Chapters 3-5

- Hours Later
Setting: The Bridge
(Some wounds never heal. They say that time heals everything… but some things can never be completely fixed. Robin Scorpio slowly walks toward the one single physical place that held the most meaning to her for a big part of her life. Her bridge. The bridge her first love bungee jumped off of; the same bridge she scattered his ashes; the bridge she mourned him; the bridge she found love again then lost it. It didn't seem right that one place could hold so much meaning to her, but at the same time it seemed fitting. Robin hadn't been back to the bridge since she returned to Port Charles. It wasn't that she didn't want to be reminded of the events that took place there, but at the same time… she didn't feel the need to be reminded. Robin didn't need to stand on a bridge to remember Stone or even think about Jason, from time to time, but today she felt the need to be reminded. Today she woke up as Mrs. Robin Scorpio-Drake. She was no longer simply Robin Scorpio. And Robin Scorpio deserved the right to say good bye to her former life. So, after leaving her husband at their home, Robin called her best friend and told her that she'd meet her at Wyndham's a little bit later than expected. Of course, Brenda giggled into the phone, probably with her mind in the gutter, but Robin quickly corrected her and told her that she just had to take care of something. And somehow she found herself here. Robin sighs as she runs her hands along the cold dark granite. She actually found the coldness of the bridge odd considering that it was mid-summer. Robin looks down at the cold granite. It still wasn't as cold as it was the night she had scattered Stone's ashes with Brenda and Sonny. Stone. Robin sighs as she looks up at the bright blue sky above her.)

Robin: Hey Stone.
(Robin pauses. It was almost like she was waiting for a response from him.)
Robin: I got married last night. (she laughs tearfully) I don't know why I'm telling you that. I mean, you were there. I felt you. (looks down) Just like I feel you now. (pauses) I can still feel you, Stone… just as strong as I did ten years ago. And I know that you are happy for me. I feel it when the wind blows on my face or the sunshine hits me a certain way. (smiles) I know that is all you. And in some strange way, I feel like you gave me Patrick. Only you would find the humor in finding the one man that constantly challenges me and not allow me to get a word in edge-wise. (looks up) Thank you for him. Stone, Patrick is perfect. He is… he is everything I could've ever dreamed of or wanted. He's a godsend and I cherish him. (sighs) I felt like I had to come here to tell you about him. It only seemed right. (looks down) You're the boy I love. And you'll always be the boy I love. (tearfully) But, I just had to introduce you to the man I love.
(Robin looks down at her wedding band and engagement ring.)
Robin: Patrick Drake is brilliant. He's cocky and arrogant. He's everything I'm not. (laughs) I think that's why I fell for him so hard. He's so sure of himself. I've never seen someone so proud. But, I have to admit… he's rubbed off on me. I never feel more confidant than I do when I'm with him. He makes me proud of who I am and who I could still be. (simply) And he loves me. He loves me so much, Stone. I've never… it's just so strong, his love. (emotionally) And I don't know if he likes the color aubergine, but I think he might one day.
(Robin gently kisses her fingers then touches the stone bridge.)
Robin: So, thank you for sending me someone who would paint their bedroom the color of an eggplant just because I would want to. (sighs) I love you, Stone. Always.
(Robin releases a deep breath then turns around to leave and just as she does Jason approaches the bridge. How's that for irony?)
Robin (gasps): Jason.
(Jason looks past Robin.)
Jason: I didn't know you'd be here.
(Robin sighs slightly.)
Robin: I'm supposed to meet Brenda, but I… I ended up here.
(Jason nods then walks toward her.)
Jason: I got on my bike and ended up here too.
(Robin looks down as Jason passes her and leans on the bridge. She pauses for a moment then turns around and looks at him.)
Robin: I probably should've told you this morning when I saw you.
(Jason just shakes his head.)
Jason: You don't owe me anything.
(Robin walks toward the bridge and leans on it as well.)
