Chapters 1-2
Setting: Robin & Patrick’s Bedroom
(It’s early in the morning. Robin and Patrick are staring at the ceiling, both gasping somewhat for air. She pushes back her hair and takes a deep, cleansing breath.)
Patrick: Is it possible married sex is even better than single sex?
(Robin just turns her head and looks at Patrick. She smiles as she gingerly wipes his forehead.)
Robin: It might just very well be.
(Patrick laughs as he turns over and looks directly at his wife.)
Patrick: So, how disappointed are you?
Robin (concerned): Disappointed?
(Patrick runs his hand up the side of Robin’s body as he stares at her.)
Patrick: No honeymoon, no bridal shower, no…
Robin (smiles): But an amazing wedding, an unbelievable husband…
(Robin leans in toward Patrick and kisses his chin softly.)
Robin: And mind-blowing…
(Before Robin can finish her sentence, Patrick kisses her passionately and pushes her slightly back on the bed as she laughs. He pulls away slowly and looks at her.)
Patrick: Did you really agree to become Mrs. Patrick Drake last night?
(Robin’s whole face lights up as she smiles and covers her face with her hands. Patrick cannot help but stare at the platinum wedding band on her left hand.)
Robin: I can’t believe that I’m married. (She looks at him) This wasn’t a dream, right?
Patrick: Not in the least.
Robin: I mean, it was so perfect, Patrick. My mom was there with my dad and Brenda… and your dad. (Smiles) Oh, and Michael McBain! Patrick, it was like my dream wedding.
(Patrick leans down and kisses her tenderly.)
Patrick: That was the goal, my dear.
Robin (sighs): And you achieved it. (Touches his face) Patrick, I could care less about the bridal shower, the bachelorette party or the honeymoon… all that matters to me is what happened between us last night. (Simply) Saying those vows and promising to love you forever… that’s what I waited a lifetime for.
(Patrick just shakes his head then leans down and kisses her. He loved her so very much. Patrick pulls away and looks at her.)
Patrick: Just so you don’t think I’m a total loser… I put in a request for us to have some days off for a proper honeymoon.
Robin: Why? I can stay in bed all day with you.
Patrick (kisses her shoulder): I’m sure you could… but you deserve a honeymoon.
(Robin smiles, then suddenly sits up bringing her sheet with her. She looks at her husband.)
Robin: Okay, where are we going?
(Patrick lies back down and puts his hands behind his head.)
Patrick: Can’t tell you.
Robin (shocked): What do you mean? Can’t tell me?
Patrick: It’s a surprise.
Robin: Patrick, the entire wedding was a surprise. Don’t you think I’ve had enough surprises for one day?
(Patrick just shakes his head as he stares at the ceiling.)
Robin: Patrick, come on!
Patrick: I’m not saying a word.
Robin (sighs): Patrick!
Patrick (mocking her): Robin!
(Robin’s mouth falls slightly.)
Robin (sternly): Mr. Drake!
(Patrick smirks slightly.)
Patrick (smirking): Mrs. Drake!
(A huge smile appears on Robin’s mouth as she looks down at a smirking Patrick. He was so perfect. And he was so hers. She leans down toward him and gently kisses his cheek.)
Robin: Can you say that again?
Patrick: I’ve already been screaming it all night.
(Robin leans into Patrick’s shoulder embarrassed.)
Robin (groans): Patrick!
Patrick (mocking her): Mrs. Drake, Mrs. Drake, Mrs. Drake!
(Robin hits him playfully then looks at him.)
Robin: You are incorrigible.
(Patrick reaches up and tenderly touches Robin’s face.)
Patrick: And insatiable.
(She couldn’t help but smile as Patrick brings her face down toward his and kisses him tenderly again and again until the kisses turn more passionate. She loved married life. Absolutely loved it!)
Setting: The Metro Court Hotel
(It’s a beautiful morning. The surviving guests from Robin and Patrick’s wedding are sitting at various tables throughout the Metro Court; the men with their disheveled tuxedos and the women in their gowns and bare feet. Robert Scorpio turns his head, with his tuxedo tie wrapped around his neck, and looks at his best friend Luke Spenser.)
Robert: I owe you for this.
Luke: And don’t think I will not ask for a hefty payback.
