Chapter 1

Premise: It’s been a long, hot summer in the small upstate city of Port Charles. Robin Scorpio could barely remember a summer in Port Charles being hotter than this one… and she’s lived through many summers in Port Charles. This summer didn’t start off the way Robin had hoped it would. Her “relationship” with Patrick Drake fell to the wayside and with it, so did their friendship; her mother decided to pay her visit and while Robin loved having her mother in Port Charles, it quickly became evident that she wasn’t entirely in Port Charles out of her complete devotion to Robin… devotion to her job also played a major role; and of course, Robin’s father made their relationship even more difficult than ever. And simply put, Robin was exhausted. She was done and as the days of the summer progressed, Robin decided that she was going to try to salvage whatever was left of her summer. And, quite frankly… have some fun.

Setting: Jake’s Bar
(It’s a beautiful July night. Robin Scorpio opens the door to Jake’s Bar and smiles at the sight of her four friends waiting for her. Her eyes first fall on Emily Quartermaine. She had just returned to town after her brother sent her away until Sonny was considered “okay.” Robin sighed inwardly. Emily would soon find out the hard way that Sonny would never be “okay.” She almost felt bad about the heartache that was sure to find her friend. Robin’s eyes then fall on Elizabeth Spencer – another friend that heartache was taunting. Ever since her husband lost his partner and then failed to save her life, they just couldn’t get things right. One day Lucky was convinced Liz was cheating on him with Patrick Drake and then the next, she was convinced that he was popping pain pills as if they were coming out from a Pez dispenser. They needed some serious counseling. Robin sighs, “if only they could afford it.” Her eyes then fall on the beautiful and talented Lainey Winters. She fell for the wrong guy… well, the right guy with the wrong job. Justus Ward was a brilliant man. He was smart; he was honorable; he was a man of integrity… until he started working for Jason Morgan. Robin sighs. Everything always came back to Jason Morgan. In so many ways, Robin could blame him for how she is today. But, she didn’t and she wouldn’t. This time heartache found her all on its own. She was the one that signed up for a “no-strings” affair with Patrick Drake. She was the one who convinced herself that she could just be casual without any feelings involved. She was the one that brought herself to this place… literally and figuratively. Robin Scorpio smiles as Kelly Lee waves toward her enthusiastically. Now, maybe she was on to something – the one person she knew who was happy. And she was no where near in love with anyone. Robin smiles. Her first drink… would definitely be in honor of Dr. Kelly Lee.)

Robin: Hello ladies!
(Robin pulls out a chair between Kelly and Emily.)
Kelly: You’re late!
Robin: I know… I’m sorry. I met my mom for a quick bite at Kelly’s.
(Emily turns her head and looks at Robin as Kelly already starts filling up her shot glass.)
Emily: How is that going?
Robin (sighs): It’s going.
Liz: Do you know how long she’ll be here for?
Robin: She says for as long as I need her… I say until her next job calls.
Kelly: At least now we know where your work ethic comes from.
(Robin looks back at Kelly as she reaches for the shot glass in front of her.)
Robin: You think I’m that dedicated to my job? So dedicated I’d leave my loved ones behind for years?
Emily: Uh… Robin, you’ve already done that.
(Robin makes a face then spins around toward Emily. She was right. Okay, she lied. First drink tonight would be in honor of, medical student in training, Emily Quartermaine. Robin takes a quick swig of tequilas then leans back into her chair.)
Lainey: Okay, so who wants to hear about my rancid day?
Kelly (sighs): It can’t be as bad as mine.
Lainey: I doubt it. (Leans in) My apartment has termites.
Liz (shrieks): Termites?
Lainey: My dining room table… it’s practically on its last leg.
Emily: Oh!
Kelly: I have one better for you… my apartment got broken into. (Sighs) The second time since I moved in there.
Emily: Do you want a bodyguard?
(The girls all spin their heads toward Emily and she laughs slightly.)
Emily: What?!? I have a few to spare.
Robin: Well, I don’t think Sonny would approve of you sharing your guards so freely.
(Emily rolls her eyes as she reaches for the bottle of tequila.)
Kelly: Well, as much as the idea of having a big burly man stand outside my bedroom door appeals to me on so many levels… I think I have to settle for a more realistic option – a new place to live.
Lainey: I’m with you there. I cannot live with termites.
Kelly: Want to go apartment hunting with me?
(Robin thinks for a moment then leans in toward the two women.)
Robin: That may not be necessary. The other day, my landlord was telling me that he was knocking out the entire top floor of my building. He’s creating one huge condo with three bedrooms, two bathrooms with an extremely large kitchen and access to the roof.
Kelly: Sounds amazing.
Lainey: And expensive. (Sighs) I don’t know about you, Kelly, but I have med school loans that I’m still paying off.
Kelly: And this Jake’s habit we have going on is not helping any, I’m sure.
(Kelly turns toward Robin smiling fully then leans toward her.)
Kelly: Unless…
Robin (curiously): Unless…
Kelly: Dr. Scorpio, you’re single again, correct?
Robin: I was always single, remember?
Kelly: Semantics… whatever. There is NO ONE sharing your living space right now, correct?
Robin: You two aren’t moving into my one-bedroom apartment.
Kelly: Of course not! (Smiles) We’re moving into the amazing condo in your building with access to the roof.
(Lainey smiles widely as she leans in toward Robin and claps.)
Lainey: That’s brilliant!
Robin: Brilliant? How do you figure that?
Kelly: Think about it! Roof top parties, late night chats…
Lainey: Three bedrooms… two bathrooms… it’s made for us.
Robin: Need I remind you that I already have a termite-free, security-filled home?
Kelly: But, you don’t have us.
Lainey: Yeah, Robin… we could be amazing roommates.
(Robin looks between Kelly and Lainey.)
Robin (to Kelly): You’re nosey.
(Kelly’s mouth falls.)
Robin (to Lainey): And you’re a slob.
(It was Lainey’s turn – her mouth falls.)
Lainey (lightly): And to think, I called you one of my girls.
Kelly (smirks): No wonder you’re single.
(Robin laughs loudly as she throws a lime at Kelly.)
Robin: Look, I’ll talk to my landlord tomorrow. Okay? We could all look at this amazing apartment together and see how amazing it really is.
Lainey: YAY!
Kelly: And for that, Dr. Scorpio… I’ll pay for your drinks tonight.
Robin: Good. I think I’ll need them. (Looks around) Where’s Coleman? (Calls out) COLEMAN!

- Several Days Later
Setting: General Hospital
(Robin Scorpio walks toward the locker room and sighs tiredly as she opens the door. It had been a long week. Her week started with a supposedly simple girl’s night out with Lainey, Kelly, Elizabeth and Emily. Robin had begun to love their girl’s nights out. She knew they were somewhat cheesy, but at the same time… they made her feel less alone. Those four women had the unique ability to make her laugh at herself as well as at the ironies of life. And truth be told, these five women needed each other. They had been there for each other when Lainey’s boyfriend was brutally murdered; they were there when Emily’s boyfriend began down a path of mental instability; they were there when Elizabeth’s husband became addicted to pain pills; and most importantly, to Robin, they were there when her “arrangement” with Patrick Drake ended. Lainey was right – they were each other’s “girls.” And Robin grew to appreciate them… and that was probably why she couldn’t turn Lainey or Kelly down when they suggested moving in together. The timing of it all was quite ironic, actually – Lainey’s apartment was terrorized by termites at the same exact time Kelly’s apartment got broken into for the second time. So, that very night, a little drunken on tequila no doubt, Robin offered Lainey and Kelly a place to crash until their new place was ready. However, it took Robin all of two nights to realize that this arrangement would simply not work. Three women could not live together, albeit for a week, under one small roof. Kelly enjoyed long, luxurious bubble baths… which was nice, but she enjoyed these luxurious private moments with herself every single morning holding up the bathroom for extended periods of time. Lainey enjoyed cooking a huge breakfast every morning for her roommates… which was indeed tasty, but she didn’t quite enjoy the aspect of cleaning up the kitchen afterward. Robin thought she would completely lose it on her two newfound roommates, especially when she woke up two days ago with Kelly and Lainey bouncing happily on her bed shoving their new lease in her face just waiting for her signature. It seemed that Robin’s landlord had dropped off their lease for them to sign and they could move into their new place as soon as they were ready. Robin’s first instinct was “no way in hell”… but then she remembered her vow. Robin promised to have more fun. And as messy as Lainey was and as selfish as Kelly could be, they both brought an aspect of fun into her life. And even Robin had to admit, she missed having roommates. She had only lived with two other women during her adult life… well, actually three, but one didn’t count. So, maybe they caught her at a weak moment, or at the very least a tired one, but Robin found herself signing a lease to their new “amazing” apartment with roof-access. However, this morning walking into General Hospital, Robin was paying the price for this decision. Her entire body ached. The three women stayed up the entire night painting their new apartment. Robin felt pains in muscles she didn’t even know existed as she reaches toward her locker. Her arms were literally throbbing. She groans inwardly as she slowly begins to unbutton her blouse to change into her scrubs. Robin knew that she should’ve taken a few days off. Kelly and Lainey were smart – they had taken off the entire week to move their stuff out of their respective places, but Robin was convinced that it would be unnecessary for her to do the same since her stuff was just in the floor underneath her new home. She was wrong. Robin looks up when she hears the door of the locker room opening and smiles slightly at the sight of Emily Quartermaine.)

