Chapter 11

- The Next Day
Setting: General Hospital Roof
(Robin Scorpio walks onto the roof in her scrubs. She sighs tiredly as she runs her hands behind her neck as she overlooks the city of Port Charles. It had been a long day. Drew Randall had started his treatment this morning. Robin and Noah monitored his condition closely and so far it seemed to be doing what it needed to be. Noah suggested Robin take a little bit of a break and she found herself up here. After a few moments, Robin looks up when she hears the door opening behind her. Patrick sighs somewhat relieved when he sees her. )

Robin: I was looking for you this morning when I came in.
(Patrick looks back at Robin surprised.)
Patrick: You were?
(Robin turns around slowly and looks at him.)
Robin: I wanted to apologize about last night. You came by place to see if I was alright – not to get into an argument with me over bedside manner. I was scared and instead of letting you try to soothe my fears, I took them out on you and I’m sorry.
(Patrick sighs as he approaches Robin and stands next to her.)
Patrick: We have very different approaches to medicine. (He looks at her) One doesn’t necessarily work better than the other.
(Robin simply nods.)
Patrick: And it’s probably why we are such a good team when we consult. You see what I don’t.
Robin (smiles): And vice-versa?
(Patrick nods as he turns fully toward her.)
Patrick: And vice-versa. (Pauses) How’s Drew?
Robin (breathes): So far, so good. I’ve been with him for the last four hours and his body seems to be accepting the treatment the way we all hoped.
Patrick (nods): Good.
(Patrick moves closer to Robin and takes her hand in his. He silently looks down at it for a moment then looks back at her.)
Patrick: What else is going on?
(Robin stares at Patrick’s hand in hers then looks back at him.)
Robin: Nikolas planned the christening for next week. I just put in for a few days off downstairs.
(Patrick just nods.)
Robin: I hope Drew is out of the woods by then. I really don’t feel comfortable leaving the country if he’s still on my treatment.
Patrick: My dad will be here… and so will I. (Looks at her) I won’t let anything happen to him.
Robin: Thank you. (Smiles) Hey… come here.
(Robin pulls Patrick slowly toward her then guides his head down to hers and kisses him tenderly. He eases slightly into her kiss then raises his hands to her face and deepens the kiss. He would never admit it to her, but he missed her and will miss her when she’s away. And what he couldn’t say with words, he’d say with his actions… so he kissed her with everything he had. Robin gasps softly as she feels Patrick’s hands lower to the pants of her scrubs. She pulls away slightly and looks back at him.)
Robin: Did you lock the roof door?
(Patrick smiles widely.)
Patrick: Does a doctor travel without his stethoscope?
(Robin smiles as she bites her bottom lip then pulls Patrick by the waistband of his scrubs toward one of the slightly hidden alcoves of the roof. And the only sounds that could be heard in the thick June air was their laughter as they fell down onto the ground.)

Setting: The Nurses’ Station at General Hospital
(Lulu Spencer walks off the elevator of General Hospital clearly looking for someone. She scans the entire floor then stops when she suddenly sees her cousin Carly looking through some documents at the Nurses’ Station. Knowing that she’s up to no good, Lulu walks over to the Nurses’ Station and stands next to her cousin.)

Lulu: So, what trouble are you trying to cause today?
(Carly spins her head and looks back at Lulu.)
Carly: Shouldn’t you be in school or something?
Lulu: And shouldn’t you be with your “boys” or something?
Carly: My children are well taken care of. There is no need for you to worry.
Lulu: I don’t know about that. I saw your ex-husband last night on the docks with Robin and he wasn’t looking too good.
(That got Carly’s attention. She turns her head and looks directly at Lulu.)
Carly: You saw Sonny with Robin?
Lulu: Like I always said, “Robin is great.” It doesn’t surprise me that without you in the picture, Sonny remembered that as well.
Carly: Look, you little brat…
(Before Carly can finish her statement, Epiphany walks over to the Nurses’ Station and looks back at the two women.)
Epiphany: Just a reminder, this is a place of healing. If you want to argue, please feel free to do so in the parking lot.
Lulu: I’m actually looking for Dr. Scorpio. (Smiles) We’re becoming godparents next week to my beautiful nephew and I’d love to catch up with her.
(Carly turns her head and glares at Lulu as she continues.)
Lulu: Has Robin told you anything about this, Nurse Johnson?
(Epiphany looks down at her notes and smirks. It was so obvious that Lulu was trying to rub something into Carly’s face. She shakes her head. Epiphany had little use for Mrs. Corinthos.)
Epiphany: Only that it’s in Greece.
Carly: So, Robin is becoming John’s godmother? (Upset) I was John’s godmother!
(Lulu turns again toward Carly.)
Lulu (scoffs): Godmother?!?! You were acting like you were his mother. Don’t even bother sugarcoating it now.
Carly: I am still that boy’s godmother.
Lulu (rolls her eyes): Sure, in your land of lies and delusions. (Looks at her) Let me ask you this, how can you be a godmother to a child that you will never be allowed within three feet of? (Simply) You are NEVER going near my nephew again.
Carly: John is my best friend’s son.
Lulu: I’m assuming you’re referring to Courtney. (Laughs) You are ridiculous! You didn’t seem to remember her when you were doing her husband mere weeks after she died.
(Carly starts to lunge toward Lulu when suddenly she feels someone pulling her away from the younger Spencer. Lulu smirks proudly as Robin looks at her.)
Robin: What’s going on, Lulu?
(Carly spins around and glares at Patrick.)
Carly: What do you think you’re doing?
Patrick: Saving you from making a scene.
Carly: That little brat just insulted me.
Patrick: She is a teenager. You’re an adult, right? You don’t need to get in her face.
(Carly shakes her head annoyed as Robin glances toward Patrick and smiles. She waves toward him then guides Lulu away from the Nurses’ Station.)
Robin: Okay, so what’s going on?
Lulu: Robin, Carly is up to something.
Robin (sighs): She is always up to something. (Looks at her) I am the last person to say this, but don’t let her get the best of you, okay? Trust me, once you do… you won’t be able to stop.
(Lulu sighs as they continue down the corridor of General Hospital.)
Lulu: I really did come here to see you. I wanted to know if you wanted to buy a gift for John together as his godmothers.
Robin (smiles): I’d love to. (Looks at her) Hey… how was Lucky last night?
Lulu: I don’t know. I think a few days away in Greece will do him some good. (Looks down) He still doesn’t trust Elizabeth.
Robin: Maybe Lucky should invite Elizabeth with us.
Lulu: He said that he did and she said no.
(Robin nods as they continue to walk toward Drew Randall’s room.)
Robin: Maybe she couldn’t get the time off.
Lulu: Or maybe she didn’t want to spend the time with her husband and his family.
Robin: I doubt that.
(Robin and Lulu stop when they spot Noah Drake leaving Drew’s room.)
Noah: Hello Ms. Spencer. (Looks at Robin) Dr. Scorpio.
(Robin smiles.)
Robin: How’s Drew?
Noah: He just finished his first round and is resting now. His family’s with him.
Lulu: Is that Drew Randall?
Robin (looks at her): You know him?
Lulu: No, not really. He’s in the grade underneath me. I heard about him, though. (Awkwardly) Is he going to be okay?
Robin: We hope so.
Lulu: Good. (Sighs) I should go. You have lives to save and I’m just… (Smiles) I’m starting trouble.
(Robin laughs as she watches Lulu disappear down the corridor. Once she’s gone, Robin looks back at Noah.)
Robin: Is he really doing okay?
Noah: He’s doing just as we hoped.
Robin (relieved): Good.
Noah: You should be very proud of yourself, Robin. Your treatments are not only groundbreaking, but extremely effective.
Robin: Do you think I can sit with him?
Noah: Go right ahead.
(Noah watches as Robin walks into Drew’s room. She did have a lot to be proud of. Noah definitely thought that sometimes Dr. Scorpio was too emotional when it came to her patients. He knew firsthand how painful that could be. However, he also knew how rewarding it could be when it works out. And today, he honestly felt that it was going to work out. Meanwhile, on the other side of the hospital, Patrick is walking Carly toward the elevator.)
Patrick: So, what are you up to now?
Carly: I am up to nothing! Lulu attacked me!
Patrick: No, not just today. I’ve seen you hanging around the hospital quite often lately.
(Carly decides to turn on the charm and lazily runs her finger up Patrick’s arm.)
Carly: How do you know it’s not to run into you?
Patrick: While I am flattered, I know that’s not the reason.
(Carly pulls her hand away and rolls her eyes.)
Patrick: I’m trying not to be paranoid, here… but if you’re up to something, I really hope that it doesn’t have anything to do with Robin.
(Carly glares back at Patrick.)
Carly: Robin is a moralistic bitch. If there is any justice in this world, she will get what’s coming to her... and if I get the honor of handing it to her, it will make it all the sweeter. (Pauses) However, I don’t have time for games. I am doing nothing to mess up precious Robin’s life, okay?
Patrick: I hope you’re right.
(And with that, Patrick walks away from the elevator. Carly watches him disappear then turns back toward the elevators. She takes a deep breath then turns again when she sees Elizabeth Spencer walk in Patrick Drake’s direction.)
Liz: Hey Patrick!
(Patrick stops short and turns toward Liz.)
Patrick: What’s up?
Liz: It’s Lucky. This might be completely off-guard, but has Robin mentioned anything to you about this christening in Greece?
Patrick: Only that she’s going next week.
(Elizabeth sighs softly.)
Patrick: Are you going with them?
Liz: Lucky didn’t ask me. I waited for him to ask me and he just stared back at me.
(Patrick smirks as he leans on the desk of the Nurses’ Station.)
Patrick: Did you ever think of just asking him?
(Elizabeth laughs as she walks around to the back of the Nurses’ Station.)
Liz: Wow! That never crossed my mind, Patrick.
(Patrick laughs as he turns toward Liz and looks back at her.)
Patrick: I’m just saying… if you want to go with Lucky, tell him.
(Elizabeth looks down at the papers in front of her and sighs.)
Liz: And what if I don’t?
(Elizabeth looks back up at Patrick.)
Liz: What if I want to spend a few days without Lucky accusing me of cheating on him? What if I want him to go, so I could hope that maybe he’ll miss me? Or what if I just want a few days without looking over my shoulder feeling paranoid that my husband is going to catch me talking to the wrong person? (Looks down) I don’t want to go to Greece with my husband. (Softly) Does that make me a bad wife?
(Patrick simply sighs. He didn’t know what to say. He just stares back at her as she looks up at him.)
Liz: Silence? (Laughs emotionally) Not a good sign, Dr. Drake.
Patrick (breathes): It’s just… I don’t know what to say.
(Elizabeth simply nods and looks down at her notes.)
Liz: Because you think I’m wrong. (Looks at him) Just so you know… I do love my husband, Patrick.
(And just as she says that, the elevator doors open revealing Nikolas Cassidine, his son and his brother. Lucky stops short at the sight of Elizabeth and Patrick. Nikolas sees this and turns toward his brother.)
Nikolas: They work together.
(Lucky just nods.)
Nikolas: I’m going to bring John to his doctor. (Looks at Lucky) Don’t do anything stupid.
Lucky: I won’t.
(Lucky watches his brother and nephew disappear then walks over to the Nurses’ Station. Elizabeth looks up surprised to see her husband.)
Liz: Lucky!
Lucky: I’m here with Nikolas. (Leans in) By any chance, have you seen my sister?
Patrick: I saw Lulu earlier. She was with Robin.
(Lucky turns toward Patrick and forces a smile.)
Lucky (politely): Thank you. I’ll look for Robin then.
(Patrick nods then watches as Lucky disappears down the corridor. Once they’re alone, Liz looks at Patrick.)
Liz: Well, that seemed like progress, no?
Patrick: I didn’t feel like he was about to bash my head in… so yes it did.
Liz: Maybe he hears me.
Patrick: Well, I always say… say something enough times, you’ll eventually get heard.
(Liz smiles widely. However on the other side of the hospital, Lucky Spencer angrily hits the wall next to one of the examination rooms. Elizabeth Spencer was not being heard... and neither was Patrick Drake.)