(Anna leans over her husband’s shoulder and looks at Luke.)
Anna: Convincing the Quartermaines to use their garden for the wedding was so remarkable.
(An obviously tired Brenda raises her bottle of water.)
Brenda: Speaking of remarkable… who was more remarkable than the bride?
Mac: No one!
(The guests clap loudly.)
Michael: Hey! Don’t forget my boy Patty!
(Noah nods as he throws his tuxedo tie on the table.)
Noah: My son looked handsome.
(Felicia leans in smiling.)
Felicia: And happy! Didn’t he look happy?
(Jax nods slowly… and tiredly.)
Jax: Extremely.
(Liz sighs as she leans into her husband’s arms next to her.)
Liz: I loved Robin’s dress.
Lucky (yawns): She looked beautiful.
Nikolas (nodding): Absolutely gorgeous.
(Jesse looks around the disheveled restaurant then looks toward Jax.)
Jesse: You know, Jax if you need help cleaning any of this up…
(Jax waves his hand.)
Jax: No, no… it’ll be fine.
Dillon: We don’t mind helping out.
(Georgie looks at her boyfriend and smiles.)
Georgie: Like you’ve ever cleaned up after yourself.
Dillon (offended): I clean!
Luke: Young Spielberg wouldn’t know a mop if he saw one.
(Dillon gasps as he covers his chest.)
Dillon: I am offended!
Voice (angrily): No, I am! What the hell is going on? And who wrecked my bar?!?!
(The guests look up wide eyed and suddenly see Carly Corinthos standing in the entrance of the Metro Court dining room. Brenda couldn’t help it… she bursts out laughing as she throws her head back. Jax rubs his face somewhat tiredly. How was he going to explain to his “business partner” that this is the after party for Robin and Patrick’s wedding? Lucky for him, he wouldn’t have to. Carly stomps over to Brenda and looks down at her.)
Carly (coldly): I thought you were in Europe.
(Brenda snaps her head back and looks directly at Carly.)
Brenda (smiling): Really?
Carly: So, what happened? Did your pathetic best friend call you and ask you to visit? Beg you to see the pathetic excuse for a life that she’s building here?
(Brenda simply lowers the cap of her water bottle and looks directly at Jax.)
Brenda: This is your business partner?
(Jax just looks down. Brenda shakes her head then looks back at Carly.)
Brenda: You aren’t even worth my breath.
(Brenda stands up slowly.)
Brenda: But, then again… you never were.
(Carly crosses her arms in front of her body and stares back at Brenda. She didn’t even have the words right now for her. She looks around her club and sees chairs turned over, food spilled on the floor, tuxedo jackets sprawled all around. Finally she looks back at Jax.)
Carly: Can you at least tell me what the hell happened here?
(Before anyone can respond, Maxie Jones walks into the entrance of the Metro Court dining room with a huge grin holding a bunch of newspapers in her hands.)
Maxie: Hot off the presses!
(Maxie suddenly sees Carly and smiles even wider. She leaps happily toward the shrew.)
Maxie (happily): Carly!
(Carly rolls her eyes and turns toward the young woman.)
Carly: Unless you’re going to tell me what happened to my club, I have no time for you or your adolescent musings.
Maxie (smiles): Wow! Musings… big word for you. (Simply) Well, then I think you shouldn’t have a hard time reading this.
(Maxie shoves the newspaper hard into Carly’s chest, causing her to stumble back slowly. Carly shakes her head and holds the paper in front of her.)
Carly: What the…
(Suddenly Carly’s eyes widen as they land on the society page of the Port Charles Gazette. Brenda leaps up excitedly with Michael McBain right behind her. She runs toward Carly.)
Brenda: Please tell me that they got the shot of them cutting the wedding cake!
Michael: Oh, I but I loved the garter belt one!
(Carly looks toward Jax, speechless, then realizes that every single person was in some sort of formal wear. Finally Noah Drake stands up and walks toward her. He leans down toward Carly.)
Noah: Maybe you should leave before you embarrass yourself more.
(Carly throws the newspaper onto the ground and looks back at Noah.)
Carly: Look, you drunk, this is my bar! I don’t care if Robin married the mayor of Port Charles.
(Luke raises his hand.)
