Noah Calls Rehab!

"To old friends, reunited," Noah said.  Bobbie clinked his glass, and an uncomfortable silence shrouded the table.  "Don't look so worried," he said.  "I'm an alcoholic, but I'm a functioning one."  She knew he was kidding himself.  "Noah Drake, you're one of the few good memories I have, and I want to keep it."  As she got up  to leave, Patrick showed up.  "I know how much you loved mom," Patrick said.  "How can you wreck yourself in her name?"  Noah couldn't look at his son.  "I killed her!  Don't pretend you don't blame me every bit as much as I blame myself!"  Noah said ashamedly.  Patrick calmly and quietly rebutted.  "I looked up to you my whole life," he said.  "I wanted to be just like you...until I realized that you were a coward.  You used mom's death as an excuse to wreck everything she ever believed about you."  Noah lowered his head in shame.  "Dad, you can do better.  It's not too late."  Patrick laid a card on the table.  "It's a referral to a rehab clinic.  If you get sober, if you get your life back in a way that honors your wife, then maybe there's a chance for you and I.  Mend some broken fences.  if you choose to keep finding yourself in the bottom of a bottle, I'm asking you - as your son - to go away and not come back."  After Patrick left, the bartender brought Noah another drink.  He put his hand to his head, rubbed his eyes, and stared at the drink. Defeated, he slowly dialed his phone.  Finally, he spoke into it, "Uh...um...my name is..." Every word was impossible to get out.  "My name is Noah Drake...and I need help."  Years of pain and regret exposed themselves in his tired eyes.  As Noah, Rick Springfield has masterfully reached deep inside and brought every uncomfortable emotion to the surface.  Viewers can't help but cry for his tortured character.