Chapter 12

- Several Days Later
Setting: Robin’s Bedroom at her Apartment
(Robin’s room looks like a tornado ran through it. She has her suitcase spread open on her bed, dresses on the floor and various other personal items scattered around the small space. She was leaving to go to Greece the next morning and suddenly felt like she had no time whatsoever to pack what she needed. Robin stands in front of her full-length mirror and holds up a simple white dress to her body as she glances toward the speakerphone next to her bed.)

Robin: So, what’s the weather like in Greece again?
Brenda: HOT! I was there two weeks ago on a business trip and I thought I was going to melt.
Robin: So, I should bring more dresses?
Brenda: Definitely.
Robin: Okay.
(Robin spins around and throws a handful of dresses into her suitcase.)
Brenda (softly): Hey sweetie… how’s your patient, Drew, doing?
Robin: Very good. He finished his treatment a few days ago and is now in recovery. He’ll probably be in the hospital for a few more weeks, but he is definitely out of the woods.
Brenda (sighs): Good.
(Robin runs back into her closet and falls onto her knees searching for shoes to go with all of her dresses.)
Brenda: And how is Dr. Drake?
(Robin looks up and smiles slightly.)
Robin (sighs): He’s fine.
Brenda: Still enjoying mind-bending, toe-curling, hip-breaking no-strings sex?
(Robin covers her face embarrassed and groans softly.)
Robin: Brenda!
Brenda (laughs): What? Those were your words, sweetie, not mine!
(Robin leaps from her floor and picks up her phone taking it off speaker.)
Robin: Words that should never, ever be repeated.
Brenda (laughs): Oh come on! I’ve waited how many years to tease you about some mind-bending sex? I am so going to get as much mileage out of this as I can.
Robin (embarrassed): I’m never going to live this down.
Brenda: I’m still laughing over the linen closet story.
Robin: Shush! No more!
(Brenda laughs loudly as Robin throws herself back onto her bed.)
Brenda: So, do you think Patrick can survive a few days without having his toes curled?
(Robin groans loudly as she covers her face with her pillow.)
Robin: How about we change the subject?
Brenda: Okay… for now. (Smiles) Oh! I found the perfect dress for you!
Robin: Dress? For what?
Brenda: For that Cassidine Ball you told me about. Giovanni bought over like twenty dresses for me the other night and there was this one that just SCREAMED you!
Robin (rolls her eyes): Screamed?
Brenda: Screamed, danced, sang… it was perfect, Robin! I already had Gio ship it directly to your office at GH.
Robin (smiles): Thank you, Bren.
Brenda: Not a problem at all.
(Robin looks up when she hears a slight knocking on her door.)
Robin: Hold on, Bren. Someone is knocking on my door.
Brenda: Oh! How much do you want to bet it’s someone who wants to bend your mind before you take off for Greece?
(Robin rolls her eyes as she stands up.)
Robin: Goodbye, Brenda. I’ll call you from Greece.
(Robin turns off her cordless phone and throws it back on her bed on top of the mounts of clothes. She walks toward her front door and smiles widely at the sight of Patrick Drake holding a rather large brown bag when she opens it.)
Robin (smiles): What’s this?
Patrick: Dinner. (Leans in and kisses her cheek) And dessert.
(Robin blushes brightly as Patrick walks into her apartment. She closes her door behind him and watches as he walks over to her kitchen counter. He behaves as if this was his own home. Patrick simply opens up the bag and takes out various containers of food then proceeds to turn around and take out several plates and eating utensils. Robin watches him curiously then moves toward him.)
Robin: Uh… how did you know where everything was?
(Patrick looks down at Robin and smiles.)
Patrick: Considering I’ve only been at your place a handful of times?
Robin: Exactly.
Patrick (leans in toward her): I’m observant.
(Robin simply stares back at Patrick then smiles when he leans down and tenderly kisses her. She would never admit it out loud, but she was hoping she’d see him before she left for Greece. Robin had a few meetings with him at General Hospital earlier in the day where they went over the cases that she would like him to monitor in her absence, but he never mentioned if he wanted to see her after work or not. And Robin was trying really hard to keep their boundaries clear, so she didn’t press. She simply thanked him then left GH once her shift was over. But nothing could describe the happiness she felt when she opened the door and found Patrick Drake waiting for her holding a bag of food. Brenda was right. Someone would miss having their toes curled… however, Robin feared it wouldn’t be Patrick – it would be her. Patrick smiles under her kisses when he feels Robin reach toward him and pull him closer to her. She wanted him just as much as he wanted her. And without any words, Patrick picks her up and gently places her on top of the kitchen counter. A laughing Robin pulls away slightly and looks back at Patrick as he stands between her legs.)
Robin (laughing): The food.
(Patrick leans in again and kisses her neck.)
Patrick: I love cold Chinese food.