Robin: Hey Em.
Emily (smiles): I have some good news for you!
(Robin grimaces slightly as she throws the top of her scrubs over her body.)
Robin: I could use some… so, lay it on me.
Emily: I am volunteering for painting duty tonight.
(Robin smiles widely as she turns toward Emily.)
Robin: Emily, I would hug you right now if I could actually move my arms.
(Emily laughs as she looks back at Robin. Unbeknownst to the two ladies, the door to the locker room opens again revealing Patrick Drake.)
Emily (laughs): So, that explains the slight limp you have today, huh?
(Robin laughs loudly. Well, that caught his attention. Patrick Drake stops short in his tracks as Robin turns slowly toward Emily.)
Robin: Emily, I used muscles last night I didn’t even know I had.
Emily (laughs): Maybe you’re out of practice.
(Robin laughs as she throws her blouse toward Emily.)
Robin: Maybe I am a little rusty, but it’s not like I never did it before.
(Patrick Drake stands frozen in his tracks. He had absolutely no idea what Robin Scorpio had been doing the last few weeks, or more specifically, the last few nights. Ever since their “relationship” ended, they have barely said more than two words to one another.)
Emily: Well, tonight you should definitely take a breather.
Robin: It’s just addictive, you know? It’s like once you start, you can’t stop.
(Patrick continues to listen intensely.)
Robin: And I kept thinking, “I can do this all night.” (Laughs) And the next thing I know it’s like four in the morning, my legs are shaking from exhaustion, I’m all sweaty and clammy… but I am definitely paying for it today.
(Patrick shakes his head then angrily opens his locker. Robin and Emily glance at one another wondering who is on the other side of the lockers.)
Emily (laughs): Well, Kelly told me that your bedroom has been off limits for the last week. What in the world have you been doing in there, Robin?
(SLAM! Patrick Drake slams his locker shut then storms out of the locker room. Emily and Robin look at each other again.)
Emily: Who was that?
(Emily walks toward the locker room door and opens it. Her mouth falls slightly as she sees Patrick storming down the hall toward the Nurses’ Station. She walks back over to Robin laughing.)
Emily: You’ll never believe who it was. (Looks at her) It was Patrick.
(Robin looks back at Patrick curiously.)
Robin: Why is that so funny?
Emily (laughing): Robin! Did you hear our conversation? He has no idea that you’ve been painting for the last week.
Robin: Wait a minute… are you saying that you think Patrick thought I was referring to several nights of passionate, hot sex back there?
Emily (laughing): Come on! You’re complaining that your muscles hurt. You’re limping from “doing it” all night. You were sweaty. Robin! Kelly can’t go into your bedroom!
(Robin covers her mouth then starts laughing as well.)
Emily: That is friggin’ awesome, Robin!
(Robin covers her face somewhat embarrassed.)
Robin (laughing): Yeah… friggin’ awesome.
(Robin ties the string to the bottom of her scrubs.)
Robin: Come on... let’s get to work.
(Meanwhile, by the Nurses’ Station, Patrick Drake storms over to the desk and angrily reaches for his messages. Epiphany Johnson and Elizabeth Spencer glance at one another at Patrick’s obvious bad mood. It would be another one of those days.)
Liz: Good morning, Dr. Drake.
(Patrick looks up from one of his messages.)
Patrick (mutters): Yeah… whatever.
(Epiphany looks up from her notes and starts laughing.)
Epiphany: I guess, the days of gloriously beautiful mornings are over.
(Patrick slams down the papers he was reading and glares back toward Epiphany. Before he can say anything, Robin Scorpio and Emily Quartermaine walk toward the Nurses’ Station still giggling over their “conversation” in the locker room. They stop laughing abruptly once Patrick shoots them both a glare. Emily attempts to cover up their laughter by coughing loudly.)
Emily: Hey guys.
Liz: Good morning.
(Liz suddenly turns toward Robin. She studies her for a moment as Robin goes through her messages.)
Liz: Hey Robin… are you okay?
(Robin looks up suddenly.)
Robin: Yeah, I’m fine. Why?
Liz: It’s just that I noticed you limping when you walked over here with Emily.
(And with that, Emily bursts out laughing again as Robin covers her face embarrassed. Patrick takes a deep breath then picks up his files quite forcibly.)
Patrick (coldly): Dr. Scorpio, if you’re up for it… we have a consult in ten minutes.
(Robin simply sighs as Patrick storms past them. Liz looks back at Robin and leans toward her curiously.)
Liz: Did I miss something?
(Robin spins toward Emily and points toward her with the folder in her hands.)
Robin: Not a word, Em.
(Emily laughs loudly then looks at Robin.)
Emily: Hey… I’ll make you a deal. I won’t say a word, if you keep our little inside joke going.
Robin (laughing): What’s gotten into you, Emily?
Emily: Hey… my life is in shambles and my boyfriend is in the middle of a mental breakdown – give me something here, Robin.
Robin: Fine! I’ll be the brunt of your amusement. Hope you enjoy it, Emily!
(Emily laughs as she reaches for her folder.)
Emily: Oh, I will!

Chapter 2

Setting: The Eastern End of General Hospital
(Robin Scorpio and Patrick Drake are leaving one of their patient’s rooms. It had been yet another intense and extremely professional consult between the two doctors. Noah Drake had actually volunteered the two of them for this case. It was his case originally, but he was invited to speak at a medical conference in Manhattan and quickly reassigned it to Patrick and Robin. It was anything, but a smooth consult. Patrick seemed more grumpier than normal and Robin was yet to regain full use of her limbs from her attempts at painting the previous night (all of which Patrick noticed). Before they can fully leave the room, Patrick and Robin stop shortly at the sight of Kelly Lee flying toward them in jeans and a tank top. She was the smart one. She took off.)