Robin: I don't know about that.
(Jason turns his head and looks back at Robin as she turns toward him as well.)
Robin: I owe you for a lot of stuff.
(Jason's eyes lower toward Robin's left hand and he notices her engagement ring and wedding band. He stares at it.)
Robin: Jason, I hope you can be happy for me.
(Jason raises his eyes and looks back at her.)
Jason: I want to be happy for you, Robin.
Robin (confused): You want to be happy for me? (taken back) What? You're not?
Jason: Robin, I want you to be happy. I've always wanted that.
Robin: Well, I am. I'm very happy with Patrick.
Jason (breathes): Patrick.
(Robin looks down.)
Jason: Of all… I can't believe you're his.
(Robin looks up slowly, not quite understanding what Jason meant by that.)
Jason: I know that no one belongs to anyone; I mean, my mind knows that. But, I see you wearing his ring, sharing his last name… and all I keep thinking is that you belong to him. (shakes his head) It's strange.
Robin (awkwardly): Jason…
Jason: I've been married … and I never felt like anyone belonged to me. (looks at her) Why is that?
(Robin clears her throat. This conversation was taking an unexpected turn.)
Robin: I don't know if I “belong” to Patrick. I am still who I am and he's still who he is. We just, kind of, merged a bit to become a “we.” (sighs) But there is a part of me that feels like he is mine and just mine… and I'm his (looks back at Jason) and just his.
(Jason releases a held breath.)
Jason: You're someone else's wife.
(Robin looks down.)
Jason: And you didn't meet him in Paris. You met him here. (looks at her) You met him trying to save my life.
(Robin looks back at Jason.)
Jason: It shouldn't matter to me. And I shouldn't care, but I do.
Robin: It's normal, Jason. (sighs) We shared something beautiful once. It was amazing, but it had its place and it had its time. We're different people now and we want different things.
Jason: Yet you can still come here and remember Stone. (simply) And remembering him doesn't make you look as hurt as you do when you see me. His love for you stayed intact, but mine couldn't. (looks straight ahead) That doesn't seem fair.
(Robin looks down again.)
Robin: Stone didn't break my heart… the circumstances around us did. (looks at him) But you broke my heart, Jason – not a situation. (simply) My love for you didn't falter, but it changed. It had to.
(Jason just quietly nods.)
Robin: I truly hope you and Sam find happiness. (he looks at her) You deserve happiness too, Jason.
(Jason just nods while looking down.)
Jason: Thank you.
(Robin sighs then leans in and tenderly kisses Jason's cheek. He looks back up at her slowly and their eyes meet.)
Robin: Thank you for being there for me in the past. (looks down) I will always, always, remember how good you were to me once. (looks back at him) Goodbye, Jason.
(Robin looks down then walks away from him. Jason knew that this was the end. She meant it. Goodbye. Robin slowly walks toward her car and once she's seated inside of it, she reaches for her purse and opens it. She quickly opens her cell phone and calls Patrick. He picks up on the first ring.)
Patrick (smiling): Mrs. Drake?
Robin (blushes): Hey.
Patrick: Did you meet up with Brenda?
Robin: I'm on my way now.
Patrick (surprised): Oh.
Robin: I just… (shakes her head) Oh, can you please tell Michael I'm sorry for interrupting your lunch?
(Patrick laughs.)
Patrick: Don't be ridiculous. I'm not apologizing for you calling me on our honeymoon. (smiles) What's up, beautiful?
Robin (closes her eyes): I just wanted to hear your voice. (pauses) I just… (sighs) I love you so much, Patrick. And I just want you to know that I have no doubts in my mind that you are the man I'm supposed to be with.
Patrick (teasingly): Do you miss me?
Robin (laughing): Okay, I am hanging up now.
Patrick: No, keep talking to me. What are you going to buy with Brenda?
Robin: Turtlenecks.
Patrick (shocked): What?
Robin: And HUGE flannel PJ's.