Setting: The Docks
(It’s late in the evening. Lucky Spencer is walking back from the launch coming from Wyndemere. He just had dinner with Nikolas and Lulu. She decided to stay behind and spend the night on Spoon Island since they have an early flight in the morning. Lucky, on the other hand, thought he should go home and spend some time with his family. He pulls out his cell phone and decides to call Elizabeth at their house to see if she and Cameron wanted anything from the store. When he doesn’t get an answer, he decides to call Audrey to see if they’re there.)

Lucky: Hey Audrey. It’s Lucky. Is Elizabeth there with Cameron?
Audrey: Oh hello, Lucky. Elizabeth dropped off Cameron a few hours ago. She said she was meeting the girls at Jake’s.
(Lucky locks his jaw and nods.)
Lucky: Of course. Thank you, Audrey. I’ll be by soon to pick up Cameron.
Audrey: Take your time.
(Lucky slams his cell phone shut and is almost tempted to toss it across the Port Charles River. He stops himself and takes a deep cleansing breath instead. He had to end this once and for all. He had to find out if Elizabeth was cheating on him. Hearing her profess her love to him seemed like it was simply no longer enough, especially when his own cousin constantly reminds him that she's hanging around Dr. Drake. Lucky takes another deep breath then opens his cell phone. He dials in a few numbers.)
Carly: Metro Court.
Lucky (sighs): Carly, it’s Lucky. You offered to help me with Elizabeth.
(At the Metro Court, Carly smiles widely as she scoots from behind the bar and away from Jax’s prying eyes and ears. However, Jax continues to watch her curiously.)
Carly: Yes, Lucky! Anything for you. (Whispers) So, did you decide to take me up on my offer?
Lucky: You were right. It’s the perfect time to figure out what’s going on.
Carly: Lucky, by the time you come back from Greece… you’ll have all the answers you need, I promise.

Setting: Robin’s Kitchen
(The sound of breathless laughter fills the entire small kitchen. Both Robin and Patrick are sitting on the floor of her kitchen leaning against her cabinets laughing. She’s the first to turn her head and breaks out into another fit of giggles when she sees Patrick’s naked chest rising and falling at rapid speeds. He turns his head as well and reaches for Robin’s hand.)

Patrick (breathlessly): I wouldn’t be laughing too much if I was you. (Leans in toward her) I think you’re going to need all the air you can muster up for later.
(Robin nods, still trying to catch her own breath, then rests her head on the cabinet again.)
Robin (lightly): So, do you think you can hold out until I come back from Greece?
(Patrick turns his head toward Robin. The moment her last sentence leaves her mouth, Robin’s eyes fly open. She silently curses herself for making any sort of assumptions. For all she knew, Patrick could have another no-strings relationship across town waiting for him. They didn’t have a commitment. There was no reason for him to be “faithful” to her while she was in another country. Robin takes a deep breath, suddenly feeling nauseous, and starts reaching for her clothes. Patrick can tell that something changed with her and slowly reaches for her.)
Patrick (softly): Hey…
(Robin freezes slightly at his touch and looks down, still avoiding his eyes.)
Patrick: What just happened?
Robin: Nothing.
(Robin stands up and throws her tank top back on then jumps into her boxer shorts.)
Robin: I just remembered that our food is getting cold.
Patrick: It’s past cold.
(Patrick reaches for his own clothes then stands up as well while stepping into his boxer briefs.)
Patrick: I think it can wait a few minutes longer.
(Robin walks past Patrick and starts to open the bags of food he brought with him.)
Robin: It’s getting late and you must be getting hungry, so…
(Patrick stops Robin by gently covering her hand with his, stopping her from furthering opening the bags.)
Patrick: I’m serious. What just happened?
(Robin looks down and then turns around fully. She looks up at Patrick as he stands directly in front of her with her back to the counter. She didn’t know how to put into words what had just happened between them.)
Robin (awkwardly): I just had a moment where I forgot the rules between us and… I’m sorry.
Patrick (confused): The rules? You were thinking about our rules after what just happened between us. (Shakes his head) You’re a better person than me, because I can’t even think at all right now.
(Robin just looks back at Patrick.)
Patrick: I’m serious.
(Patrick reaches toward Robin and pulls her toward him.)
Patrick: Why do you have to think so much? We just had yet another amazing, earth-shattering session of sex. Why can’t you just live in the moment?
(Robin looks down and nods.)
Robin: I am. (Looks back at him) I will.
(Robin clears her throat then turns her attention back to the food.)
Robin: And in this moment, I am hungry for food.
(Patrick stands behind Robin and just nods. He watches her as she opens the bags in front of her then slowly slides his arms around her waist. Robin closes her eyes. She couldn’t allow herself to make this out to be more than it is. She simply can’t.)
Patrick: Promise me one thing.
(Robin looks up slightly.)
Robin: Sure.
Patrick: Don’t pull a Paris Hilton on me and fall in love with some Greek shipping heir.
(Robin looks down and laughs. Patrick eases slightly once he feels Robin relax a bit in his arms.)
Robin (lightly): I’ll try not to. It could be tempting, though.
(Patrick leans down and tenderly kisses Robin’s neck.)
Patrick: I’ll make a deal with you.
(Robin raises her head curiously as Patrick moves his kisses from her neck to her chin.)
Patrick (lightly): I won’t go looking for love in all the wrong places while you’re gone, if you won’t either.
(Robin bites her bottom lip and spins around in Patrick’s arms. She easily throws her arms around him and sighs softly.)
Robin: Deal.
Patrick (leans in): Good.
(Patrick tenderly kisses Robin and within mere minutes, he’s raising the thin tank top from her body and removes it completely from her body. This was insane. They were insane. Patrick takes a quick intake of breath when Robin begins to pull him back toward her couch. He pulls away slightly.)
Patrick (smirking): I’ve yet to see your bedroom, Dr. Scorpio.
(He was right. Robin had never made love to Patrick in her own bed. And as long as they were having a casual, no-strings relationship, they never would. Robin lowers her eyes to Patrick’s boxer shorts and she begins to tug on them.)
Robin: You have a thing against couches?
(It still didn’t occur to Patrick that Robin didn’t want him in her bedroom. All he knew was that tomorrow she was leaving to go to Greece for a few days and he wanted to have her as many times as he could before that happened. Therefore, mere location meant nothing at all to him.)

Chapter 13

- The Next Day
Setting: The Cassidine Grounds in Greece
(Robin Scorpio and Lulu Spencer are walking down a small staircase leading to a stretch of land that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Robin is the first to take a deep breath at the beauty of the view as Lulu sighs as well. Both women could see why Nikolas loved coming back here. This was definitely a small piece of paradise on earth.)

