Top 50 Couples

Fly Away Home

Their First Encounter: Mac Scorpio's sheltered niece, Robin, developed a crush on tough kid Stone Cates, who worked for the mob. They met at a boxing match where Stone's brother, Jagger, was the welterweight attraction.

Their Most Romantic Moment: Honor student Robin and dropout Stone grabbed kisses on the sly, because Uncle Mac wouldn't let them date. When Robin got into Yale, a sneezy, feverish Stone (he had the flu!) nobly convinced her to go, even though it meant leaving him. Robin lovingly fed her hero chicken soup.

Their Hottest Kiss: One night, while Mac was out of town, Robin and Stone turned up the steam in the Scorpio house. The duo came thisclose to making love, but Stone put the brakes on - he'd forgotten to bring a condom.

Their Coolest Caper: While performing Romeo and Juliet's goodbye scene at the Nurses Ball, Stone brazenly departed from the script. When Juliet (Robin) kissed her "dead" Romeo, Stone jumped up and kissed her back!

Their Favorite Hideaway: A Port Charles motel room where they made love for the first time. (Believing he was HIV negative, Stone didn't forget the condom this time!). They came back here when tragedy began to overwhelm them

Their Most Perilous Stunt: Getting involved in a mob shootout outside Luke's Club. Stone took a hit in the leg, but they were lucky to escape alive!

Their Biggest Jam: When Stone's flu symptoms recurred - and persisted - Kevin ordered the young man retested for HIV. (Stone had only been tested once.) The news was devastating. His illness rapidly developed into a full-blown case of AIDS. Robin learned that she was HIV positive, too.

Their Worst Enemy: Time

Their Special Song: Janis Ian's "When Angels Cry"

Their Bleakest Separation: Stone died peacefully with Robin at his bedside. His memorial service took place on December 1, 1995.

Their Sweetest Reunion: After Stone's death, Robin moved on (and even shared a tempestuous romance with Jason, the black-sheep Quartermaine son). But Stone will always be her first love… and they're forever reunited in her heart.

Where They Are Now: Stone's spirit still hovers around P.C., and he probably smiles at the Nurses Ball antics every year. Robin lives abroad and continues to cope with HIV. Recently, she visited Pine Valley for a bittersweet reunion with her mother Anna.