Kelly: ROBIN! I’ve been looking all over for you!
Robin (concerned): What? Why? Is it one of my patients?
Kelly: No, it’s Roscoe.
(Robin’s brows furrow.)
Robin (confused): Roscoe?
Kelly: Remember the other night at Jake’s when Emily offered to give me a bodyguard?
Robin: Vaguely. Yes.
Kelly: Well, tequila-girl must’ve given me one because I can’t shake him!
(Robin looks back at Kelly.)
Robin: And what am I supposed to do?
Kelly: What any good girlfriend would do… distract him!
(Patrick glares back at Kelly as Robin looks back at her exasperated.)
Robin: Distract him? How?
Kelly: Well… he was kinda in your room and…
Robin: Wait! Roscoe, one of Sonny’s men, was in MY ROOM?!?!
Kelly: It wasn’t intentional. He thought it was my room.
Robin: Why was he in any of our rooms? Sonny’s guards usually guard from outside the apartment door.
(Kelly smirks slightly.)
Kelly: Well… he said last night he heard strange sounds coming from your bedroom and…
(Robin’s mouth falls slightly and then suddenly she sees Emily standing behind one of the walls laughing hysterically. Robin takes a deep breath… maybe Sonny wasn’t the only one losing it. "Supposedly sweet" Emily Quartermaine actually had Kelly come over to her and Patrick to stir the pot. Robin glances over at Patrick, who is clearly irritated, and then looks back at Kelly.)
Robin (in a hushed tone): What are you doing?
(Kelly leans in toward Robin.)
Kelly: Emily let me in on your joke. It’s hysterical.
(Robin takes a deep breath then turns her attention toward Patrick.)
Robin: Patrick, there…
(Before Robin can finish her sentence, Kelly leaps in front of her and gets Patrick’s attention.)
Kelly: What Dr. Scorpio is trying to say… is that she may need you to take over some of her cases.
(Patrick scoffs loudly.)
Patrick: And I will do that… because? Her extracurricular activities are becoming a little exhaustive for her to balance?
Robin (offended): Hey!
Kelly (laughs): No! That was a good one, Drake – quick on the insults… nice. (She shakes her head) Robin, Lainey and I just got an apartment together… and we need a few days to settle in, to make it a home. (Looks at Robin) And work-a-holic Scorpio refuses to take time off and I am here to ensure that she does.
(Patrick turns his attention back to Robin.)
Patrick: You’re moving?
(Robin clears her throat.)
Robin (awkwardly): We’ve been in the process for the last two or so weeks.
Patrick: I… I didn’t know.
(Robin looks down. He wouldn’t know. They’ve barely spoken. Kelly senses the awkwardness and steps forward.)
Kelly: So, Dr. Drake… would you be a gentleman and cover for Dr. Scorpio?
(Patrick looks back at Kelly as she smiles.)
Kelly: And then perhaps she won’t be walking around the hospital aching and limping from being up all night painting?
(Robin looks back at Kelly and smiles. She was a good friend… and roommate. Robin turns her attention back to Patrick and in one brief moment, she swears that she actually sees relief wash over his entire face. She wasn’t wrong.)
Patrick (smirks): You were painting?
Robin (simply): All night, every night… not too glamorous.
(Kelly leans over Robin’s shoulder smiling.)
Kelly: And she even has the dry paint marks all over her body to prove it. (Smirks) Show him, Robin.
(Robin throws a glare over her shoulder toward Kelly. She takes it back – she is NOT a good friend or roommate. Patrick arches an eyebrow toward Robin as she covers her face embarrassed.)
Robin: You know what? You two work out my schedule. I have patients to see.
(Robin starts to walk away from Kelly and Patrick.)
Kelly (calls out to her): And what about Roscoe?
Robin: I’m sure you can think of a few ways to distract him yourself. And if not, ask Lainey to.
Kelly (calls out to her): But, you’re more flexible. You’re the dancer!
(Robin spins around and looks back at Kelly.)
Robin (in a hushed tone): What does THAT have to do with it?
(Kelly smirks.)
Kelly: Come on, Robin… it hasn’t been that long. (Looks at Patrick) Right, Dr. Drake?
(Patrick coughs loudly as Robin glares back at Kelly.)
Robin: Oh my God! You are embarrassing!
(Kelly laughs as she shakes her head.)
Kelly: Never mind. I’ll deal with Roscoe on my own. I’ll just ask Emily to get Sonny to drop the guards.
Robin: Great!
(Robin spins around and starts down the hall again. Before she can get too far, Kelly calls back out to her.)
Kelly: Oh, and Robin…
Robin: Yes, Kelly?
Kelly (smiles): See you at home.
(Robin clenches her fists and continues down the hall. Once she’s gone, Kelly bursts out laughing then spins around and looks at Patrick.)
Kelly: So, can I count on you?
Patrick: For?
Kelly: Covering for Robin so she can actually enjoy moving into her new place?
Patrick: I wasn’t aware moving somewhere called for several days off.
Kelly: Well, it does… as it should. Come on! This could be a very good time for Robin. She’s getting the chance to start over in a new place, create some new memories with new friends. Let her have it.
(Patrick nods.)
Patrick: Fine. Just ask Epiphany to transfer whatever cases that need to be over to me.
Kelly (smiles): Thank you. (Thinks) Hey… if you’re nice, maybe I’ll invite you to our first roof-top party.
(Patrick smirks as he leans against the wall behind him.)
Patrick: Roof-top?
Kelly (excited): Oh my goodness, Patrick! We have the ENTIRE top floor of Robin’s current building AND we’re the only ones with access to the roof. It’s amazing. We’re going to have barbecues, parties… we can go sunbathing. It’s going to be amazing. Simply amazing.
(Patrick finally smiles and Kelly clearly detects a soft look wash over him.)
Patrick: So, Robin’s happy?
Kelly (softly): I think so.
(Patrick just nods.)
Patrick: Good.
(Kelly leans in toward Patrick slowly.)
Kelly: You know… you could be happy too, Patrick.
(Patrick looks back at her.)
Patrick: Who’s to say I’m not?
Kelly (simply): Me. You don’t look it, Patrick. Well, you didn’t until Robin actually spoke to you for a few moments ago back there. It’s not a crime to miss her. And it’s definitely not one to admit it.
Patrick: There’s nothing to admit.
Kelly: Right.
(Kelly notices Emily and Elizabeth trying to get her attention from the Nurses’ Station.)
Kelly: Look, I gotta go for a paint run. (Pauses) Think about what I said.
(Patrick just watches as Kelly Lee runs back over toward Emily and Elizabeth. He stands there for a moment then jumps suddenly when he hears Robin’s voice behind him.)
Robin: Hey.
(Patrick spins around and looks at her.)
Robin: Whatever Kelly just said to bribe you or make you feel guilty, don’t listen to her. You don’t have to take on any of my cases.
Patrick (awkwardly): No, no… I don’t mind.
Robin: You have a life too, Patrick. I mean, all we’re doing is moving. Kelly and Lainey are making it into this huge extravaganza.
Patrick: Moving is a big deal. Why do you think I never left the Metro Court?
Robin (smiles): I always thought it was for the great room service.
(Patrick watches Robin smile and in that moment, it hit him like a ton of bricks. That was the first time in weeks she had smiled in his direction. Patrick had to catch his breath for a moment. He did miss her. And he missed them.)
Patrick: That’s just an added bonus.
Robin (laughs): Right. (Pauses) But, seriously… you don’t have to do me any favors – my cases are my cases and I’ll handle them.
Patrick: No, no… I honestly don’t mind.
Robin: But why? What’s in it for you?
Patrick: Who says there has to be? (Pauses) Look… when my father was sick, you picked up a lot of slack for me – consider this a returned favor.
(Robin nods.)
Robin: Okay. Then, thank you.
(Robin turns to walk away. Patrick watches her and laughs slightly. He didn’t notice it before, but there was a distinct patch of lavender paint on the back of one of her ankles. And he wondered where else she was covered in paint. Patrick shakes his head. He had to get back to work. Robin sighs as she turns toward her research lab. She looks taken back to find Lainey waiting for her.)
Robin: Okay, what is the point of you and Kelly taking off, if you’re both walking around the hospital?
(Lainey sighs as she extends a cup of frozen yogurt to Robin.)
Lainey: Tell that to my patient who had a mental breakdown.
(Robin opens the door to her lab and Lainey follows her inside of it.)
Lainey: I finished my session and I thought I would see if you were around.
Robin: Want to talk about it?
(Lainey shakes her head as they sit down on the stools.)
Lainey: Not really.
(Robin looks down at the cup of frozen yogurt Lainey gave her.)
Robin: Chocolate?
Lainey (smiles): Is there any other flavor?
Robin (softly): Thank you.
(Lainey watches Robin swirl her spoon around the small cup of frozen yogurt.)
Lainey: So, was that Patrick Drake I saw you talking to before?
(Robin looks up at Lainey and sighs.)
Robin: Perhaps.
Lainey: I didn’t hear yelling.
Robin (laughs): No, there was no yelling.
Lainey: So… talk to me, Robin. What’s going on?
(Robin eats a spoonful of ice cream and shrugs her shoulders.)
Lainey: I know I said it before, but Robin, I really am sorry about what happened between you and Patrick.
(Robin finally looks back up at Lainey and forces another smile.)
Robin: I have no right to ever complain to you. You just lost someone you care about.
Lainey: And someone you cared about changed the rules on you, flirted with your enemy then proceeded to dump you.
(Robin sighs as she lowers her cup of frozen yogurt next to her.)
Robin: Is it considered dumping when you were never really a couple to begin with?
Lainey: Is it considered mourning a boyfriend when you never actually became a couple? (Simply) Feelings are feelings – there is no right or wrong way to process them.
(Robin looks down at her hands.)
Robin (softly): Patrick really hurt me.
(Lainey reaches toward Robin and gently takes her hand.)
Lainey: I know.
Robin: I really thought that if I did this whole casual thing with him, I was protecting myself somehow. (Shakes her head) The joke was on me, because I feel like someone just pounded my heart with a sledgehammer… and that was from a two minute conversation with the man.
(Lainey laughs slightly as she nods.)
Lainey: I know the feeling.
(Robin groans as she covers her face.)
Robin: I just hate it! I hate that I let him get to me like this. And he didn’t even do anything this time! He was just being nice!
Lainey: Robin, you liked him.
(Robin uncovers her face and looks back at Lainey.)
Robin: You know what it was? I’ll tell you what it was. After I came back from Markham Islands, I felt like I was invincible. I thought I was this new and improved, braver Robin Scorpio. But, there was nothing brave about having a no-strings affair with a commitment-phobe. That was the most cowardly thing I have ever done.
Lainey: You had every right to be scared, Robin. Patrick Drake is a player.
Robin: I wasn’t scared – I was weak. (Pauses) I really don’t know how I thought this would end up. (Pushes her ice cream cup away) Not like this… that’s for sure.
Lainey: You underestimated your own feelings. (Leans in toward her) And I don’t mean the ones you have for Patrick. I mean the ones you have for yourself. Robin, you deserved better than no-strings. If it was your idea or his, you still deserved better.
(Robin simply nods. Lainey was right.)
Robin: Thank you. (Smiles) So, tell me… how much painting did you do today?
Lainey (laughs): Hah, hah! After spilling an entire can in the middle of my room and then running around town to find paint remover, I painted one wall.
Robin: That’s something.
(Lainey pushes Robin’s ice cream cup back toward her.)
Lainey: Yeah, it is. (Looks at her) And you just having a civil conversation in the hall with Patrick back there… that was something too. (Smiles) Eat up!
(Robin laughs then reaches toward her cup of frozen yogurt.)
Robin: Perhaps. (Takes a spoonful) Tell me about our bikini parties again on the roof.