Lulu: Sometimes I still cannot believe that my brother is a prince.
(Robin turns her head and looks at Lulu.)
Robin: And then you get reminded when he gets off of his private jet and the paparazzi are fawning all over him.
(Lulu laughs.)
Lulu: Exactly.
Robin: This is beautiful.
(Lulu turns her head and looks at Robin.)
Lulu: So, was it okay to leave your patient you were worried about?
Robin (nods): Yes, thank you. Drew is healing perfectly. He’s still being monitored, but he’s getting better with each day. Noah promised to call me if there were any changes.
Lulu: You like Dr. Drake a lot, don’t you?
(Robin smiles brightly.)
Robin: Noah is a good man. (looks at her) He’s been through so much these last few years and the way he’s trying to rebuild his life… I just find it inspiring. (smiles) And he’s an amazing doctor.
(Lulu smiles widely as she leans into Robin.)
Lulu: And his son isn’t half bad either, huh?
(Robin laughs loudly.)
Robin: No, he isn’t.
(The two young women laugh for a moment together then turn around when they see Lucky Spencer and Nikolas Cassidine approaching them in their swimming trunks. Nikolas is holding John in his arms.)
Nikolas: Are you ladies up for a swim?
(Robin walks over to Nikolas and John. She looks down at the young baby and smiles.)
Robin: He is so gorgeous, Nikolas.
Nikolas: I know. (Laughs) The more time I spend with him, the more I see my family in him. (Looks at Lulu) And I mean the good parts… like our mom.
(Lulu smiles as she leans over Robin’s shoulder and looks at the small baby as well.)
Lulu: He does kind of look like you, Lucky.
(A clearly distracted Lucky turns his head then looks back at Robin, Nikolas and Lulu.)
Lulu: You know, in that picture Grandma has in her kitchen of you.
Lucky: I hate that picture.
Robin (laughs): Aww! You were such a cute kid, Lucky.
Lucky (laughs): You would think that.
Robin: No, you were! (Looks at Nikolas) Lucky had to be hands down the most adorable kid I’d ever seen. (Laughs) Remember how you and Foster were inseparable?
(Lucky just shakes his head as he walks over to his brother and looks down at his nephew.)
Lucky: Maybe John would like a dog. (smiles) Do you want a little Foster of your own?
(Nikolas looks back at his brother and laughs.)
Nikolas: Why don’t we wait until John walks first? (Laughs) But, I fully encourage you to buy one for Cameron and have him tear up your place.
(Lucky nods while looking down. Lulu and Robin both notice the change in Lucky’s demeanor and glance at one another.)
Lulu (excited): Hey! Nikolas, did you say something about taking a swim?
(Robin smiles widely as well.)
Robin: I am all for a swim! Come on! (Tugs Lucky’s arm) It could be fun! Come on!
(Lucky rolls his eyes then sighs.)
Lucky (reluctantly): Okay.
(Lulu and Nikolas watch Robin pull Lucky down the pathway and head back toward the main house. Once they’re alone, Nikolas looks back at his younger sister.)
Nikolas: Not that I encourage gossip or you getting involved in this mess in any way whatsoever, do you know what’s going on between Lucky and Elizabeth?
Lulu: I saw Liz with Patrick Drake on the docks the other night.
(Nikolas releases a loud breath.)
Lulu: But I don’t think it’s Patrick, Nikolas. (Looks at Nikolas) He’s too into Robin. And she’s too into him. (Sighs) The only ones who don’t seem “into” who they should be, is Elizabeth and I have to admit… Lucky.
Nikolas: Do you really think Elizabeth is interested in other people? Can you honestly believe that? I’ve known Elizabeth for a very long time. She is not a bad person. You need to be careful, Lulu, before you make those sort of grand statements.
(Lulu turns toward her brother.)
Lulu: I haven’t repeated any of them to Lucky. Do you think I would honestly feed into his anger? Nikolas, I’ve just sat back and watched. But, I don’t know how much longer I can. (Simply) Did you know that Elizabeth has been going to Jason’s Penthouse? (Pauses) And then moments later, I’ll be on the docks with Dad and find her with Patrick? Just so you know, my grand statements aren’t completely unfounded. I have YET to stumble upon her with my brother – her husband.
Nikolas: Maybe Elizabeth is just avoiding him.
Lulu: Hey, I’m all for avoidance. It’s disrespect I have a problem with. She is disrespecting my brother by hanging around the local kingpin and fawning all over Patrick.
Nikolas: Aren’t you being a little extreme, Lulu?
Lulu: Lucky is a cop. What do you think his co-workers would think if they knew that his wife was being “buddy buddy” with the guy they are working night and day to put away? (Simply) My brother deserves better than that. And you’re right – maybe nothing is going on between Elizabeth and whoever, but something is NOT going on between Elizabeth and her husband.
Nikolas: And you don’t think Lucky is partly to blame? We both know that he isn’t himself.
Lulu: I know that, you know that – heck, I think even Robin already picked up on it. I just… I wish Elizabeth put more effort into Lucky and less into Jason. And because of that, no matter how wrong Lucky is, I will never forgive her.
(Nikolas simply sighs. His sister definitely had her father’s irrational, leap before thinking, way of going through life. He looks back at his younger sister, even more determined to get her to ease off of Liz a bit. For Lucky to find his way back to his family, he would need all of their support – including Lulu’s.)

Setting: General Hospital
(Jasper Jacks is sitting in the waiting area of General Hospital and looks up when he suddenly sees Carly Corinthos walking off of the elevator. He watches her in silence as she walks over to the Nurses’ Station and leans in toward one of the male nurses.)

Carly: Hi. I have a really embarrassing favor to ask of you.
Nurse: Okay.
Carly: I’m Carly Corinthos and I own the Metro Court. (Smiles) The other day, this lady called and said she was Patrick Drake’s patient. (Nervously) Anyway, she wanted to personally thank him and her attending nurse for her treatment… and the most embarrassing thing happened! I was writing down her name and I spilled water all over the paper. (Leans in) By any chance, do you think you could look up the name for me… or I could take a peak at their most recent patients?
Nurse: Patient files are confidential.
Carly: I know, but… see, Elizabeth Spencer is married to my cousin and I’m sure you’ve heard all about their money problems. This patient really wanted to thank them. You would be doing an amazing, generous thing for them.
(The male nurse sighs as he looks back at Carly skeptically.)
Nurse: This patient wanted to thank them?
Carly: With free meals, rooms at the Metro Court, nights of fine wining… the works! You would be giving Elizabeth and her husband, my cousin, the present of a lifetime.
(The nurse sighs again then walks over to the desk computer. He starts typing into the computer.)
Nurse: The last three patients Dr. Drake worked on with Elizabeth Spencer personally were Claire Jenkins, Marie Donahue and Sandra Sullivan.
(Carly smiles.)
Carly: It was Donahue – definitely Donahue. (Leans in) You are a life saver, (looks at his name tag) Tim.

Setting: The General Hospital Locker Room
(Patrick Drake is sitting on the benches in front of his locker staring down at his hands when suddenly Maxie Jones walks into the locker room. She stops short at the sight of Patrick and smiles widely.)

Maxie: Hello, Dr. Drake.
(Patrick looks up at the young volunteer and nods.)
Patrick: Hi Maxie.
(Patrick’s eyes lower to a black dress in Maxie’s hands.)
Patrick (smiles): Going somewhere?
(Maxie looks down at the dress and shakes her head.)
Maxie: Me? No. It’s not my dress. (Looks at him) It’s Robin’s.
(Patrick’s eyes widen somewhat in shock. It didn’t look like a dress Robin would particularly pick out for herself. It was made of a thin material and from the looks of it, it seemed backless. Patrick thought it was a breathtakingly beautiful dress.)
Maxie: She didn’t pick it out. She hasn’t even seen it yet. Her best friend, Brenda, just sent it to her from Italy. (Looks at him) It’s for that Cassidine ball Nikolas is throwing for Sam when he gets back from Greece.
(Patrick nods as he reaches for the dress. He holds it in his hands and nods appreciatively.)
Patrick: That’s some dress.
Maxie (laughs): Brenda has amazing taste. She always has.
(Patrick hands Maxie back the dress and she walks toward Robin’s locker. With her back to Patrick, she opens the locker a simple ease.)
Maxie: Speaking of Robin… you must be at a loss without her.
(Patrick looks back at Maxie as she attempts to hide her smile.)
Patrick: I’m fine, thank you.
Maxie (laughs): Right.
(Maxie turns around and looks at Patrick.)
Maxie: You’re in here pouting like a boy whose best friend just moved to another town.
(Patrick points toward Maxie.)
Patrick: I don’t pout.
Maxie: Pouting or not, you definitely look a little loss. (Smiles) Hey, maybe I can help you find your way.
Patrick (smirks): You got a road map in that pocket of yours?
Maxie: No, but I do have a message for you from Robin.
(Patrick’s head perks up as Maxie shakes her head smiling. He was so transparent.)
Maxie: While you were in surgery this morning, Robin called to check in. She arrived in Greece safe and sound.
(Patrick looks down and nods.)
Maxie: And she asked if you checked in.
(Patrick looks up at her.)
Patrick: She did?
Maxie (smiles): And I might even be bold enough to suggest that she was a little disappointed to hear that you weren’t around.
(Patrick tries all he might, but he can’t hide the small smile that forms on his face. She missed him.)
Maxie: She did say, however, that she would be checking her messages throughout the day and has cell phone service (smiles) in case the mood should strike.
(And with that, Maxie closes Robin’s locker and turns back toward Patrick.)
Maxie: See you around, Dr. Drake.
(Patrick waves toward Maxie then stands up and walks over to his own locker. He opens it then reaches into it for his cell phone. He stares down at it for several moments then shakes his head.)
Patrick: No strings, no commitments.