Patrick: Now, why would you do that?
Robin: Because I have no idea where our honeymoon is.
Patrick: Well, it's not in Antarctica… so lose the turtlenecks and flannels.
Robin: Does Brenda know where we're going?
Patrick: Oh, look my dessert is here! McBain has great taste in pies!
Robin (shocked): She does?!?! She knows?!?!
Patrick: Gotta go! Love you!
(Robin laughs loudly as Patrick hangs up on her. Brenda knew where her honeymoon was?!?! She was going to kill her! That inspired Robin. She throws her purse onto the passenger seat and starts her car. Robin Scorpio-Drake was on a mission!)

Setting: Wyndham's Shoe Department
(Brenda Barrett is sitting in the middle of the shoe department with about twenty pairs of shoes surrounding her. She looks up when her best friend plops down next to her.)

Brenda: Hey, married girl!
Robin (blurts out): Where's my honeymoon?
(Brenda laughs as she takes off one of her sandals.)
Brenda: Why can't you ever just be surprised?
Robin: I like surprises.
Brenda: But?
(Robin pouts slightly.)
Robin: This is my honeymoon! I want to know!
(Brenda laughs as she tries on another pair of sandals.)
Brenda: Just trust me. The surprise is worth it.
(Robin sighs as she leans back on the small couch. She watches her best friend admire her own feet. How did Robin's “honeymoon” shopping spree become about Brenda finding the perfect sandal for the new season? Brenda turns her head to say something to Robin then stops suddenly.)
Brenda: Something's wrong.
(Robin jumps from her thoughts.)
Robin: What?
Brenda: Something's off.
Robin: Do you need a bigger size?
(Brenda looks back at her best friend.)
Brenda: Nothing's wrong with the sandal – something's wrong with you. What's up?
Robin: Nothing.
Brenda (skeptically): Nothing? Right. Where were you before you met with me?
(Robin looks down at her hands for a moment.)
Robin (hesitates): The Bridge.
(Brenda's features soften as she reaches toward her best friend.)
Brenda: Oh Sweetie… where we scattered Stone's ashes?
(Robin just silently nods. Brenda thinks for a moment then looks closer at her best friend.)
Brenda: And where you met Jason.
(Robin closes her eyes.)
Brenda: That's it! It's Jason. What did he do?
(Robin reopens her eyes and looks at Brenda.)
Robin: Nothing… he just… he showed up.
Brenda (annoyed): Of course he did! Did he say something to hurt you?
Robin: No. It was fine. (pauses) It was good, actually. We said some things that needed to be said… or at least I did.
Brenda: He knows you married Patrick?
(Robin just nods.)
Brenda: This might sound crazy, but did he have a reaction?
(Robin looks back at her best friend.)
Brenda: Hey, the guy stares with the best of them.
Robin: Yes, he had a reaction.
Brenda: And?
Robin: It was strange.
Brenda: Strange?
Robin: I don't know.
Brenda: It bothered him?
Robin (quietly): Maybe… a little.
(Brenda throws the sandal she was trying on onto the floor.)
Brenda: Of course it did! (shakes her head) Sonny trained him so well.
Robin: What?
Brenda: He's Sonny's protégé, remember? You know, don't acknowledge the woman you love until she's with someone else. (annoyed) That was SO Sonny's ammo!
Robin: Well, I can't worry about Jason… or Sonny and his ammo! I'm married to someone else. And I love my husband, and only my husband!
Brenda: Just be prepared.
(Robin looks back at Brenda.)
Robin: Do you want to prepare me for something? (smiles) Please! Tell me! Where's my husband taking me on our honeymoon?!?!
(Brenda just smiles as Robin stares back at her best friend. Meanwhile across town, Patrick Drake walks into the lobby of the Harborview Penthouses, holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers. He quickly checks his mail then starts toward the elevator banks. Just as he turns the corner leading toward the elevators, Jason Morgan does as well. The two men stare at each other. No words were even needed. They simply hated each other.)