Chapter 3

- The Next Day
Setting: Robin, Lainey & Kelly’s Apartment
(Robin is sitting in the middle of their living room with several boxes surrounding her wearing a tank top and shorts. She looks at one box then raises her head curiously.)

Robin (calls out): KELLY!
(Kelly peaks her head out of their kitchen.)
Kelly: What?
Robin: Did you know Coleman sent us a housewarming gift?
(Kelly slowly walks out of the kitchen and toward Robin.)
Kelly: Really? Not bad for a sleaze. What is it?
(Robin opens up the card and bursts out laughing.)
Robin (reading): To the three sexiest docs I know. I hope I can come over soon and test this out.
Kelly: I am almost afraid to see what this is.
(Robin unwraps the large box then smiles.)
Robin: Aww… it’s a blender for frozen drinks. (Looks at Kelly) That’s sweet.
(Kelly sits down next to Robin.)
Kelly: Very. (Looks in the bag) Did he include any booze?
(Robin hits Kelly’s hand.)
Robin: We can afford our own alcohol.
Kelly: I’m just saying… who gives a blender without alcohol to try it out?
Robin: I’ve given many blenders in my lifetime at wedding showers or housewarming parties… and I’ve never included alcohol.
Kelly: Wow! (Stands up) Remind me not to invite you to my wedding shower. You blow at giving gifts.
(Robin laughs loudly as she reaches for another box. Kelly definitely kept her on her toes. She smiles when she sees the next box.)
Robin: Look! Something from Noah Drake.
Kelly: Let’s see how Senior Drake does.
(Robin glances up at Kelly.)
Robin: Do you think we should wait for Lainey to come home?
Kelly: You snooze, you lose. Rip it open! We both know it’s more for you, anyway.
Robin: The card clearly says, “To Robin, Lainey and Kelly.”
Kelly: But Lainey and I didn’t jeopardize our careers to save his life… and we definitely weren’t sleeping with his son.
(Robin looks up again.)
Robin: Shush!
(Robin slowly opens Noah’s gift then smiles.)
Robin: An ice cream maker!
Kelly (rolls her eyes): See! Definitely for you.
Robin (looks at her): How do you know that?
Kelly: I’m not the one who drops Fudge Mocha wrappers throughout the halls of GH like Hansel and Gretel.
Robin: Hansel and Gretel?
Kelly: And Lainey rarely eats ice cream… something about it being bad for your teeth. (Flatly) Health freak.
(Robin sighs and looks down at the ice cream maker.)
Robin: Either way, I love it and I’m going to thank him personally.
Kelly: That’s sweet.
(Kelly sighs as she plops down on the couch behind Robin.)
Kelly: I cannot believe we are finally unpacked.
Robin (sighs): I know.
Kelly: And I can’t believe that we are having our first party this weekend!
(Robin looks up at Kelly and smiles.)
Robin: Which reminds me… I have to head to Jake’s.
(Robin stands up as Kelly looks back at her curiously.)
Kelly: Looking for a date to bring?
Robin: Remember? We wanted to ask Coleman to bartend.
(Kelly stands up from the couch.)
Kelly: That’s right! Hold on! I’ll come with you.
Robin: Actually… you don’t have to. I’m meeting someone there.
(Kelly smiles widely.)
Kelly: Really?
Robin: It’s not what you think. I’m meeting an old friend – emphasis on ‘friend.’
Kelly: Well, tell your old friend – emphasis on ‘old’ that I said “hello.”
(Robin reaches for her car keys then smiles.)
Robin: Will do. (Smiles) Be nice to Lainey when she comes home.
Kelly: I am always nice!
Robin: How about nicer?
Kelly (smiles): That I can work on.
Robin: Thank you.
(Kelly smiles as she watches Robin open up the door to their apartment and leaves. She truly liked Robin. And she liked living with her. She pauses for a moment then reaches over toward the cordless phone next to her.)
Kelly: Hey Lainey. It’s Kelly. Have you told everyone at the hospital about our party this weekend?

Setting: Jake’s Bar
(It’s a hot night in Port Charles. Robin Scorpio walks into Jake’s Bar and looks around the bar looking for the person she was supposed to meet. He wasn’t there. But Coleman was. He’s waving at her enthusiastically from behind the bar. Robin shakes her head and walks over to the bar.)