Setting: The Pool Area on the Cassidine Grounds
(It’s a beautiful afternoon. Robin and Lulu are lounging by the pool in their bikinis as Lucky continues to do laps around the rather large Olympic sized pool non-stop. Robin lowers her sunglasses slightly and studies her old friend. Something did not seem right with him. Lulu turns her head and follows Robin’s gaze.)

Lulu: Maybe he’s burning off steam.
Robin: Maybe.
(Robin looks up when Nikolas reappears holding John in his arms.)
Robin: I still say that is the cutest baby I’ve ever seen.
Lulu (smiles): Of course he is! It’s the genes. (Looks at her) I come from a very good looking gene pool, you know.
(Robin rolls her eyes as Lucky finally starts to emerge from the pool. Lulu throws her brother a towel, then smiles widely as a thought comes to her. She leaps from her lounge chair and runs over to her purse.)
Lulu: I so have to capture this moment!
(Robin looks up at Lulu.)
Robin: Me in my bikini?
Lulu (smiles): No! This is a picture that needs to go down in history.
(Lulu takes out digital camera then starts to set up the automatic timer.)
Lulu: Come on! A Cassidine, Spencer and Scorpio family portrait! It’s friggin’ classic.
(Nikolas glances toward Robin and just shakes his head.)
Lulu: I think I might even send it to my dad on his cell phone. (Laughs) How awesome would that be?
(Lulu jumps next to Robin and waves toward Lucky and Nikolas. The two men reluctantly stand behind the two young women and smile.)
Robin (smiling): Only if you send a copy to my dad too.
Lulu: Done!
(And with that, Lulu’s digital camera captures a moment that would make Robert Scorpio and Luke Spencer fall to their knees in annoyance. Robin looks back at the younger girl next to her and laughs. She had to admit – she would love to see her father’s face when he saw that picture. Robin suddenly looks back at Lulu curiously as she reaches over her for her own cell phone.)
Lulu: You know, who else we should send a photo to?
Robin (curiously): Who?
(Lulu opens Robin’s cell phone and quickly snaps a photo of Robin in her barely there white bikini.)
Lulu (nonchalantly): Dr. Patrick Drake.
(Robin’s mouth falls as Lulu quickly starts scrolling through Robin’s contact list.)
Robin: Lulu! No!
Lulu: Why not? You look hot!
(Lulu looks at Lucky and Nikolas.)
Lulu: Does she look hot or not?
(Lucky holds up his left hand and points to his wedding band.)
Lucky: I’m married.
(Nikolas raises up John.)
Nikolas: And I’m a father.
Lulu: And you’re both men. (Looks back at Robin) You’re hot, trust me.
(Robin covers her face embarrassed as Lulu continues to scroll through Robin’s list of contacts.)
Robin: I can’t believe you’re doing this.
Lulu: Not doing this… it’s already done. (reading the display) Message sent.
(Lulu hands Robin back her phone smiling widely.)
Robin: No, you didn’t!
(Robin looks down at her cell phone and stares down at it with her mouth wide open.)
Robin: I can’t believe you did this.
Lulu: Come on! Give Dr. Drake a little international action.
(Robin groans again as she throws herself back onto the lounge chair. Suddenly the loud sound of a cell phone fills the air between them. Robin’s eyes widen as she looks down the display.)
Lulu (laughing): Is it the good doctor?
(Robin glares back at Lulu as she stands up.)
Robin: I am taking this in private.
(Robin quickly wraps a sarong around her waist as she storms off. Once she’s gone, Lulu bursts out laughing as Nikolas just shakes his head. Robin walks toward one of the small gazebos and quickly answers her phone.)
Robin: I can explain that picture.
Patrick: No explanations needed. (Smirks) How quickly do you want me to meet you in Greece?
(Robin covers her face embarrassed.)
Robin: It was Lulu. She sent you the picture.
Patrick: And here I was thinking the girl didn’t like me. (Smiles widely) That’s some bikini, Dr. Scorpio.
(Robin feels an intense blush wash over her entire body.)
Robin: It’s just a bikini.
Patrick: Just a bikini? Okay, from my viewpoint, and don’t worry, this bad boy is already my cell phone wall paper…
Robin: Oh my goodness…
Patrick (continues): It looks like it’s made of a very thin material that’s soft to the touch. (Clears his throat) Is it?
Robin: I wouldn’t know, Patrick.
Patrick: Well, when you come home… we can test it out.
Robin (laughs): Whatever…
(Sitting in the waiting area, Patrick looks up when there is suddenly a delivery man with a message for him from the Metro Court standing above him.)
Patrick: Hold on one second, Robin.
(Patrick looks down at the note curiously as the man disappears then quickly shakes it off. He turns his attention back to Robin.)
Patrick: Now, where were we?
Robin: You were telling me about your surgeries.
Patrick (smiles): Yes! String bikinis. Exactly how many strings hold up that small number you’re wearing?
(Robin rolls her eyes as she leans back on one of the lounge chairs. How was it possible for this man to annoy and turn her on all at the same time from another country?)

Chapter 14

- A Few Days Later
Setting: The Dining Room at the Cassidine Mansion in Greece
(It’s a beautiful evening. Robin, Lucky, Nikolas and Lulu just returned from John’s Christening. It was a beautiful small, intimate ceremony. It was everything Courtney would have wanted for her son with Nikolas – and that was his only goal throughout the entire day. It was a day filled with love without all of the complications that were in Port Charles. Nikolas didn’t want anything vile from that town to touch his son that day. And it didn’t. He looks up from the head of the table and smiles widely at the sight of Robin and Lulu laughing over something. It made him happy to see his younger sister finally at ease. Nikolas turns his attention toward his younger brother and sighs. Lucky didn’t have that same ease. He’s about to say something when one of his housekeepers walks into the dining room and heads toward Lucky with an envelope.)

