Love In the Afternoon

After months of resisiting the Port Charles playboy, Robin decides to have sex with Patrick this week on General Hospital.

That is, until he wrecks it.

"They're alone and things [heat up]," sets up Kimberly McCullough, who plays Robin.  "Patrick says, 'Okay.  I'm ready.  I have everything prepared,'" meaning condoms.  "Robin is offended.  She's like, 'Oh!  You just assumed we were going to have sex?'  He says, 'Yeah.  Once you got over yourself and the fact that you are HIV-positive, I figured we would.'"

But Robin thinks Patrick is the one who can't get over himself - and tells him so.  "She says it's his fear of intimacy, his fear of having a real relationship [holding him back]," says McCullough.  "They have a conversation about that."

Once that's settled, they start up again.  Ding-dong!  "There's this other woman, a tall, pretty, blonde doctor that has a date with Patrick.  He's a jerk!"  huffs McCullough.  "He didn't even tell Robin about her.  Patrick makes some remark like, 'I thought I could have both of you,' Robin is like, 'Forget you,' and leaves.'"

Does she mean it?  "At this point, Robin thinks she's never going to have sex with Patrick," sighs McCullough.  "Even though Robin sees the good in Patrick, unless he stops acting the way he has been, I do't see how she could commit to him - or even be with him."

That said, "The writers are building a foundation for a real relationship, whether it's friendship or romance," she adds.  "Robin and Patrick keep inching their way towards each other, and then one of them does something to ruin it.  They keep going back to square one, but they're learning more about each other and getting closer."

Yep, it's love