Robin (smiles): Hello Coleman.
Coleman: Hey Gorgeous. (Smiles) Did you get my housewarming present?
Robin: Yes, I did. And I want to thank you for it personally.
(Coleman smiles as he leans in toward her.)
Coleman: Personally? I like the sound of that.
Robin (leans in): Thank you, Coleman.
(Coleman smiles as he leans in even closer toward Robin.)
Coleman: You’re very welcome, sweet thing.
(Robin blushes slightly and looks down in between them.)
Coleman: So, where are your other tequila buddies tonight? Or is it just you and me?
(Robin laughs as she looks back at Coleman.)
Robin: It’s me and someone else… sorry. But, I do have a proposition for you. (Smiles) How do you feel about bartending at a private party?
Coleman: Depends on how private and for how much.
Robin: The pay will be good and it will be for a party Kelly, Lainey and I are throwing at our new apartment.
Coleman: And you’re going to let me come?
Robin: You do have much desired skills, Coleman.
Coleman: Then, I’m there… with my skills.
(Robin smiles widely.)
Robin: Thank you, Coleman! (Pauses) I’ll call you with the details.
(Robin hops off her barstool then starts toward an empty table. Before she can make it, Coleman calls out to her.)
Coleman: Hey gorgeous…
(Robin turns around.)
Coleman: The pay doesn’t matter. Consider it a housewarming present.
(Robin smiles softly.)
Robin: Thank you, Coleman.
(Coleman winks toward Robin as she spins around then finally spots Lucky Spencer walk through the entrance of Jake’s Bar. Robin waves toward him then sits down at one of the empty tables with him.)
Lucky: I was surprised to get your call.
Robin: I feel like we haven’t spoken in a while.
Lucky: Things have been a little crazy.
Robin: I know.
(Robin looks up when Coleman places two beers at the table for them.)
Robin (to Coleman): Thank you.
(Robin turns her attention back to Lucky once Coleman leaves.)
Lucky: So, Liz tells me you just got a place with two other doctors?
Robin: Yes! Lainey and Kelly. You know them both, right?
Lucky: More or less.
Robin: Well, I hope you’ll get to know more of them. Liz told you about the party we’re throwing this weekend, right? (Looks at him) You’ll be there, right?
Lucky: You invited me. I’ll be there.
Robin: Good. (Looks down) You know, I worry about you, Lucky.
Lucky (laughs softly): Why?
Robin (looks at him): Because I’ve known you for a very long time… and I will always worry about you.
Lucky: And not because Maxie has been telling you things? Or my wife has been telling you things?
(Robin sighs as she runs her hands through her hair.)
Robin: Maxie is young, Lucky. And she’s been through a lot this year. I, more than anyone, know how much she’s been through. She is looking for something to make the pain go away. Your problems are a great distraction for her.
Lucky: Like Jason’s were for you after Stone died? You should know… I’m not Jason, Robin.
Robin: I do know that. Jason was single – you’re not.
(Lucky raises his beer bottle.)
Lucky: Touché.
(Robin looks away.)
Robin: And you’re nothing like Jason.
Lucky: I know… Jason’s a hero.
Robin (looks at him): No, what I meant was… when I met Jason, he didn’t have anyone else. You have a wife, a sister, a brother, friends… Lucky, you have a support system. You don’t need to lean on my college-aged cousin.
(Lucky nods while looking down at his beer.)
Lucky: So, all this concern is about Maxie?
Robin: And you.
(Lucky takes another quick swig of beer then looks at Robin.)
Lucky: I don’t need your concern, Robin. As you said, I have a wife, a brother and sister who could worry about me. (Looks at her) Just focus on your apartment.
Robin: And Maxie?
(Lucky stands up slowly and looks back at Robin.)
Lucky: Like you said, she’s college-aged.
(Robin takes a deep breath and sighs as Lucky throws a few dollar bills on the table then walks out of the bar. She looks up when Coleman sits down across from her.)
Coleman: That looks like it didn’t go the way you wanted it to.
(Robin sighs as she takes a swig of her beer.)
Robin: Does it ever?
(Coleman looks up just as Patrick Drake walks into the bar and gestures toward him.)
Coleman: Now, there’s that hot doctor, all you ladies were drooling over… maybe things could go the way you want with him.
(Robin points her beer toward Coleman and looks back at him.)
Robin: Have you been talking to Kelly?
(Coleman smiles as he stands up. He leans in toward Robin before walking away.)
Coleman: You know I only whisper sweet nothings to you, hot pants.
(Robin bursts out laughing as she leans back on her chair. It is in that moment she realizes that she never sat by herself in a bar before. And she wasn’t sure tonight was the night to start. Robin reaches for her purse then stops when she feels a shadow wash over her. She didn’t even have to look up to know who it was.)
Robin: Hi.
(Patrick sits down slowly across from Robin holding a beer.)
Patrick: Was he giving you a hard time?
(Robin laughs.)
Robin: Coleman? Please. He’s harmless.
Patrick: He’s a dog.
(Robin laughs again.)
Robin: Takes one to know one, huh?
(Patrick locks his jaw slightly and Robin can immediately sense that she perhaps said the wrong thing. When did Patrick get so sensitive?)
Patrick: What are you doing here by yourself?
(Robin sighs as she looks down at her bottle of beer. Patrick takes this opportunity to fully look at her. She looked beautiful. She was wearing a thin yellow tank top with denim shorts; her hair was pulled up in a loose pony tail. She looked like perfection.)
Robin (sighs): I wasn’t supposed to be.
(Patrick straightens up. She was on a date.)
Robin: I think I offended the person I was with and they left.
Patrick: Shocker, there.
(Robin shoots Patrick a glare as she looks back at him.)
Robin: You know what? I don’t get why the truth scares people.
Patrick: It’s not the truth, Robin, that scares people. (Points his bottle toward her) It’s your truth.
(Robin rolls her eyes. She’s about to say something when suddenly her cell phone rings stopping her.)
Robin: Excuse me for a moment.
(Robin looks down at her cell phone and sighs. She answers it.)
Robin: Kelly, what is it that you want me to pick up?
Kelly: How about your parents?
(Patrick watches as Robin’s scrunches up in confusion.)
Robin: My parents?
Kelly: They are in the middle of our living room fighting right now. And I would love to kick them out myself, but they are your parents… meaning, they are your headache. (Pauses) Besides… I think if I physically tried to remove them, your mother could kick my ass.
(Robin covers her face and sighs.)
Robin: I’m on my way.
Kelly: Please come quick. Your mother has already threatened your father with my grandmother’s vase from China more than once and I would like to have one heirloom for my potential children one day.
(Robin begins to gather her things as she stands up.)
Robin: You are so dramatic! I’m leaving Jake’s right now.
(Robin closes her cell phone then looks back at Patrick.)
Robin: I have to go. (Looks at Patrick) Domestic dispute.
(Robin grabs her purse and starts to walks out of Jake’s. She stops short when Lucky Spencer reappears with Nikolas Cassidine by his side. Patrick watches curiously as Lucky simply hugs Robin.)
Lucky: I’m sorry.
Robin (pulling away): You don’t have to apologize. I just worry about you, that’s all.
Lucky: I’m fine. (Pauses) And I’ll… I’ll try not to bring Maxie down with me in my mess, I promise.
Robin: Thank you, Lucky.
(Lucky simply nods then looks at his older brother.)
Lucky: I’ll get us a table.
Nikolas: I’ll be right there.
(Lucky walks further into the bar. Once they’re alone, Robin looks back Nikolas and smiles.)
Robin: Did you make him come back here?
Nikolas: I just happened to see my brother on the docks and he just happened to mention some of your concerns and how you attempted to voice them.
(Robin smiles widely then hugs Nikolas tightly as well.)
Robin: You are the best brothers I know. (Pulls away) Thank you, Nikolas.
(Nikolas just smiles then touches the side of Robin’s face.)
Nikolas: Thank you for caring.
(From across the room, Patrick takes another gulp of beer as he watches Robin touch Nikolas’s arm again.)
Robin: I wish I could catch up, but I have to play peacemaker between my parents.
Nikolas (smirks): You know, I thought I saw them fighting on the docks earlier.
Robin (lightly): Yes, they’re taking their show on the road. (Smiles) And it makes me quite proud to be their daughter.
(Nikolas laughs as Robin digs through her purse for her car keys.)
Robin: I can count on you to be at our housewarming party, right?
Nikolas: I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
(Nikolas leans in and kisses Robin’s cheek then suddenly notices Patrick Drake glaring back at him. He looks at Robin as he pulls away.)
Nikolas: I didn’t know you and Dr. Drake were back together.
(Robin glances at Patrick then back at Nikolas.)
Robin: Because we’re not.
Nikolas: I just assumed you were leaving his company.
Robin (sighs): No… he’s probably here to pick up some unsuspecting fool. We just happened to run into one another.
Nikolas: Oh… sorry, I think.
(Robin sighs as she finally finds her car keys.)
Robin: Nothing to be sorry for. You didn’t throw Carly in my face more than once, did you? (Looks back at him) Thank you for bringing Lucky back. (Smiles) Have a good night and I’ll see you soon.
Nikolas (calls out to her): Be careful.
(Robin waves dismissively toward Nikolas as she walks toward the exit of Jake’s.)
Robin: My parents are harmless. They don’t frighten me.
Nikolas: I was actually referring to getting home safely.
Robin (smiles): Oh. (Laughs) That too! Good night, Nikolas.
(Nikolas waves goodbye to Robin then sighs as he turns around and looks for his younger brother. He finds him sitting at the table next to Patrick then slowly walks over to him. Patrick looks up from his beer as Nikolas sits down across from his brother.)
Patrick: I think I finally understand why you were all over me hanging out with Carly.
(Nikolas looks up and turns slowly toward Patrick.)
Nikolas: This should be good.
Patrick: It is. (Takes a gulp) You want Robin for yourself.

Chapter 4

Setting: Robin, Lainey & Kelly’s Apartment
(It’s late in the evening. Robin Scorpio walks off the elevator of her building and slowly starts walking toward her apartment. She silently hoped that her parents got tired fighting and left her apartment on their own… and in one piece. Robin’s hopes were dashed, however, as the sound of a loud crash rings from inside her apartment. She curses underneath her breath hoping that wasn’t Kelly’s grandmother’s vase and quickly begins to run toward her front door. Robin stops short at the sight of broken glass at her feet as she opens the door to her apartment. She looks down at the broken glass then back at her parents.)