Housekeeper: Master Spencer, this came for you this afternoon.
(Lucky takes a deep breath and takes the envelope from the housekeeper. He knew exactly what this was. Carly had called him earlier and told him that the private investigator she hired for him would send Lucky whatever he had found. Lucky needed to know what he was returning home to. He swore to himself that whatever fraud his marriage had become would no longer be one when he returned from Greece. Robin and Lulu’s laughter suddenly stop when the two women turn their attention to Lucky. He takes a deep breath then slowly reveals several photographs from the manila envelope in his hands. Robin watches as Lucky’s face falls slightly.)
Robin (softly): Lucky?
(Lucky stands up from the dining room table and angrily tosses the photos in his hands across the dining room table. Lulu watches Robin’s eyes widen slightly as various pictures of Patrick and Elizabeth appear in front of them. Pictures of them on the docks, pictures of them at the Metro Court, pictures of them in front of General Hospital. Words couldn’t even begin to describe what was going through Robin’s mind at that moment. She slowly reaches for one of the photos and studies it.)
Lucky: You still think you can trust that bastard?
(Lulu looks at Robin then back at her brother. Before she can even say anything, Lucky storms out of the dining room. Lulu looks back at Robin.)
Lulu: I’m sorry, Robin… but…
(Robin shakes her head and looks at Lulu.)
Robin: No, go after Lucky.
(Lulu rushes off after her brother leaving Robin and Nikolas alone in the dining room. There was an intense silence. Nikolas hesitantly reaches for one of the photos and looks down at it as well.)
Nikolas: I didn’t want to believe it.
(Robin shakes her head.)
Robin: I still don’t.
Nikolas: Robin, come on…
(Robin looks back at Nikolas.)
Robin: These are just pictures. They could be taken out of context. They aren’t kissing; they aren’t in compromised positions.
Nikolas: Yeah, but… Robin, come on! This is Patrick Drake.
(Robin looks back at Nikolas and stares at him.)
Robin: And what is that supposed to mean?
Nikolas: The guy can’t be trusted.
Robin: He’s told me more than once that nothing was going on between him and Elizabeth. I choose to believe him.
Nikolas: But, did you ever have several pictures that told you otherwise?
(Robin looks down at the pictures again. She stares at them. She had to admit – there was one that got to her somewhat. It was a picture of Elizabeth and Patrick at the Metro Court eating together. They were laughing.)
Robin: Patrick told me…
Nikolas: Robin, are you his girlfriend?
(Robin’s head shoots up.)
Nikolas: Has he ever told you that he would be faithful to you?
(Robin opens her mouth to say something but can’t find the words to express what she needs to.)
Nikolas: I mean, has he ever offered you a commitment of any sort?
(Robin looks down and shakes her head.)
Robin (softly): No.
Nikolas: Has he ever told you how he felt about you?
Robin (softly): No.
Nikolas: Then, how can you be so certain that he isn’t going after my brother’s wife?
(Robin slowly looks back at Nikolas.)
Nikolas: I’m not saying that Elizabeth is cheating on my brother. I’m not. (Picks up a photo) But something is not right about this.
(Robin reaches toward the photos again and stares at the one of them from the Metro Court.)
Robin: When did Lucky hire a private investigator?
Nikolas: I have no idea.
(Robin closes her eyes as she turns the picture over. She couldn’t look at it anymore.)
Robin: I have no right to be hurt.
Nikolas (softly): Robin…
Robin: Patrick and I aren’t married. (Shakes her head) We’re not even dating. He doesn’t owe me anything.
Nikolas: He owes you the truth, Robin – any respectable man would at least give you that.
(Robin stands up slowly.)
Robin: I have to find Lucky.
Nikolas: And what are you going to say?
Robin: This isn’t about Patrick and Elizabeth, Nikolas. It doesn’t matter what those photos reveal. It’s not about dinners at the Metro Court or walks along the docks, it’s about trust.
Nikolas: Between Elizabeth and Lucky? (Simply) Or you and Patrick?
(Robin looks down at her hands again then runs her fingers through her long brown tresses.)
Robin: Perhaps both. (Pauses) The one thing I learned from my past mistakes… if you don’t have trust, you don’t have anything.
Nikolas: And with Patrick?
(Robin looks down again.)
Robin (softly): It doesn’t matter if I trust him or not, I don’t trust myself around him.
Nikolas: What do you mean?
(Robin sighs as she tries to find the words to convey what she was feeling. It was so complicated. So complicated that she hadn’t spoken about her feelings toward Patrick to anyone, including him. She decided to have no-strings sex with Patrick and shut down all emotional feelings. That was the easy part. Robin was excellent at turning feelings off. Maybe she learned that from her time with Jason. She hadn’t been so good with that in the past. She always stayed longer than she should have and kept feelings for much longer than she should have. After getting her heart stomped on by Jason Morgan, Robin promised herself that she would never overstay her welcome again… and no one would overstay their welcome in her heart either. Then, there was Patrick Drake. He came into her life and just threw each rule she had made for herself in her face. And quite frankly, she let him… until this very moment. She was breaking and she knew it.)
Robin: I’m scared of settling. (Softly) And I’m scared that he’ll make me forget my worth.
(Robin picks up another picture of Patrick and Elizabeth.)
Robin: He doesn’t want a relationship with me.
(Saying those seven words were much harder than Robin expected them to be. It was the most painful admission she had made in a while.)
Robin: And I’m afraid that I’m going to settle for less than that to be with him.
(Robin looks at Nikolas.)
Robin: Do you get what I mean?
(Nikolas just silently nods. He got it. She’s afraid that Patrick will treat her like Jason. Bastards. Both of them. Robin could tell Nikolas was clearly thinking and jumps to respond to his thoughts before he had the chance to verbalize them. )
Robin: Patrick has told me on more than one occasion that he did not want a relationship. He doesn’t do commitment or anything long-term. (Emotionally) I guess, hearing those words and having them visually thrown in your face with someone you actually know are two different things.
Nikolas (softly): How far did things get with you two, Robin?
(Robin smiles slightly. The one thing she always admired about Nikolas was his firm loyalty. It was unshakable. He was her one friend that never betrayed her. Brenda, her best friend, actually married the man who broke her heart. Jasper Jacks, another best friend, is still salivating over the woman who helped break her heart. But, not Nikolas. He still gives Jason hell for how she treated her. It shouldn’t make her smile slightly, but it did. However, Robin wasn’t sure if she was ready to unleash that onto Patrick Drake yet. Robin turns and looks back at Nikolas. She didn’t have to say anything.)
Nikolas: He took advantage of you, didn’t he?
(Robin’s eyes widen and she leaps toward Nikolas. He got the wrong idea.)
Robin (quickly): No! No! It wasn’t like that. Anything I did with Patrick, I wanted to. (Looks down) Maybe things just got out of hand… maybe too many feelings got involved.
(After a few seconds of thought, Robin looks back up at Nikolas.)
Robin: Have you ever just wanted to get lost in someone just to see what it would felt like?
(He nods. That was Courtney for him. Robin smiles slightly as she continues.)
Robin: Well, I wanted to get lost in Patrick. (Simply) No, I should say I still want to get lost in Patrick.
(Robin picks up one of the pictures and looks down at it.)
Robin: I see these pictures and I know that warning bells should be ringing in my head, but instead all I can see is him. (Softly) How handsome he looks and how much I still want to be with him.
(Robin slowly sits down at the dining room table and covers her face.)
Robin (emotionally): I was so stupid to think I could ever do this.
(Nikolas slowly reaches toward Robin and uncovers her face.)
Nikolas: You’re not stupid.
(Robin looks back at Nikolas. He can see the pure vulnerability in her eyes and sighs.)
Nikolas: Robin…
(Robin takes a deep breath then stands up slowly.)
Robin: He’s not with Elizabeth. Patrick may be a jerk. He may be a lot of things, but I don’t think he’d ever break up a marriage.
Nikolas: Can you just tell me why? Give me one reason to believe you and I’ll stand behind Elizabeth. I’ll look past all of the signs, all of the photos – Robin, just give me one reason to believe Patrick Drake wouldn’t do this.
Robin (softly): His parents. (Looks down) I have to believe that Patrick is so afraid of commitment because he respects it so much. (Looks at Nikolas) He grew up in a very committed household… he wouldn’t breakup a marriage.
(Nikolas releases a soft breath.)
Nikolas: Okay. I’ll take your word for it.
Robin (softly): Thank you. (Looks away) I really should look for Lucky.
(Nikolas just nods.)
Nikolas: And I’ll check on John.
(There’s a soft silence in the room. Nikolas watches Robin walk toward the doorway then suddenly calls out to her.)
Nikolas: Robin, I’m sorry.
(Robin wipes her eyes and looks back at Nikolas.)
Robin: I’m not sad because of those pictures, Nikolas. (Looks down) I’m sad because tonight I realized that if I did believe those pictures revealed a truth… it would’ve destroyed me. And for that reason alone, I have to end this thing with Patrick. (Simply) I can’t do casual.

Setting: The Metro Court
(It’s late in the evening. Jasper Jacks is sitting at one of the corner tables working on the books for the hotel. He looks up when suddenly he notices Carly standing by the bar talking to a man he had never seen before. Actually, Jax realizes he was wrong – he had seen this man with Carly more than once during these last few weeks. He had always assumed that this man was a distributor. Somehow, tonight, Jax knew otherwise. Just as he’s about to stand up to approach Carly, he bumps into Patrick Drake. Both men jump back slightly.)