Luke: I would’ve been up for that.
(Robert shoots him a glare.)
Carly: This is MY bar and her wedding reception or whatever the hell this is will not be held here.
Brenda: It’s a little too late for that, Carly… don’t you think? We drank, we laughed, we partied… and the best thing – it was all on your dime. (Simply) Jax didn’t charge us a penny for this party and he won’t.
(Brenda shoots Jax a glare and he just nods. He owed her that much. Brenda looks back at Carly.)
Brenda: So, when you go do your books, that is if you actually can add, I don’t know if you even got that far in grade school, but I’m sure you’ll get your joke of a best friend Jason to do them for you, of course… please make sure to tell him – that the inordinate amount of money that was spent tonight… was spent on ROBIN’S wedding.
(Carly takes a deep breath.)
Brenda: Do you hear me? ROBIN and PATRICK’S wedding!
(Carly stares at Brenda.)
Carly: Get her out of here, Jax, before I strangle her.
(Brenda simply sighs.)
Brenda: I’m actually exhausted. (Yawns) I think I’m going to head for bed now. (Smiles) Oh yeah… Jax gave us all complimentary rooms here too. (Simply) Make sure to tell Jason to add that line in as well.
(Brenda smiles again then walks out of the dining room. Carly turns around fully and looks at the people remaining in her bar. They were all laughing. Laughing at her. She shakes her head furiously then points toward Jax.)
Carly: Clean this up, Jax. And you better HOPE that I can forget about this.
(And with that, Carly stomps out of her bar. The moment she’s gone, the entire bar fills with loud laughter. Anna simply raises her glass.)
Anna: Who’s up for another toast?
Setting: The Harborview Penthouses
(It’s still early in the morning. Robin is walking down the stairs of their Penthouse wearing only Patrick’s shirt from his tuxedo that he wore the night before at their wedding. She laughs as she hears Patrick complaining from their bedroom.)
Patrick (whining): Robin, come back!
Robin (laughing): I will, but we need some sustenance.
Patrick (groaning): NO!
(Robin reaches the lower level of their Penthouse shaking her head. She quickly starts to walk toward their kitchen, but stops when she hears Patrick again from upstairs.)
Patrick: Hey Robin!
Robin (laughing): I’ll be right back, Patrick!
Patrick: No, wait! Check to see if the newspaper is outside our door.
Robin (laughing): What? You want to check the movie schedule?
Patrick (smiling): Can you just check? Please?
Robin: Fine.
(Robin walks toward the front door.)
Robin (lightly): Just don’t think because I’m your wife now that I’ll do whatever you tell me to.
(Robin swings the door open and jumps back slightly when she sees Jason staring back at her opening his own door to pick up his own copy of the Port Charles Gazette. This was awkward. She watches as his eyes take her in, all of her. Robin suddenly remembers that she’s only wearing Patrick’s shirt… and since he buttoned it while kissing her, she was certain that he missed a few. Robin smiles politely then picks up the newspaper by her feet. She stands up slowly then looks back at Jason. She opens her mouth to say something and just as she does, Sam appears behind Jason.)
Sam: What happened? Did the paperboy forget the sports section?
(Sam stops when she sees Robin and stares back at her as well. Maybe she shouldn’t be in a hallway just wearing Patrick’s shirt. Speaking of which, suddenly Robin can hear Patrick bellowing for her.)
Patrick (whining): Robin, I’m lonely!
(Robin shakes her head. She wishes loneliness was the only feeling she felt right now. How about awkward? Embarrassed? She just smiles politely toward Jason and Sam.)
Robin: Good morning.
(And with that, Robin turns around holding her newspaper and slams the door behind her. She bursts out laughing once she’s by herself. That was truly something that would only happen to her. Hearing her laughter, Patrick walks down the stairs in his tuxedo pants.)
Patrick: Okay… now we aren’t even pass the honeymoon phase and you’re already abandoning me to have fun by yourself?
(Robin, still laughing, looks up at Patrick and shoves the Port Charles Gazette into his chest.)
Robin (smiling): Enjoy your Garfield fix.
(Patrick smirks.)
Patrick: You know, I have a thing for the Fat Cat… but today I am all about the front page story.
