Patrick: Yes! But the difference is… I notice it. I simply choose to ignore it. (Kisses her forehead) You, on the other hand, don't even see it. Owen in the lab...
Robin: He respects my medical opinion.
Patrick: Leonard the guy in the cafeteria…
Robin: He knows I like bananas.
Patrick: Tim the x-ray technician.
Robin: He likes to show me weird bone fractures.
Patrick: Okay… and Jason Morgan, what does he want to show you?
Robin (sighs): He's with Sam.
Patrick: And yet he was still checking you out.
Robin (rolls her eyes): I doubt that.
(Patrick gently touches Robin's hips and tugs her closer to him.)
Patrick: He was looking at you. Can you just trust me on that?
(Robin sighs.)
Robin: Fine, I'll trust you on that… on one condition!
(Robin wraps her arms around Patrick's neck and looks up at him.)
Robin: Just admit you were jealous. (Smiles) Just once.
Patrick (laughs): Never.
Robin (smiles): Come on…
Patrick (laughs): No, never.
Robin (laughs): Please…
(Robin leans in and kisses Patrick's neck.)
Robin: Come on, come on… (Softly) two words… I'm jealous… come on.
(Patrick laughs again as he pulls back and looks at Robin.)
Patrick: I don't have to admit anything. Jason Morgan got the message loud and clear. (Touches her nose) You're mine.
(Robin laughs.)
Robin: So, you're not jealous… you're just possessive.
(Patrick laughs as he tugs Robin closer to him.)
Patrick: Now, that – I'll admit. (Leans in) I am extremely possessive of you. You are all mine, Dr. Scorpio.
(Robin laughs as Patrick leans in and kisses her neck tenderly. She looks up when there's suddenly a knocking on their door. Robin looks back at Patrick somewhat panicked.)
Robin: They're early!
(Patrick pulls away from Robin and sighs.)
Patrick: My father's probably hungry.
(Robin rolls her eyes as she maneuvers herself from around Patrick and walks toward the door. She looks at Patrick one last time before opening it.)
Robin: Behave!
(Patrick smirks as he looks back at her.)
Patrick: I'll try.
(Robin straightens out her yellow dress, pushes back her hair then opens the door to her apartment. She smiles widely at the sight of her mother and Noah.)
Robin: What timing! I wasn't expecting you both at the same time.
Anna (smiles): Noah picked me up.
Noah: And we're early. I'm sorry… I hope we're not too early.
Robin: Not at all! (Smiles) Come on in.
(Robin steps aside as Noah and Anna walk into their apartment. Anna looks around their small apartment and smiles. She loved their apartment. It was perfect. Anna could tell that Robin decorated the entire place. It had all the hints of Robin's personality. She turns her head and smiles at the sight of Noah blatantly flirting with his son's pregnant girlfriend. She actually found it funny.)
Noah: You look beautiful, Robin.
(Robin blushes as she laughs.)
Robin: Thank you.
(Robin looks up when she hears a loud clearing of a throat behind her.)
Patrick: Hello Dad. Remember me?
(Robin smiles when Patrick eases in behind her and places both of his hands on her shoulders.)
Noah: I wondered how long it would take you before leaped over here.
Patrick: Keep flirting with Robin and I show you just how fast I can…
(Robin turns around and gently touches Patrick's lips stopping him from talking.)
Robin: Why don't I give you both the grand tour?
Noah (smirks): I helped move all of my son's junk into this place. I don't think I need the tour.
Anna: Well, I haven't been here yet… so I'd love to see the tour.
Robin (smiles): Good.
(Robin takes Anna's arm and interlocks her arm with hers. She starts walking toward the back of the apartment with her mother. Before they disappear, she turns around and looks at Patrick.)
Robin (mouths): Behave, please!
(Patrick rolls his eyes slightly as Noah bursts out laughing once Robin and her mother disappear.)
Patrick: Why do you find this funny?
Noah: You just got jealous.
Patrick (snaps): I don't do jealous!
Noah (laughs): Seems like I hit a nerve.
(Patrick walks over to his father and looks at him directly.)
Patrick: If you must know, just a few hours ago, I had to watch my fiancée's ex-boyfriend mentally undress her on the docks.
(Noah smiles as he reaches for a breadstick on their table.)
Noah: And you got jealous?
(Patrick spins around and looks at his father.)
Patrick: She is pregnant with my child. He knows that she is pregnant with my child and still looked at her.
(Noah laughs as he shakes his head.)
Noah: I hate to tell you this, son… but your fiancée is gorgeous.
(Patrick just stares back at his father.)
Noah: And she's not only gorgeous, she's also pretty nice and amazingly smart.
(Patrick takes another deep breath.)
Noah: And unfortunately, just because she's soon to be a wife and a mother… that won't change how other men will look at her.
(Patrick shakes his head then finishes setting the table… with a little too much force.)
Noah: It's not necessarily a bad thing.
(Patrick glares up at him.)
Noah: Look, just hear me out – your mother was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Men would literally drool when they saw her, but you know what? It didn't matter. They could drool all they wanted, flirt all they wanted… but she came home to me each and every night.
(Noah smiles as he reaches for another breadstick.)