Patrick: Sorry.
(Jax attempts to keep his eyes on Carly.)
Jax: Uh… yeah, sure.
(Patrick starts to walk past Jax then stops and follows his gaze.)
Patrick (smirks): Feeling jealous?
Jax: No, I just…
(Jax suddenly turns toward Patrick.)
Jax: Hey Patrick… have you noticed Carly hanging around the hospital?
(Patrick looks back at Jax.)
Patrick: I actually just mentioned to Carly that she’s been hanging around GH a little too often.
Jax: She hasn’t been hanging around John, right? I mean, Nikolas hasn’t been bringing in him for anything, has he?
(Patrick actually felt compassion for the man in front of him. Patrick’s first assumption when he saw Carly at the hospital was that she up to no good; Jax actually thought she was there for John.)
Patrick: I haven’t seen Nikolas at the hospital.
(Jax just nods. He looks back in the direction of Carly.)
Jax: I think that guy has something to do with Nikolas and John. (Looks at Patrick) She misses him so much.
Patrick (simply): I’m sure she does.
(Jax and Patrick watch as Carly suddenly notices them and smiles awkwardly. She leans in toward the man she was talking to then walks over to Patrick and Jax.)
Carly (smiles): Am I lucky or what? Two of the most eligible bachelors in Port Charles right at my fingertips.
(Jax smirks.)
Jax: I’m eligible?
(Carly smiles, then looks directly at Patrick.)
Carly: Well, Patrick is.
(Patrick awkwardly leans in toward Carly and Jax.)
Patrick: Speaking of which… my date is waiting for me.
(Carly spins around to follow Patrick Drake as does Jasper Jacks. They watch as Patrick walks over toward a corner table and slowly sits down across from his father.)
Noah: Long day?
(Patrick nods tiredly.)
Patrick: You have no idea.
Noah: Well, I just heard something that might perk you up.
Patrick: I’m listening…
Noah: While I was waiting for you, Robin called – she’s returning home a few days early.
(Patrick leans in toward his father.)
Patrick: How early?
Noah: I got the impression that we might be seeing Dr. Scorpio sooner than we expect… like perhaps tomorrow. She asked me to send Drew’s current lab reports to her apartment for A.M. delivery.
(Patrick couldn’t hide it. He actually smiles. It was a simple gesture… one that didn’t go unnoticed by his father. Patrick Drake was actually happy.)
Noah (laughs): Is that a full-tooth grin I see there?
(Patrick ignores his father and reaches for the menu.)
Patrick: This dinner is your treat I’m assuming?
Noah: What? You can’t afford a meal at the Metro Court?
(Patrick looks back at his father.)
Patrick: It was your suggestion to meet up for dinner, you should pay for it.
(Noah rolls his eyes as he reaches for his own menu.)
Noah: Trust me, with your attitude… I’m definitely paying for it.

Chapter 15

- The Next Day
Setting: The Quartermaine Mansion
(It’s extremely early in the morning. Too early for anyone to be awake. And that is exactly what Lulu Spencer hopes to be true when she opens the door to the Quartermaine Mansion. After attempting to “pacify” her older brother the previous night and failing miserably, Lucky announced that he was ready to return to Port Charles. Robin and Nikolas both suggested staying another day in Greece to let cooler heads prevail, but Lucky being Lucky as well as being a Spencer wanted to go home and deal with his situation. Lulu offered to go with him, but Lucky wanted to go home on his own. He had checked in with General Hospital and found out that Liz was working the entire day of their return and decided that he would take that opportunity to move out of their apartment and into Wyndemere. Lulu couldn’t believe any of this was happening. She didn’t know what to believe. She knew that she wanted to believe Robin since she continued to defend Patrick until she fell asleep on the plane ride home. Truth be told, Lulu wanted to believe Robin for Robin’s sake as well… because if she was wrong, it seemed as if she would get her own heart broken. She couldn’t think about this anymore today. All Lulu could think about was her bed and finally getting a few hours sleep. She knew when she woke up, she would have to deal with everything and she would do so then. And the first thing on her list was finding out who the hell put the idea of getting a private investigator on Liz in her brother’s head? That was SO not a real Spencer thing to do – and Lulu would make whoever it was pay for hurting her brother in that way.)

Setting: Robin’s Apartment
(Robin Scorpio tiredly walks toward her apartment door. She felt like she aged ten years in a span of ten hours. When she approaches her front door, Robin bends down to receive the package that Noah left for her which included Drew’s latest lab results. She had her entire day planned in front of her. Robin was going to go into her apartment, draw a nice hot bath, brew a soothing pot of tea, change into her comfiest of pajamas, settle onto her couch with her lab reports and then… turn off her phone and avoid Patrick Drake like the plague. Robin knew that she had to end things with Patrick, but she didn’t know how to and instead of facing that head on, she was hoping she could sort of simply avoid it. She had her plan and she would stick to it. Robin slowly opens the door to her apartment and smiles slightly at her home. This was her home now. Robin actually loved being back in Port Charles. There was a safety and comfort she felt here that she never did in another country. Robin's eyes fall onto her answering machine and she debates for a moment if she should listen to her messages. Going against her better judgment, Robin quickly presses ‘play’ then waits for the voices to fill her room.)

Message #1: Robin, it’s your father. I just wanted to personally thank you for that very disturbing picture of you and the Cassidine prince. You can tell your little friend, Lulu, that her father enjoyed it as well. (She laughs) Oh, and please tell me again, why you never made normal friends? And before you protest, need I go down your list starting with a boy named Rowdy? A name for the life of me I never understood what parent would give their child. I, on the other hand, always had honorable friends – Sean Donnelly, Frisco Jones…
(Robin rolls her eyes as her father begins to ramble then smiles as his message ends and the next one begins.)
Message #2: Robin, it’s your mother. Just called to say that I love you and that my current assignment should be ending soon. Can’t wait to meet your Patrick.
(Robin groans slightly.)
Robin (mimicking her mother): Your Patrick. (Sighs) Mom, if you only knew.
Message #3: Robin, it’s Noah. I left all of Drew’s workups on your doorstep personally. He’s doing amazing, Robin. You should be very proud. Call me when you want to go over his progress. We missed you.
(We missed you. Robin shakes her head. She wouldn’t read into that. She simply smiles and then starts to head toward the kitchen thinking her messages were drawing to an end.)
Message #4: You can’t hide from me, Dr. Scorpio.
(All breathing stops. Robin turns toward her machine and stares at it.)
Message #4: Rumors are that you are heading home early. Call me when you get in… maybe we can hang out. (Laughs) Emphasis on hang.
(Robin covers her face as Patrick’s message ends. She uncovers her face slowly and stares at the inanimate object that was now taunting her. She was not ready to face Patrick. She was not ready to tell him that she couldn’t “see” him anymore. And she didn’t know how to explain to him why she couldn’t see him anymore. It wasn’t that her feelings for him had changed; they were the same feelings she’s always had. It was more of a realization of feelings. Perhaps it was a form of protection. She was protecting herself… and she was protecting Patrick. She didn’t want to be the one to change their “rules,” but at the same time she could no longer live by rules that would eventually hurt her. Robin slowly walks toward her kitchen and decides to make herself a quick snack. Before she can get far, her cell phone begins to ring. Robin turns her head curiously and sighs inwardly when she sees that it’s Nikolas. She reaches into her purse and answers her phone.)
Robin: Hey Nikolas.
Nikolas: Can you just tell me again that I’m doing the right thing by letting my brother move in with me?
(Robin sighs as she reaches for a jar of peanut butter and sits down at her kitchen table.)
Robin: He’s your brother. You love him.
Nikolas: And he’s leaving his wife and child! I’m enabling him to do so.
(Robin opens up her jar of peanut butter and quickly digs in with her spoon.)
Robin: No, you’re offering him a place to feel comfortable until he gets his thoughts together. (pauses) However, you can’t let Lucky use Wyndemere as an escape. He has to face Elizabeth. He has to fix whatever is wrong between them.
(Robin sighs. She just felt like a hypocrite. Here she is planning to avoid Patrick Drake for as long as she could with a container of peanut butter. Who was she to talk about hiding out?)
Robin: Do you know if he’s going to tell Elizabeth about the photos?
Nikolas: I don’t know. (sighs) Robin, I am so in the dark about all of this. I’ve been so wrapped up in making a home for John that I didn’t even know my brother hired a private eye.
Robin: You’re there for him now and that’s what matters.
Nikolas (sighs): I hope. (pauses) Hey… I can still count on you to be at Sam’s party, right?
(Robin sighs again.)
Robin: Of course. I’d do anything for you and Alexis.
Nikolas: Thank you, Robin. (Pauses) Oh, and Robin… if you believe in Patrick as much as I think you do, don’t be so quick to assume he would be appalled at the idea of a relationship with you.

Setting: General Hospital Locker Room
(Emily Quartermaine walks into the locker room and stops short at the sight of Elizabeth Spencer simply staring at her wedding picture. She smiles softly then walks toward her best friend.)