(Robin looks back at Patrick curiously. He smiles widely as he opens the paper and turns it around toward her. He watches with great pride as Robin’s mouth falls and her hands cover her mouth.)
Robin (softly): Patrick…
Patrick (reading): Doctors in love. Two of Port Charles’ brightest exchange vows in surprise ceremony.
(Robin moves next to Patrick and looks at the newspaper. She stares at the picture of her and Patrick exchanging their vows, then one of them cutting their cake.)
Robin: How… when…
Patrick: Nikolas Cassidine, I believe. He had some old P.R. connections and supposedly used them.
Robin (shocked): Wow!
Patrick (smiles): Are you okay with it?
(Robin looks up at Patrick and nods while smiling.)
Robin: Very okay.
Patrick: Good, because I was thinking… won’t this be a hell of a thing to show the kids one day?
(Robin stares at the newspaper again in shock. Meanwhile across the hall, Sam is standing by the bar pouring herself a glass of water. She looks up curiously when Jason doesn’t move from the door. He’s simply staring at the newspaper in his hands. Sam turns fully toward her fiancée and looks back at him.)
Sam: What is it? (Moves toward him) Is it Sonny? Did they write something about him again?
(Jason just looks back at Sam.)
Jason: I’m going for a ride.
Sam (confused): A ride? Jason?
(And before she can stop him, Jason is gone. Sam just stares at the door dumbfounded. And of course, he took the newspaper with him. Sam looks around her living room. She couldn’t even call a friend to ask what was in the paper… since she didn’t have any friends. But, she did have Jason’s best friend. Sam walks over to the desk and dials in Sonny’s home number. He picks up immediately.)
Sonny: Yeah.
Sam: Hey Sonny. It’s Sam.
Sonny: Is something wrong?
Sam: No, but can I ask you to do something stupid for me?
Sonny: What is it?
Sam: By any chance, have you read the Port Charles Gazette?
(Before Sonny can respond, Max, his bodyguard walks into his living room with Brenda Barrett next to him holding a newspaper.)
Sonny (looking at Brenda): No, but I have a feeling that I’m about to.
Sam: Well, something was in it that sent Jason riding his motorcycle.
Sonny: Thanks.
(And with that, Sonny hung up on Sam. She does a double take when she hears the dial tone. Back at the Corinthos house, Brenda smiles toward Sonny once they’re alone.)
Brenda: Sonny.
Sonny: Brenda.
(The air between them always seemed thicker, more intense.)
Sonny: I heard you were back in Port Charles.
Brenda: Did your girlfriend tell you?
(Sonny just looks down. Emily hadn’t told him.)
Brenda: Or did the men you had on me tell you? (Pauses) You move fast.
Sonny: It’s just precaution.
(Brenda nods.)
Brenda: I remember how that goes. So, does Emily like this lifestyle?
(Sonny doesn’t respond.)
Brenda: It’s funny… Emily was like, what ten, when you and I started seeing each other?
(Sonny’s eyes lower to the newspaper in Brenda’s hands.)
Sonny: So, are you personally delivering my newspaper?
Brenda: No, but I am personally delivering a warning to you.
(Sonny simply stares back at Brenda.)
Brenda: Stay out of Robin’s life.
Sonny: Where is this coming from?
(Brenda hands Sonny the newspaper. He looks down at it and his eyes widen.)
Brenda: She’s happy, Sonny. She’s found a love without conditions or limitations. (He looks back at her) She deserves this, Sonny.
Sonny: You let her marry this man? (Angrily) They’ve only dated for a few months.
Brenda (snaps): Oh, don’t lecture me on dating. You’re with a girl I use to baby sit with Robin.
Sonny: Emily’s a grown woman.
Brenda: And so is Robin. I just want you and your best friend to stay the hell away from her!
(Sonny just shakes his head.)
Brenda: Look, Patrick isn’t Jason. He won’t just stand by and let you hurt Robin. I’m just trying to warn you.
Sonny (appalled): Warn me against that punk?!?!? He isn’t even fit to be in Robin’s bed… much less be her husband.
Brenda: And what makes you the judge of that, Sonny? Your deep talks with Robin? Your late night confessions? (Points toward him) You’re the one that’s not fit to be in Robin’s life. Doesn’t it bother you in the least that the girl you once loved like a sister got married and you weren’t there? That she was engaged and you didn’t even know? Sonny, the space between you and Robin – you put it there. Don’t hate Patrick because he gives her something that you or Jason couldn’t. (Simply) You never did jealous well.