Robin (angrily): What is this?
(Anna opens her mouth to speak then freezes as an angered Robert spins around and looks at his daughter.)
Robert (infuriated): She threw a glass at me!
(Anna points toward the broken glass.)
Anna: And he ducked! (Looks at him) Stop being a cry-baby!
(Robin closes her eyes and groans then looks up slightly when she hears Kelly from her bedroom.)
Kelly: I’m afraid to come out of my bedroom!
(Robin glares back at her parents and shakes her head.)
Robin: What do you think you’re doing?
Robert: Your mother is angry at me.
Robin: Obviously! I see that.
Anna: And your father is a pompous ass!
Robin: So, you throw a glass at him?
Anna: Oh Robin! The man ducked!
(Robin closes her eyes and sighs frustrated.)
Robin (calls out): Kelly! It’s safe to come out! (Looks at her parents) We’re leaving!
Robert: We are?
Anna: Where are we going?
Robert: I came to speak to you.
Anna: And I came to stop him.
Robin (annoyed): And I am fed up! This is my home! Not a wrestling ring!
(Robin walks over to her door and angrily opens it.)
Robin: Come on!
Anna (offended): Are you kicking us out?
Robert: She’s our little girl. She wouldn’t kick us out.
Robin: Well, your little girl lives with two other little girls. (Flustered) And do you see their parents lurking around throwing things at each other?
Anna: Sweetie…
Robert: Obviously, your roommates don’t come from a family like ours.
Robin: And obviously you two are crazy. (Looks at her door) Now, are you coming with me?
Anna: You’re seriously kicking us out?
Robin (frustrated): You were THROWING breakable things around my apartment… an apartment I share with two other women. I should call Uncle Mac and have him arrest you both.
(Robert laughs.)
Robert: She gets her sense of humor from me.
Robin: And my anger… come on!
(Anna and Robert look at each and other sigh.)
Anna: Fine… we’ll leave.
Robin: Thank you.
(Robin holds her door open as Robert and Anna slowly walk out of it. Once they are both out, Robin peaks her head back inside her apartment again.)
Robin: Lainey, Kel… it’s safe to come out.
Kelly: Are you sure?
Robin: I’m taking the threat with me.
Anna: I resent that, Robin! I would never physically harm your friends.
Robin (tiredly): No, you’d only embarrass me in front of them.
(Robin sighs as she closes the door behind her and leans on it.)
Robin: Okay! Now, why are you here? And why were you fighting?
Robert: I caught your mother with Lorenzo Alcazar.
(Robin looks back at her mother.)
Robin: Caught how?
Anna: Don’t be your father’s daughter. You don’t have to jump to the worst conclusion.
Robin: Mom, I love you. You know how much I love you, but…
Anna (shocked): There’s a but?
Robin: You love dangerous men. You love bad boys.
Anna (appalled): That is not true!
Robin: Mom! Trust me, you do. Why do you think I’ve fallen for the guys I have?
(Anna points toward her.)
Anna: Because YOU have the penchant for bad boys!
Robin: Oh mom! Pot meet kettle, please!
(Anna’s mouth falls as she clutches her chest.)
Anna: Robin, your father caught us in an innocent embrace.
(Robin’s brows furrow as she looks back at her mother.)
Robin: An innocent embrace? Is there such a thing?
(Robert smiles widely as he slides next to his daughter and wraps his arm around her shoulders.)
Robert: I love this girl.
(Anna glares back at her daughter.)
Anna: You are SO his namesake right now!
Robin: Wait! Before you reach for an item to toss toward my head, hear me out. (Simply) Who you hug, innocently or not, is your business… and your business alone, Mom.
(Robert slowly removes his arm from Robin’s shoulders.)
Robin: However, Lorenzo Alcazar is a known criminal.
Robert: Just her type… look at both Lavery and Hayward.
Robin (ignores her father): You are a smart woman, Mom. I just want you to make smart choices.
Robert: Speaking of smart choices or lack thereof, you are aware, Anna, that Lorenzo Alcazar is about to have a child with another woman?
Anna (angrily): It was a hug, Robert! You are acting like we were mauling each other in public! You are overreacting!
Robert: Am I, Anna?
Anna: And there was no reason to involve our daughter into this.
Robert: I disagree. You hanging around Alcazar puts her at risk. She has a right to know.
(Anna turns and looks at Robin.)
Anna: Robin, you know that I would never put you intentionally at risk, don’t you?
(Robin runs her hands through her hair and sighs loudly.)
Robin: Look… mom, you swore up and down you were here for me and only me. I think it’s blatantly obvious that you’re not. (Looks at Robert) And Dad, you swore up and down that you stayed in Port Charles to bond with me, but let’s be honest… you’re enjoying your time with the Quartermaines and Luke Spencer quite a lot as well. (Sighs) So, what do you say? We all become semi-adults or, at the very least, a tad bit normal and put down the sharp objects and just try to make nice?
Anna: Make nice?
(Robin looks at her father.)
Robin: Dad, if you are so convinced mom is on a mission… let her do her thing. You sniffing around will be a distraction to her – and could end up putting her more at risk. (Looks at her mother) And mom… Lorenzo is not only a dangerous man, but an extremely smart one. He’s not dumb and neither are we.
(Robert smiles widely. He loved his daughter.)
Anna: Robin, I’m not suggesting that you or your father are dumb.
Robert: Just not as smart as you.
Anna (offended): Robert!
Robin: Please! Stop fighting! I can’t be your mediator – it’s exhausting!
Anna: Fine. We’ll stop. (Looks at Robert) We’ll stop.
Robert: It’s over.
Robin (softly): Thank you. (Looks at Robert) Dad, you came here to warn me about Lorenzo. Thank you – your warning was heard. (Looks at Anna) Mom, you came here to stop him. (Sighs) You can’t do that. You’re the one that told me to let him in. You can’t pick and choose when he gets to worry about me.
(Anna nods.)
Anna: That’s fair.
Robin: I thought so.
(Anna looks at Robert then back at her daughter.)
Anna: I apologize for fighting with your father in your new home.
Robin: Apology accepted.
Robert (smiles): It’s a nice home, Luv. (Smiles wider) Nice and roomy.
Robin (laughs): Oh! Do not even think about it. You are staying at the mansion.
Robert: What happened to all that talk about letting me in?
Robin: My heart – not my home. (Looks toward her door) Speaking of which, I have to check on my home and make sure it’s still in one piece… and that you didn’t scare away my roommates. Can I trust you two to behave?
Robert: Trust is a beautiful thing, Robin.
(Robin laughs again as she shakes her head. She turns around and reopens the door to her apartment.)
Robin: No, being an adult is a beautiful thing.
Anna: And why is that?
Robin: Because I can do this guilt-free.
(Robin stands in her doorway and waves toward her parents.)
Robin: Good night!
(And with, Robin slams the door and laughs loudly. Anna and Robert turn toward each other simultaneously.)
Robert & Anna (simultaneously): That is your daughter.
(Once inside the apartment, Robin looks directly at Lainey and Kelly.)
Robin: First house rule. (Simply) Never, and I repeat, never let my parents inside if I am not here. They need to be supervised and you, my two dear friends, are not yet trained to deal with… that.
Kelly (sighs): So, I found out.
Lainey: Just tell me one thing… is that what you’re going to become in twenty or so years? Because I need a time-table so I will know when to pack up.
(Robin’s mouth falls as throws a pillow from their couch at Lainey laughing loudly.)

Setting: Jake’s Bar
(Nikolas Cassidine laughs slightly as he turns fully toward Patrick Drake.)