Emily (softly): Hey…
(Elizabeth’s head shoots up as she looks back at Emily.)
Liz: Hi.
Emily: You’re missing Lucky?
Liz: He’ll be home tomorrow.
(The two women look up when the door to the locker room opens revealing Patrick Drake.)
Patrick: Hello ladies.
(Liz rolls her eyes.)
Liz: Hi Patrick.
(Patrick smiles as he looks back toward Emily.)
Patrick: Did Elizabeth tell you about our dream date?
(Emily laughs as she opens her locker.)
Emily: Oh, your "so" romantic dinner that was setup for you by Mrs. Donahue?
Patrick: If someone would’ve told me that helping a lady with her migraines would’ve gotten me a free dinner, I would’ve taken on more headache cases.
Emily: It’s nice to feel appreciated.
Liz: It’s just a shame Lucky was in Greece. It would’ve been nice to take him.
(Emily smiles then looks back at Patrick.)
Emily: And who would you’ve taken, Dr. Drake?
(Patrick looks up from his locker and shakes his head.)
Patrick: I’m sure I would’ve found a date.
Emily (laughs): I’m sure.
Patrick: By any chance, have you ladies seen Dr. Scorpio?
Liz: I thought she was still in Greece.
Patrick: Well, according to my dad… she was arriving home today.
Liz (awkwardly): Oh… maybe she was coming home alone.
(Liz looks up when suddenly the door opens once again and Maxie Jones appears.)
Maxie: Wow! Full house.
Liz: Maybe you could help answer something for me, Maxie. Is Robin back from Greece?
Maxie (smiles): Yep, I just saw her. I had to drop off some notes for her.
(Patrick spins around and looks at Maxie.)
Patrick: She’s home? Now?
Maxie: She’s been home all morning.
(As nonchalant as possible, Patrick reaches into his locker and checks his cell phone. There weren’t any messages.)
Liz: Do you know if Lucky came back with her?
Maxie (shrugs her shoulders): I think they all did. I know Nikolas was on the phone with her when I got there.
Patrick: Didn’t she just spend several days with him? Why the need to catch up?
(Maxie smiles as she spins toward Patrick.)
Maxie: Jealous, Dr. Drake?
(Patrick points toward Maxie.)
Patrick: I don’t get jealous.
Maxie: Right.
(Maxie walks toward Robin’s locker.)
Maxie: Anyway, I’m actually here because I forgot one of Robin’s files.
(Just as Maxie opens up her locker, Patrick appears next to her.)
Patrick: I’ll bring it to her.
(Maxie smiles as she turns toward Patrick.)
Maxie: Oh, you will?
Patrick: It’s on my way.
Maxie: On your way where?
Patrick: To the Metro Court.
Maxie: Actually, it’s not. Robin’s apartment is on the eastern end of Port Charles and the Metro Court is on the western end.
(Emily and Liz both look down laughing as Patrick impatiently extends his hand waiting for the folder.)
Patrick: I’m running an errand before I go back to the Metro Court.
Maxie: Oh, and what errand would that be?
(An annoyed Patrick snatches the folder out of Maxie’s hands.)
Patrick: Personally handing out applications for new volunteers
(Maxie’s mouth falls as Emily and Liz finally couldn’t hold back any longer and fill the entire locker room with the sounds of their laughter. The three women watch Patrick storm out of the locker room with Robin’s folder under his arm, and look at each other simultaneously)
Maxie, Emily & Liz (in unison): Jealous.

Setting: Robin’s Apartment
(It’s later in the day. Robin walks out from her bathroom wearing just her robe. She looks up when she hears a slight knocking on her door. It was probably Maxie with her notes. Without even thinking, Robin flies to her door and opens it. She steps back when she sees Patrick Drake staring back at her and all thoughts of ending things with him suddenly flew completely away.)

Robin (softly): Patrick.
(Without any words, Patrick leaps toward Robin, picks her up in his arms and kisses her hard on her mouth. She gasps loudly as he closes the door hard behind him with his leg and begins to move them further into her apartment without one single word. She missed him so much. She missed the way he tasted; the way he held her; the way he felt against her… she missed the passion between them. Robin can feel Patrick moving them toward her bedroom and all she can think about is how it feels to be with him, to be held by him and kissed by him. She wanted to be with him. Robin can feel Patrick slowly lowering her onto her bed and his hands quickly find the belt of her robe and undoes it. He had the most talented hands… they simply amazed her. She closes her eyes in pure bliss as Patrick leans in and kisses her skin… her collarbones, her neck, her chin, her lips. He missed the taste of her so much. Patrick can feel his body easily conform to hers while getting completely lost in her kisses, her sighs, her gasps. And just as Robin’s hands touch his belt buckle, he can feel her freeze. And without words, without any sign of coming to a complete halt, she maneuvers herself from underneath him and leaps off the bed while retying her robe. Patrick sits up slowly and watches her.)
Patrick: Is something wrong?
Robin: We can’t do this here.
Patrick (confused): What? Where?
(Robin points toward her bed.)
Robin: You can’t be in here. (Softly) We can’t be in here.
(Patrick’s eyes suddenly darken as he looks back at Robin and a realization washes over him.)
Patrick: We’ve never…
(Patrick glares back at Robin.)
Patrick: We’ve never had sex in your bed.
(Robin takes a deep breath and looks away from him.)
Patrick (offended): Why is that, Robin?
(Robin just shakes her head as she hugs herself tightly.)
Robin (softly): We just can’t.
(A hurt Patrick flies up from her bed and storms past her.)
Patrick: What? I’m only good enough for your couch, Robin?
(Robin closes her eyes then follows him back out to her living room.)
Robin: I didn’t say that.
Patrick: No, you just inferred that.
(Robin turns back around and looks at Patrick.)
Robin: Please don’t make this into something it’s not.
Patrick: Then, tell me – what exactly is this, Robin?
Robin: That’s just… that’s my bed.
Patrick (snaps): I’m not dumb! I know what a bed looks like!
(Robin softly sighs as she covers her face. She simply didn’t know how to do this.)
Patrick: It’s only a bed, Robin.
(Robin looks back at Patrick.)
Robin: Maybe to you, a bed is just a bed… but to me, Patrick, that is MY bed. (Points toward her room) That’s the most intimate part of my life.
(Patrick looks down and just nods.)
Patrick: And we’re not intimate?
(Robin closes her eyes. There was nothing she could say at this point. She knew that. Patrick was hurt and quickly shutting down in front of her. And she knew what would come next; he would say something to hurt her back.)
Robin (softly): I didn’t say that. (Looks at him) Patrick, can we please not do this?
(Patrick looks back at Robin.)
Patrick: Do what? (Annoyed) Why is it that you can have sex with me on every other flat surface imaginable, but when I dare to suggest we actually use your bed, you freak out?
(Robin looks away and shakes her head. This wasn’t how she thought her night was going to end up.)
Patrick (hurt): You know what the most ironic thing is about all of this? I thought… I honestly thought after what happened between us at the cabin and we made up our “no-strings” rules, you were the one that was going to end up feeling cheap… (Laughs) I never thought it’d be me.
(Patrick grabs his jacket from the back of Robin’s couch.)
Patrick: You are definitely full of surprises, Dr. Scorpio. (Angrily) Welcome home.
(And with that, Patrick swings open the door to Robin’s apartment and leaves, slamming it behind him. Once he’s gone, Robin releases a soft breath then moves toward her couch. She quietly sits down on it and covers her face with her hands. Things were over with Patrick. Just like that. Over. Done. It wasn’t the way Robin thought it would end. She imagined herself giving him some lengthy speech about how they could still be friends and colleagues… she even thought she would thank him for their time together. Robin didn’t think it would end like this. She looks around her apartment and sighs. She was alone. Finally letting out a soft sob, Robin leans back on her couch and covers her face. She sits like this for several moments just letting the reality of her situation wash over her until a sound of knocking fills up her entire apartment. Robin’s eyes widen as she sits up straighter then leaps off the couch.)
Robin: Patrick!
(Robin runs to her door and opens it. Her widened eyes fall. It wasn’t Patrick. And reality officially sunk in. There really weren’t any strings in their relationship. And if there ever were, the strings were just cut. Robin leaps into the arms of the man in front of her and he easily envelops her.)
Robert: Robin, what happened?