Setting: Robin & Patrick’s Penthouse
(Robin is sitting with Patrick at their dining room table eating bagels. He lazily extends his hand toward the front buttons of his shirt that she’s wearing.)
Patrick: Everything looks better on you.
(Robin smiles as she swats Patrick’s hand away. She glances down again at the newspaper on her table.)
Robin: This is so unbelievable.
(Patrick smiles as he leans in and kisses Robin tenderly again and again. He moans slightly as she slowly moves toward him and finds a place on his lap. Just as Patrick’s hands move toward the buttons of Robin’s shirt, the door to their Penthouse bursts open. Robin and Patrick fly apart as Brenda walks in with one hand covering her eyes and the other feeling out for what’s in front of her.)
Brenda: Are you both decent?
(Patrick looks at Robin in shock.)
Patrick (whispers): Is she for real?
(Robin jumps off of Patrick’s lap.)
Robin: Welcome to the world known as Brenda Barrett.
(Robin walks over to her best friend and uncovers her eyes. Brenda squeals happily as she hugs Robin.)
Brenda: You’re married! YAY!
(Patrick stands up and shakes his head as he starts cleaning their table. Brenda, being oblivious, pulls Robin hand and brings her to the couch.)
Brenda: So, I was thinking… you know what we have to do today?
(Robin glances toward Patrick then back at Brenda.)
Robin: No idea. What?
Brenda: Ready? Honeymoon. Clothes. Shopping.
(Robin sighs as she closes her eyes while nodding. Brenda loved to shop. She lived to shop. She would find any excuse to shop. She can almost see Brenda opening her mouth to squeal with excitement before she opens her eyes… and sure enough, Brenda’s squeal filled the living room as she bounced excitedly on the couch. Robin opens one eye slowly and sees Brenda grinning widely in front of her.)
Brenda: I’m talking bathing suits, dresses, and (whispers) negligees. The whole nine, Robin!
(Robin glances toward Patrick. He simply waves toward her. From the short time he knew her, Patrick already knew better than to try and quiet a squealing Brenda.)
Patrick: You go ahead. I should spend some time with Michael before he heads back to Llanview.
Brenda: Eeeee!
(Robin laughs while shaking her head slightly.)
Robin: Let me just shower and get dressed. (Looks at Brenda) Can I trust to leave you down here alone with my husband?
(Brenda looks back at Robin confused.)
Robin (smiles): The last time I did, you two planned a wedding behind my back. And don’t think I’m not replaying every moment in my mind to see when that happened.
(Brenda smiles as she lays back on their couch.)
Brenda: A woman never reveals her secrets.
(Robin smirks then turns toward Patrick.)
Robin: Maybe not… but I have my ways to get what I want out of Patrick.
(Brenda sighs as she looks down at her nails.)
Brenda: You must do, since you are Mrs. Robin Scorpio-Drake. And according to Michael McBain, Patty over here was never the commitment type.
(Patrick looks at Robin.)
Patrick: Do you really need honeymoon clothes?
Robin (smiles): So, what else did Michael McBain say?
(Brenda looks up smirking.)
Brenda: Spring Break ’98.
(Robin raises an eyebrow as Patrick leaps toward her and quickly picks Robin up from the couch.)
Patrick: She has a shower to take.
(Robin bursts out laughing as Patrick carries her up the stairs.)
Brenda: Five words. Whipped cream, women’s clothing and tequila.
(Brenda laughs hysterically as she hears Robin and Patrick upstairs fumbling toward the bathroom themselves. She did the right thing by helping them get married. Brenda felt good. She leans back on the couch and places her feet on the coffee table in front of her. She felt very good. After a few moments, Brenda suddenly hears Patrick’s voice bellow from the bathroom.)
Patrick: Brenda, Robin will meet you at Wyndham’s.
(Brenda shakes her head as she hears a laughing Robin and a shower starting. Okay… she got that hint loud and clear. Brenda swings her legs off the coffee table and walks toward the Penthouse door smirking. Robin was happy… and that was all that mattered.)