Noah: And she never even noticed it. (Laughs) That was the best part. Mattie never noticed it.
(Patrick sighs softly as he lowers the napkin he's holding.)
Patrick: Neither does Robin. But, I do.
Noah: As did I. (Looks at Patrick) You'll notice it for her.
Patrick (looks up): And I don't get jealous.
Noah: Oh no, of course not.
Patrick: I just don't like it.
Noah (smiles): Of course.
(Noah laughs as he picks up a bottle of chilled cider then looks at Patrick.)
Noah: You called her your fiancée.
(Patrick looks back at his father with somewhat widened eyes.)
Noah: You probably didn't even realize it. (Smiles) So, she liked the ring, I'm assuming?
(Patrick nods slowly.)
Patrick: She loved it.
Noah: I'm happy for you, Sport.
Patrick: And do you think Anna will be?
Noah: Yeah! Of course! I think she'll be thrilled.
(Patrick sighs as he sits down at the table. He looks down at his hands for a moment and shakes his head.)
Patrick: Seeing Jason with Robin didn't make me jealous, because to be jealous, I would have to envy him. And I don't. (Looks at Noah) He has nothing I want. Nothing. I have everything I will ever want in the other room – Robin and soon our child. (Sighs) It's just… seeing him, looking at her… it reminded me that he had lost her. (Pauses) She loved him once too. I saw how much she loved him firsthand… the way she came charging into my O.R. all those months ago. Robin was passionate about Jason. She would've done anything to save his life.
(Noah sits down across from his son and leans in toward him.)
Noah: Patrick, wanting to save someone's life is completely different from wanting to be with them or love them. (Looks at him) Robin loves you, Patrick, and only you.
Patrick: I don't doubt that.
(Patrick runs his hand through his messy hair.)
Patrick (frustrated): I'm saying this all wrong. (Breathes) What I'm trying to say is that I don't want to ever be Jason. I don't want one day from now to be standing on the docks and have Robin approach me carrying another man's child, wearing his ring… and have nothing. (Looks at him) I don't want to disappoint her, the way Jason did. I don't want to fail her the way he did.
(Patrick looks down and smirks.)
Patrick: Because if I did, I know she would end up with a bigger jerk than me who would throw it in his face like I did.
(Noah laughs as he leans back on his chair.)
Noah: Oh, this should be good – what did you do, Patrick?
Patrick: He saw Robin alone on the docks and when I approached them, he asked me if I thought it was “safe” for Robin to be alone “in her condition.” (Annoyed) Who the hell is he to ever question if I can protect her and our child? (Smirks) Well, I made it very clear that I got her in that condition and not to worry about her safety.
(Noah grimaces slightly as he shakes his head.)
Patrick: And then when that didn't get my point across – I held Robin's hand up to him.
(Noah laughs as he looks back at his son.)
Noah: But, you weren't jealous?
(Patrick glares back at his father.)
Noah (laughing): You are such a piece of work.
(Patrick throws a napkin at his father and Noah, quick on his reflexes, ducks while still laughing. Meanwhile in the other room, Anna is sitting on her daughter's bed holding her left hand staring down at the engagement ring now adorning it.)
Anna: How did you think I would not notice this thing immediately?
(Robin laughs tearfully.)
Robin: I don't know.
Anna: A mother is trained to notice all jewelry on her daughter's fingers, especially when she is almost four months pregnant.
(Robin laughs again as she looks back at her mother.)
Robin: I think Patrick was a little nervous about telling you.
Anna (laughs): Why? I'm not that threatening, am I?
(Robin just looks back at her mother.)
Anna: What? It isn't like he got my daughter pregnant during some random one-night stand or casual affair. If that was the case, I'd kick his…
Robin (interrupts her): Mom, stop! (Laughing) Please! (Reaches toward her) Patrick and I are very committed, even before I got pregnant. There is no one else for me – just him and only him.
Anna (smiles): Good. (Looks at the ring again) And I can see the feeling is mutual. (Laughs) So, have you two decided a date?
Robin: October.
Anna: Two months? Okay, we could pull this off.
(Anna smiles suddenly and raises her hands to caress her daughter's face in them.)
Anna (emotionally): I am so happy for you, Luv.
(Robin looks down tearfully.)
Anna: We are going to create the perfect wedding for you. (Smiles) You know, I had quite a few and…
(Robin looks up and starts laughing through her tears.)
Anna: And I think I learned a thing or two from each of them.
(Anna smiles as she softly wipes the tears from under her daughter's eyes.)
Anna: But somehow I think you're going to be the one to teach me a thing or two about marriage… (Emotionally laughs) and probably being a mom, too.
(Robin laughs a bit herself as Anna pulls her toward her.)
Anna: It'll be perfect, I promise.
(Robin wraps her arms around her mother's waist and holds her tightly.)
Robin: I am so glad you're here, mom.
(Robin looks up suddenly when she hears the sound of a doorbell from outside her bedroom. She looks back at her mother then slowly stands up from the bed. Robin walks out of her bedroom with her mother behind her. Her eyes widen slightly when she sees Patrick standing at their door with her father on the other side of it. Robert immediately turns his head and scans the room.)
Robert: Isn't this very Norman Rockwell?
