ANSWER: NO, she does NOT.  Unfortunately, this is an area in which the magazines have been very irresponsible in their facts: Robin does not have AIDS, she is HIV+.  What this means is that she has in her system the virus that can cause AIDS, which stands for "Acquired Immune Deficiency," a syndrome in which your immune system is decimated.  This is from the Merck Source site: "AIDS is caused by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). AIDS is the final and most serious stage of HIV disease, in which the signs and symptoms of severe immune deficiency have developed."  So chances are-barring a cure-Robin will develop AIDS, but she has not as of yet.  Many HIV+ people can live long and full lives before that happens.  Magic Johnson, who announced that he had been diagnosed as HIV+ in 1991, is still living a healthy life and his HIV has not progressed into AIDS.

ANSWER: At the age of 16, Robin fell in love with Michael "Stone" Cates, an abandoned child who had lived on the streets as a young teen until he was taken in by Sonny Corinthos.  Sonny and Stone had had Stone tested for HIV earlier, and he had come up negative.  Unfortunately, what they didn't realize is that HIV can hide in the blood stream, and you had to be tested more then once over at least a 6 month period before you knew for sure if you were HIV- or not.  Robin and Stone responsibly used condoms their first few times, but after Robin went on the pill and with the belief that Stone was HIV-, they stopped.  Alas, it turned out that Stone was HIV+, and this was discovered when he fell ill and was diagnosed as having full blown AIDS.  Because they had been having sex without the use of condoms, Robin had been infected as well.  

ANSWER: Stone, while living on the streets, became sexually involved with a girl who was an intravenous drug user.  She contracted HIV that way, and passed it on to him through unprotected sex.

Robin was raised "Robin Soltini."  She believed that she was the granddaughter of Filomena Soltini and was unaware of who her real parents were until she was 7 years old.  Anna had kept her real parentage a secret to protect her from her parent's enemies.

Robin's first serious crush was on golden boy Jason Quartermaine, when she was 13.

Cesar Faison has always been obsessed with Anna, and by extension her daughter, Robin, and wanted Robin to be his daughter with Anna.

Robin is one of the few children-to-adult characters on General Hospital who aged in real time, rather than being unnaturally aged or SORASED. She's also one of the few who has always been played by the same actress.

The storyline of Anna's capture by Grant Putnam (the Snowman Storyline) originally called for Robin to be the one captured by Grant, but the show's censors didn't think it would be appropriate to have a little girl locked up in a cage, so they rewrote it and had Anna be captured instead, while Robin was traumatized into catatonia.