Nikolas: Care to repeat that?
Patrick: You want Robin for yourself. (Takes another gulp) It’s quite obvious.
(Nikolas shakes his head and laughs again.)
Nikolas: You are a piece of work. You know that? It was only a few weeks ago that you had a breakdown because I mentioned the word ‘relationship’ and now you have the audacity to ask me if I want Robin for myself? (Pauses) So, what if I do?
Patrick: So, you do?
Nikolas: Why wouldn’t I? Robin is one of the most beautiful women I ever met. She is brilliant. She is funny, adventurous…
Patrick: Why don’t you write her personal ad?
Nikolas (snaps): And why don’t you stop being so damn passive aggressive and weak?
(Lucky returns to his table with Nikolas holding two beers just in time to hear that and laughs slightly as he sits down across from his brother.)
Nikolas: If you think you are man enough to approach me and ask me what my intentions are toward Robin, be man enough to tell her what your own intentions are toward her.
(Patrick clears his throat as he lowers his beer back onto the table in front of him.)
Nikolas: Robin deserves so much better than you.
(Patrick stands up and throws several bills onto his table.)
Patrick: Like you are any better? From my understanding, didn’t you recently break up a marriage?
(Nikolas nods quietly.)
Nikolas: It’s funny how you can sit here and judge my actions… yet be friends with a kidnapper. (Picks up his beer) Don’t think I forgot how you blatantly disrespected Robin with Carly.
(Patrick walks over to Nikolas and Lucky’s table.)
Patrick: Again, Robin and I weren’t in a relationship. And even if we were, you have no idea what I did or didn’t do with Carly.
Nikolas: I could give a damn about what you did or didn’t do with her. What I didn’t like was you disrespecting Robin in front of Carly to me. (Looks at him) Robin is my friend. You knew that what you said to me about her would not sit well with me. And you knew that Carly would get off on it. (Simply) Next time you want to prove a point about your relationship with Robin or lack thereof, don’t use me or Carly to do it.
(Patrick starts to move closer toward Nikolas. Lucky, seeing this, stands up between the two men.)
Lucky: Look, you both need to chill. Robin and Patrick are not together. My wife tells me that the wonderful Dr. Drake, here, wanted to end things with her and she is moving on. (Looks at Nikolas) Robin is a survivor. She’s survived much bigger losses than him. She’ll be fine. (Looks at Patrick) And you getting in my brother’s face about his feelings toward Robin is a joke. A complete joke. You walk around this town flirting with anything that moves, including my own wife, and you have the nerve to question Robin’s friendships?
Patrick (snaps): Like you are one to talk! (Looks at him) At least I admit that I can’t give Robin what she needs. You have everyone around this town thinking you are some kind of hero… and you are no better than me.
(And with that, Nikolas stands up.)
Nikolas: My brother is twice the man you could even wish to be.
Patrick (points toward Lucky): Drug addict!
Lucky (points toward Patrick): Sex addict!
(Coleman walks over to the three men laughing and pats them on their shoulders.)
Coleman: Whoa! Settle down there, boys!
Nikolas (points toward Patrick): He started it!
Patrick (looks at Nikolas): What? Are we in kindergarten?
Nikolas: You wanted a fight the minute you asked me about Robin.
Patrick: I didn’t know I was using fighting words.
(Coleman shakes his head.)
Coleman: You men were fighting over hot little Dr. Scorpio?
(Patrick and Nikolas both spin their heads in the direction of Coleman.)
Lucky: Hot..
Nikolas: Little..
Patrick: Dr. Scorpio?
(Coleman laughs as he holds up his hands.)
Coleman: What? You think you two are the only men with eyes. Dr. Scorpio is hot.
(Nikolas and Patrick stare back at Coleman speechless until another voice interrupts their conversation.)
Robert: Now, I know you cannot be referring to MY little girl as “hot.”

Chapter 5

Setting: Jake’s Bar
(It’s late in the evening. Robert Scorpio is staring back at Coleman, Lucky Spencer, Nikolas Cassidine and Patrick Drake. An awkward silence washes over the four men that were discussing “the hot little doctor” known as Robin Scorpio once her father showed up looking none too pleased. Truth be told, Robert just had a long night himself. It all started on the docks. He was coming back from the Haunted Star when he caught his ex-wife hugging Lorenzo Alcazar. Robert wouldn’t admit it, but yes, he was jealous… but even more than that, he was enraged. Anna was putting herself in danger aligning with Lorenzo Alcazar, assignment or not, and he decided it was to time to warn his little girl of the possible impending danger. Unfortunately, Anna caught Robert running off from the corner of her eye and knew exactly where he was heading. He was becoming predictable in his old age. They both had proceeded to go to their daughter’s house and argue rather loudly… so loud that Robin’s roommate had to call her to break them up. After leaving their daughter’s apartment, Anna and Robert continued to argue until he walked her back to the Metro Court and he ended up at this roadside bar. It was incredibly fitting that he would walk in just as these four men were ogling over his little girl.)

Robert: Did I not just hear you refer to my daughter as hot?
(Nikolas looks toward Robin.)
Nikolas: There was no disrespect intended toward your daughter. I promise you that.
(Robert looks directly at Nikolas.)
Robert: By you, I’m sure.
(Patrick rolls his eyes as Robert slowly moves his gaze toward Patrick.)
Patrick: I have told you previously that I have nothing but respect for your daughter.
(Nikolas scoffs loudly. Robert turns his attention back to Nikolas.)
Robert: I take that as you disagree?
Nikolas: Well, I am more an actions type of man. (Simply) Ask Dr. Drake about his actions toward your daughter.
Coleman: It looks like this is going to be a long night. Should I send over the first round?
Robert: Yes! And charge it to Patrick Drake’s tab. (Looks at Patrick) Since this is all his fault.

Setting: Robin, Kelly & Lainey’s Apartment
(Robin, Kelly and Lainey look up from the couch as Emily Quartermaine walks out from their kitchen holding a slice of pizza.)

Emily: Thanks for letting me come over, guys.
Robin: Not a problem.
(Emily sits down on the floor.)
Emily: I just couldn’t sit through another “let’s bash Sonny fest” at the Quartermaines.
Robin: They’re giving you a hard time about Sonny?
Emily: That’s suggesting that they ever stopped. Grandfather hates Sonny. And you, of all people, knows how my father feels about him.
(Robin folds her legs underneath her as she reaches for a piece of pepperoni.)
Robin: Because he still blames him for losing Jason.
Emily: And AJ in many ways. (Sighs) I don’t want to talk about this anymore. (Looks at Kelly) Why were you sweeping up glass when I came in?
(Kelly laughs loudly and points toward Robin.)
Kelly: Housewarming present from Robin’s parents.
Emily (confused): And what? It broke.
Lainey: Something broke, alright… their minds.
(Robin sighs.)
Robin: They were having a disagreement.
Emily: And they threw glass objects at one another?
Robin: My father ducked. My mother knew he would.
Emily: You know, I’m starting to think there is something seriously in the Port Charles water. Why do most people feel the need to throw around breakable objects when upset?
(Robin raises her hand.)
Robin: Wait! My parents aren’t like Sonny. They weren’t wielding wine bottles or bats… they were just passionate.
Kelly (rolls her eyes): Passionately fighting.
(Lainey and Emily both laugh as Robin grabs the pillow next to her and covers her face with it.)
Robin: Why isn’t anyone normal anymore?
Emily (laughs): Oh! You are SO asking the wrong bunch.
(Robin rolls her eyes then looks up when suddenly the phone next to their couch rings. Kelly reaches over Robin and answers it.)
Kelly: Hello? (Listens) Hey! We were wondering what happened to you. (Listens) Yeah… we could meet you there. Not a problem. See you in a few.
(Kelly hands the phone back to Robin.)
Kelly: Come on, girls. Duty calls.
(Robin groans loudly as does Lainey.)
Lainey: I just want one night off! Just one!
Robin: Why did we have to get called in?!? WHY?!?!
(Kelly smiles widely as she looks back at her two friends.)
Kelly: Oh, that is not the duty I have in mind, ladies.
(Robin peaks her head from behind her pillow.)
Robin: It’s not?
Kelly: Oh no. (Looks Lainey) We were summoned to Jake’s.
Robin: I was just there!
Kelly: Yeah, for like five minutes and for what? One beer? That does not count!
Emily (looks up): Wait! Was that Elizabeth? Is she okay?
Kelly: It seems like Epiphany ripped her a new one tonight.
Robin (surprised): Epiphany? Why? That doesn’t sound right.
Kelly: She left work to check on something without telling anyone.
Emily: In other words, she went to check on…
Robin, Kelly, Lainey & Emily (in unison): Jason.

Setting: Jake’s Bar
(Robert Scorpio sits proudly at the head of the table as Patrick, Nikolas and Lucky stare back at him. If anyone had told Patrick Drake that this was the Scorpio he’d spending most of his night with, he would’ve thought they were insane. But, here he was sitting with two men he could barely tolerate and the father of the woman he was having sex with on a nightly basis up until a few weeks ago… maybe he was insane. Patrick sighs tiredly as he lifts his bottle of beer back to his lips. He definitely needed something stronger than beer.)