Setting: The Harborview Penthouses
(Patrick Drake steps forward and quickly presses the button for the elevator. Jason watches him and his eyes immediately focus on the wedding band now adorning his left hand.)

Patrick (dryly): Morgan.
Jason (just as dryly): Dr. Drake.
(Patrick stares at the elevator, willing it to arrive shortly. He jumps from his thoughts when his cell phone rings. He reaches into his blazer, looks down at the display, smiles widely then answers.)
Patrick (smiling): Yes, Mrs. Drake?
(Jason shoots Patrick a glare as Robin, still at Wyndham's, smiles widely.)
Robin: Can you say that again?
Patrick (laughing): What would you like me to repeat, Mrs. Drake?
Robin: Okay, I'm in the dressing room and…
Patrick (smirks): You're thinking of me?
(A flustered Robin sighs.)
Robin: And I don't know what I should buy.
Patrick (simply): Anything and everything you want, Robin. I gave Brenda my card.
Robin: I have my own money.
Patrick: I know you do, DOCTOR Scorpio-Drake… but let me do this for you.
Robin (sighs): Who would think the easiest things to buy would be the negligees?
Patrick: Now, we're talking. What am I in store for?
Robin: You are no help!
Patrick (laughs): Come on, humor me.
Robin (smiling): Bite me.
Patrick: Where?
Robin (flustered): I'm hanging up now. You are no help whatsoever!
(Patrick laughs as he leans on the wall, still waiting for the elevator, with Jason standing annoyed next to him.)
Patrick (softly): Hey… do you really want to know where we're going?
(Robin smiles as she looks down.)
Robin: Honestly? (simply) No. I trust you more than I've ever trusted anyone. Besides… I, kind of, like that you want to surprise me. (laughs) You keep me on my toes, Drake. That's why I fell in love with you… so if I have to be surprised one more time, fine… surprise me.
Patrick: Good.
(Patrick looks up when finally the elevator arrives.)
Patrick: Hey… I'm about to step into the elevator. Will I be seeing you soon?
Robin: As soon as I can find Brenda.
Patrick: Okay. Be careful. (smiles) And have fun.
Robin: On your card? You know I will.
Patrick: Just buy things with me in mind.
Robin: Patrick, with you in mind? (laughs) I'd be completely naked, if I kept you in mind while I shopped.
(Patrick laughs as suddenly he hears someone bang on the elevator. He looks up and sees Jason standing in the doorway, clearly annoyed.)
Jason (annoyed): Are you coming?
Patrick (to Jason): Yes! (back to Robin) I have to go. Love you.
(Patrick slams shut his cell phone then enters the elevator. Both men stare straight ahead in silence, until Jason finally breaks it.)
Jason: If you hurt her, I'll…
(Patrick turns toward Jason.)
Patrick: You'll what? Are you threatening me?
Jason: No, I'm just warning you. Robin is…
Patrick: I don't need you telling me what Robin is. She is MY wife! MY WIFE! I know Robin very well, thank you very much.
(Jason simply stares back at Patrick.)
Jason: Look, all I'm saying is that Robin means a lot to me and…
Patrick: A lot to you?!? You're kidding me, right? She's been in town how long? You've barely even noticed her. She saved your life and you couldn't even muster up the energy to move your lips properly to express some sort of gratitude. (moves toward him) So please, save the tirade about what Robin means to you and how special she is to you. You're a pathetic joke! She only means something to you now because she's moved on. She's with me now, Jason! ME!
(Jason shakes his head.)
Jason: I have no idea what Robin sees in you.
Patrick: My guess? (he looks straight ahead) I'm nothing like you.
(Jason's head shoots up. He wanted to punch this guy so badly.)
Jason: Look, Robin waited a long time for this. Don't disappoint her, that's all.
