Reprise Parties

Rick Springfield
(Noah Drake, 1981-1983; 2005-present)

What was it like walking through those doors after all these years?

"Actually, they're different doors now [laughs].  [The studio] used to be on Gower [Street, in Hollywood] and now it's the one on Prospect [Avenue, in Hollywood].  But there are still a couple people here in the cast and on the crew from the old show, and that was a bit of a mind f--- [laughs].  It was wild."

Had you kept in touch with any of your GH co-stars over the years?

"I'd see Jackie [Zeman, Bobbie] every once in awhile.  She brought her family to see me [in concert] when I was in Las Vegas.  In fact, she called me up when she heard [he was coming back to the show.]

Would you like to see the writers revisit Noah and Bobbie's love affair?

"We've done a few scenes now where we've talked and reminisced a bit.  It's been interesting to see the different roads they've taken in life.  I'm always afraid to see the flashbacks though [laughs.]"

Of all the times to return to your daytime roots, why now?

"No one ever asked before.  Truthfully, I guess they figured I was off doing other things or that I wouldn't do it.  I don't know."

Even after your chart-topping musical success, you're still identified as "GH heartthrob Noah Drake."

"Yeah, which is one of the reasons when they called me up I went, 'Hmmm...[laughs].'  But that identification has never stopped.  It's always the third or fourth question I get asked in interviews.  It's so bizarre."

We apologize in advance, but since hospital volunteer Maxie is dating a cop named Jesse, has anyone ever approached you about a scene where you called her "Jessie's Girl?"

"I doubt I'll be doing that [laughs].  But you're not the first person to ask me that.  No one [here] has mentioned it, but I think that might be too much even for a soap to pull off."