Robert: You boys are lucky to be in the presence of someone as experienced as myself.
(Nikolas looks at Lucky and mouths “boys?” Lucky simply shakes his head and laughs softly.)
Robert: Now, I am assuming you are all here tonight over lady problems.
(Patrick lifts his bottle again.)
Patrick: Speak for yourself. I’m no longer in a relationship.
(Nikolas laughs as he spins his head toward Patrick.)
Nikolas: Oh, were you ever in one? I could’ve sworn it was you that said you and Robin never even had a relationship.
(Patrick glares back at Nikolas.)
Robert: Relationship or not – you don’t need to be in one to be tied in knots over a woman. (Picks up his beer) Now, let me tell you about my ex-wife…
Lucky: Which one?
(Robert looks back at Lucky.)
Lucky: My dad mentioned you were married to Holly too.
Robert: Right. For tonight, let’s just focus on the one that plays hard to get.
Lucky (laughs): Then, that would definitely not be Holly. From what my father has told me, she seems… how should I say it?
Nikolas: Accessible?
Lucky (smiles): Good call, Nikolas. Accessible.
(Patrick leans in toward the other three men.)
Patrick: There is nothing wrong with a woman that comes out and says what she wants. At least, Holly didn’t play games. Sometimes it’s nice not to play games.
Robert: True, but sometimes the games are fun to play. (Sighs) Since young Spencer brought her up… let’s compare say a woman like Holly to a woman say like Anna and our daughter Robin. The latter will keep you on your toes. Women like Anna and Robin are tough, they are smart and they are brave. And they are so damn frustrating. (Simply) You know why? Because they don’t really need you. If by some miracle, those two women let you in, don’t ever think you’ve broken down some great wall. (Points his bottle toward Patrick) It’s because they’ve decided to let you in.
Nikolas: I don’t know about that. Robin lets you in. (Simply) She’s let me in.
(Patrick rolls his eyes.)
Patrick: Oh please.
Nikolas: What? Are you trying to tell me that for all those weeks when you were with her, there wasn’t even once that she let down her guard with you?
(Patrick simply lowers his eyes and looks at his beer bottle.)
Nikolas: Women like Robin and Anna are tough, no doubt about it, but they are also extremely vulnerable because of that toughness. I’ve watched Robin pick herself up from the worst of situations imaginable with dignity and grace, but don’t think for a moment that she isn’t still effected by every bad card dealt to her.
Lucky (nods): He’s right. When a woman is that strong and they finally let you in and you disappoint them… (Breathes out) it’s the worst thing imaginable.
(Robert rolls his eyes.)
Robert: Okay, I can see that you get your sensitivity from Laura. There is no need to get all “Dr. Phil” on us. (Leans in) We cannot forget the matter at hand. We were comparing women like Holly to women like Robin and Anna…
(Nikolas suddenly turns toward Patrick.)
Nikolas: You know, you are probably an expert on this too, Patrick.
Patrick: And how do you figure that, Prince Cassidine?
Nikolas: Comparing Holly to Anna must be somewhat similar to comparing Carly to Robin.
(Lucky scoffs loudly.)
Lucky: Like there is even a comparison. Carly may be my cousin, but she is trash.
Nikolas: And predictable.
Patrick: And predictable is a bad thing? Maybe it’s me, but sometimes a man doesn’t want a challenge. Maybe sometimes a man simply wants a woman that comes out says “I want to have sex with you” and that’s all she wants – no mind games, no commitments, no promises for tomorrow…
(Nikolas shakes his head.)
Nikolas (disgusted): You are such a piece of work.
Patrick: What? For voicing what all of you are probably secretly wishing you could have? (Points toward Lucky with his beer) You are hanging around Robin’s college-aged cousin. (Points toward Nikolas) And you hung around a married woman. (Points toward Robert) And you…
Robert: Yes, Dr. Drake? And me? I know the value of good sex. However, I also know the value of a good woman. I had both separately… and together. (Smiles widely) And together is always better.
(Robert lowers his bottle and sighs.)
Robert: Women like Carly or Holly… they are fun for fleeting moments. And maybe… if you are a coward or a weaker man, they are the ones for you, but… I, I have to say… I think I’ve realized through my years that I like a challenge.
(And as if on cue, the door to Jake’s opens revealing Robin, Lainey, Liz, Emily and Kelly. The five women are laughing loudly as they enter the small bar. Robert immediately notices the change in Patrick’s demeanor and turns around. He laughs loudly as he stares back at his daughter. That’s his Robin – she had impeccable timing, just like her mother. Robin is about to say something to Kelly when she suddenly sees her father staring at her smiling like a Cheshire cat with Patrick, Nikolas and Lucky. She groans inwardly.)
Robin: This is so not good.
Kelly: What? The party is just starting.
(Robin grabs Kelly’s shoulders and physically turns her in the direction of her now waving father.)
Kelly: Oh. Is this like a boy’s night out?
Robin: No, this just sucks.
Lainey: I don’t get it. They don’t even usually talk to each other.
(The five women simply study the four men staring back at them.)
Robin (flustered): This just seems contrived, don’t you think? Like a bad plot point to move the story along! I mean, why would Patrick have a drink with Nikolas?
Liz: Or Lucky?
Lainey: Or your dad?
(Kelly suddenly bursts out laughing.)
Kelly: Oh, it’s obvious, ladies.
Liz: It is?
Emily: It is?
Kelly: Ladies, they are talking about the one thing that they all have in common.
Liz: I can’t wait to hear this.
Kelly (simply): Women problems. (Points toward Robin) Your father was just ducking for his life. And your boy, Patrick, over there is still probably kicking himself for kicking you out of his bed. (She turns toward Liz) You and your hubby are always having some sort of issue – money, flirting…
Liz: Hey!
(Kelly turns toward Emily.)
Kelly: And you! Your ex-husband is a single father. He desperately has some women problems… like how to find one.
(Lainey sighs as she looks back at Kelly.)
Lainey: I’ll get us a table.
(Robin reaches toward Lainey and gently tugs at her arm.)
Robin: Hey! Do you want to maybe go to Kelly’s instead?
Kelly: For what? Hot cocoa? We came here for tequila! And we are not leaving before we have some tequila!
(Robin cringes again as Lainey and Kelly run off to an empty table. Emily leans in toward Robin and smiles.)
Emily: It might not be that awkward, Robin.
(Robin glances over Emily’s shoulder and sees her father waving toward her.)
Liz: I should go over there and talk to Lucky. (Looks at Robin) Come with me.
Robin: No, thank you. I’ll need a few shots before I venture over to that table. Tell my dad I said, “hi.”
(Liz watches Robin and Emily walk over to their table with Lainey and Kelly then ventures toward Robert’s table with Lucky, Nikolas and Patrick.)
Liz: Well, this is a odd sighting.
(Lucky reaches toward Liz and gently kisses her hand.)
Lucky: I was here with Nikolas.
(Liz looks toward Patrick.)
Liz: And you?
Patrick: Here to pick up a lady to spend the evening with.
(Elizabeth rolls her eyes as she looks at the men sitting with Patrick.)
Liz: Oh, and that’s going really well. (leans in) You picked up three lookers. Be gentle with them, Patrick.
(Robert turns fully in his chair and looks up at Elizabeth Spencer.)
Robert: Why didn’t my daughter come over here with you?
Liz (awkwardly): She was thirsty.
(Robert frowns as he hears cries of “tequila!” He turns fully toward his daughter’s table and suddenly smiles again. Robert stands up and looks back toward Patrick.)
Robert: Remember what I told you about a challenge? Watch and learn, boys.
(Patrick rolls his eyes as Robert walks over to Robin’s table. She can feel his presence behind her and smiles.)
Robin: Dad?
Robert: Robin, why don’t you and your lovely friends join…
(Robin turns around and smiles.)
Robin: You and your lovely friends?
(Robert smiles.)
Robert: So, you think we’re lovely?
(Robin leans in and looks back at Robert.)
Robin: No, I think you are up to something. (points toward him) And you better hope that it doesn’t involve revealing anything about me.
Robert: So, keep me in check. Join us.
Robin: Join you?
Robert: I’ll even pay for your drinks. (looks at the table) All of your drinks.
Robin: With what money? You’re broke!
Robert (smiles): Oh! Tonight is on Patrick Drake’s tab.
(Robin suddenly smiles as does Kelly.)
Robin: Really? (she bites her lip) In that case, if it’s on his tab. (laughs) We’ll join!
(Robert smiles with deep pride as Robin stands up.)
Robert: That’s my girl! (kisses her forehead) My little firecracker!
(Patrick is the first to look up when Robin suddenly appears at his table with Lainey, Kelly and Emily behind her.)
Robert: I thought we could use some female company.
Liz: Really? (looks at Robin) And you agreed to this?
(Robin sits down directly across from Patrick.)
Robin: Why not? I am a girl who loves adventure, right?
(Robert smiles widely behind Robin as his eyes remain glued to Patrick Drake. This young man would learn the hard way – his daughter was not an average girl. She was part Scorpio and Devane. He almost felt sorry for him. Robert looks over as Coleman delivers another round of drinks and quickly adds it onto Patrick’s tab. He smiles widely. He ALMOST felt sorry for him.)