(The elevator finally stops. Both men look at each other then finally walk forward. The elevator doors close behind them.)
Patrick: I would never disappoint her. I know what I found in Robin.
(Jason stares at the floor underneath him.)
Jason: You think you know what you found. (pauses) You think that you can't imagine your life without her. And you really can't, until one day you wake up and she's gone.
Patrick: You lost her, Jason.
(Jason looks back at Patrick.)
Patrick: You lost her all on your own. I would almost feel bad for you, if you didn't wreck her. (simply) But, you did. You hurt her more than you probably even know. (moves toward him) And when you needed her, she still came back to help you and when you were done with her help, you threw her to the side. (simply) Jason, you lost every right to ever judge Robin's life. You lost every right to ever attempt to look out for her. (calmly) Because when she needed you to, you weren't man enough to.
(Jason opens his mouth to say something, but Patrick continues.)
Patrick: Robin doesn't need you to defend her honor. She has an uncle who does that quite well, as well as, two parents and a short crazy model who talks way too fast. (confidently) And now she has a husband.
(Jason takes a deep breath. He wanted to knock Patrick Drake into next week. Before he could respond, Sam flies toward them.)
Sam: Jason!
(Jason turns around surprised to hear Sam's voice.)
Jason: Hey.
Sam: Is everything okay?
Jason: Yeah.
Sam: You're sure? The way you flew out of here this morning after seeing the newspaper, I just…
(Patrick looks up then turns toward Jason. He doesn't need to say a word. It bothered Jason to the core that Robin was married. And she was married to Patrick Drake. And they were living across the hall from him. Patrick simply smiles toward Sam.)
Patrick: Hi Sam.
Sam: Hi. (looks at Jason) Jason, what's going on?
Patrick: I'll let you two catch up.
(Jason watches Patrick go into his Penthouse then sighs.)
Jason: Robin and Patrick got married last night.
Sam (surprised): Married? Wow!
(Jason just nods.)
Sam: I guess, Patrick's lame lines ended up working in the end.
Jason (absently): Yeah, I guess.
Sam: So, is that what you two were talking about back there?
(Jason runs his hand along his neck.)
Jason: I asked him not to hurt her.
Sam: Jason, Robin seems like a smart woman. You know, if she sees something in Patrick, then maybe there's something there.
Jason: He's a jerk, Sam.
Sam: Well, it's really none of our business. They're married.
Jason (sighs): Let's go inside.
(Jason walks toward their Penthouse. Sam watches Jason enter their home then glances toward Robin and Patrick's door. It really wasn't any of their business.)

Setting: Wyndham's Department Store
(Robin flies out of her dressing room hysterically laughing wearing a full-length dark purple gown. Brenda recommended that Robin purchase one formal gown… clue #1. She smiles widely at the sight of her best friend.)

Brenda: Beautiful! Spin for me.
(Robin spins around feeling the material dance around her.)
Brenda: So? What do you think?
Robin: I still kind of like the black one.
Brenda: You know what I say? Why choose when you can have both?
(Robin rolls her eyes as she walks back into the dressing room.)
Robin: If only you thought that way about clothes.
(Brenda laughs as she plops back down on the couch waiting to see Robin's next outfit.)
Brenda: Are you trying to say something, little sister of mine?
Robin: Wouldn't dream of it.
Brenda: Hey… you know what I was just thinking?
(Robin peaks her head from behind the curtain.)
Robin: Do I want to hear this?
Brenda: I would hope so. (smiles) This is probably the happiest I've ever seen you. You seem so free… so light.
(Robin walks back out of the dressing room wearing a simple black dress.)
Robin: Because that's how I feel.
(Robin sits down in front of her best friend and looks up at her.)
Robin: Patrick makes me feel very light. I mean, yes he drives me insane… but it's a good insane. (pauses) And he makes me feel hopeful.
Brenda (smiles): Hopeful is a good thing. (happily) Now, get the rest of your clothes… so we can hit the next spot!
(Robin leaps up and runs back into her dressing room. Meanwhile, Brenda jumps up and decides to look around for more clothes. Moments later, Robin walks out of her dressing room holding several clothes in her arms and stops shortly when she sees Carly Corinthos walking into the dressing room area as well.)
Carly: Well, what do we have here? (tilts her head) Hubby get bored of you already?
Robin: Carly, don't start.
Carly: No, this is classic. I heard of quick marriages, but this is a record – even in Port Charles.
(Robin rolls her eyes and starts to walk past Carly.)
Carly: I can't believe you actually trapped someone into marriage.
Robin: Really? I can't believe you actually trapped… let me think, how many times have you been married again, Caroline Benson Spencer Quartermaine Corinthos Corinthos Alcazar? Did I leave anyone out?
Carly: Patrick will drop you so quick once he gets to see the real you.
Robin: Oh, like Sonny and Lorenzo did?
(Carly starts to walk toward Robin and just as she's about to say something, Brenda comes flying inside the dressing area.)
Brenda: Oh no, you don't!
(Brenda jumps in between Robin and Carly. She looks directly at Carly.)
Brenda: You stay away from her!
Carly: Please! She's the one that came back to this town! She's the one that walks around like she is the princess of Port Charles! (looks at Robin) I hate to break it to you, but you're not, honey.
(Robin rolls her eyes and shakes her head.)
Brenda: Come on! We're done!
(Brenda pulls Robin by the arm gently and ushers out of the dressing room. Once Robin's out of the room, Brenda peaks her head back in and looks at Carly.)
Brenda: Go near her again and I'll show you what a real mental breakdown looks like.

Setting: Robin & Patrick's Penthouse
(Robin and Brenda are laughing as they open the door to the Penthouse. Patrick leaps off the couch at the sight of his wife. His wife. He never got tired saying that. He quickly walks over to them and helps them with their bags.)

Patrick: Got everything you wanted?
(Robin smiles and looks at Patrick directly.)
Robin: Now I do.
(Patrick smiles widely, as a blush slowly covers Robin's entire face. Brenda seeing this rolls her eyes slightly and picks up her shopping bag filled with sandals.)
Brenda: I am heading back to the Metro Court.
(Robin turns around smiling.)
Robin: No, you don't have to go.
(Brenda glances at Patrick and smiles.)
Brenda: No, I think I do. (smiles widely) Besides, I am going to order in the mother of all meals tonight… all on Carly and Jax's dime. That alone, makes me all kinds of hungry.
(Robin shakes her head.)
Robin: You are horrible, you know that, right?
Brenda: Yeah, but you love me, anyway.
Robin (laughs): True.
(Robin walks over to Brenda and hugs her tightly.)
Robin: Thank you for today. (leans in toward her ear) And thank you for always being my guard dog.
(Brenda laughs as they pull apart.)
Brenda: Woof!
(Robin shakes her head laughing as Brenda walks toward the door. Right before she opens it, she looks at Robin and Patrick.)
Brenda: Have a good night, Mr. and Mrs. Drake.
(Robin smiles as she leans into Patrick's chest.)
Robin (softly): Mr. and Mrs. Drake.
Patrick: Sounds good, huh?
(Robin reaches up and kisses Patrick tenderly.)
Robin: Sounds amazing.
(As they pull apart, Patrick looks down at his wife.)
Robin (smiling): So, what do you want to do next?
Patrick: How about I give you this…
(Patrick walks over to the dining room table and picks up a small black box with a red ribbon tied around it. He hands it to Robin as she looks back at him curiously.)
Robin: And this is…
Patrick (smirking): Open it and find out.
(Robin's eyes immediately widen as she starts unraveling the ribbon.)
Robin: Is this what I think it is?
(Robin throws the top of the box onto the floor.)
Robin (excited): It is! (looks at Patrick) It's our honeymoon tickets!
